I like how you integrated story, each trainer's personalities, and the overall presentation of the battle into their team choices It would make each gym feel more like an event, not just a required boss fight
The reason wugtrio is in Kofu's team is that the animal that wigglet and therefore wugtrio is based on is a very popular dish in Japan and China to the point that there are laws to prevent over fishing, illegal fishing and a black market of it. So there you have why Kofu has it in his team, and having 3 in one shell he can triple the price of the dish.
I know it would have been harder to model and animate. As it would be a lot of custom work for just one NPC you spend so little time around. But Grusha having a mobility aid with him, a cane, or like Nemona some kind of device/brace on one of his legs. Or maybe even a full on wheelchair, would have really cool to see. He got hurt badly enough he had to give up doing the sport that injured him. But that doesn't come across in his animations or model, he is moving fine, he is walking fine. We just have his and NPCs word that "trust me bro he got hurt a while back." In contrast we have Nemona. She has that medical brace on her arm, she gets winded in area zero and plays it off as a being quirky, and whines about the stairs leading to the school. It's subtle but enough is there to point to her having a chronic condition.
That would have been so great, honestly! It would be great disability representation, and it would add to Grusha's backstory. And I completely agree with the suggestion that Nemona has a chronic condition. Pokémon probably wouldn't do it, but the potential is definitely there!
I love videos like this, and after your whole series playing through the game with their teams, you're certainly in a position to speak on what could make their teams more effective.
When I first played Scarlet, I battled Katy after Brassius & was shocked at how easy her team was. If I could change her roster, she could keep Tarountula but the other 2 would be switched for Vespiquen & Dachsbun. Queen bee for the honey, bread doggo for fire resistance.
I think my idea would be two massive changes 1.) Gyms can be battled in basically any order with their teams updating the more badges the player gets. The gyms would increase by levels of 5 starting at two pokemon at lebel 10 with a 12 ace and each two badges their team expands by 1 alongside evolutions which would be fitting for when they're battled 2.) The tera pokemon are used to tera out of their weakness. Instead it makes it harder to attempt and solo with one/two pokemon with type advantages Katy:Spidops/Lokix/Vesiqueen(tera ground)/Heracross/Fortress/Volcarona Brasscius:Arboliva/Toedscruel/Brambleghast(Tera rock/Appletun/Breloom/Amoongus Iono:Pincurchin/Kilowattrel/Bellibolt(tera water)/Luxray/Eelektross/Rotom-mow Kofu:Veluza/Pelipper/Wugtrio(Tera poison/Clawitzer/Dreadnaw/Gastrodon Larry:Maushold/Staraptor/Dudunsparce(ghost)/Pyroar/Indeedee/Sawsbuck Ryme:Driblim/Mismagius/Houndstone(fighting)/Mimmkyuu/Spirtomb/Dragapult Tulip:Gardevoir/Farigiraf/Esparthra(Fairy)/Gallade/Bronzong/Slowking Grusha:Abomasnow/Weavile/Cetitan(Steel)/Froslass/Cloyster/Beartic
Goldeengo with Grusha is interesting, because the moment you said "he couldn't learn any ice-type moves so he had only one option: tera blast" reminded me it's the same thing with Grusha: he can't do what he loves anymore, so his only option is give his best as a gym leader, and therefore, terastalizing his pokémon. Ugh, sorry, he's just one of my top 3 fave ScV leaders lmao
I honestly feel that tera is being kinda misused. Let's remember which tera they're using and how they work optimally. *Bug:* The only pokémon who would even consider using bug tera are first impression users. Sadly Trapinch is DLC and falinks is too strong for a first gym, and is a shame because it is both bug-looking AND a good ace. *Grass:* A mostly defensive tera used to dodge sleep powder or leech seed. Mosly used by fire types like Larvesta or Growlithe, who also learn trailblaze, but I guess rocks can also use it so it's not terrible. *Electric:* Iono's usage is actually great, both offensive and defensively. *Water:* Is a generic defensive tera with decent offensive utility. Kofu used it well, dodging all ice weaknesses and making Crabhammer very strong. *Normal:* Used mostly to power-up Normal moves, just like Larry does. *Ghost:* Is mostly there to dodge normal and fighting moves while giving the useful ghost neutral hitting. A Garganacl, Lucario or Abomasnow is what comes to mind with it. *Psychic:* Is mostly an offensive tera. Fairy is not where you would use it, but from a fire, Ground or Water type, like Salazzle, Gastrodon or Camerupt. *Ice:* Its niche is creating the BoltBeam combo with an electric type. Think of Magnezone, Eelektross or Toxtricity.
Geeta really do be interfering too much xD IMAGINE. Bug type finally getting some recognition, then Primera shows up like “KATY you’re too tough on the newbies! Nerf yourself!”
i think a glimmet or glimmora for brassius’ ace is a good fit because its a fake rock thing like sudowoodo which pretends to be a flower, and it genuinely looks like a sculpture or art (it doesnt learn grass type moves tho :( maybe they could give it magical leaf or smth)
I like the thinking, but I would prefer the system they already have with Tera-mons: Ones from outside the region that can fit, but ain’t the type. Kati could theoretically use another food themed Pokémon, Applin/Appleton/Flapple. Yes, it’s reusing Milo’s Ace, but it could lead to a sense of familiarity before a surprise with Bug-Tera. I also can’t really add much for Brassius, since I was wondering why no Sunflora, too! As for Grusha, love the use of Frosslass, not liking Cryogonal. It’s a nice setup thing, but Frossmoth wasn’t a bad choice, in my opinion. Also, to go with the Tera Pokémon theme I mentioned before, I sadly cannot see anything but the Altaria… It’s a big cloud that’d benefit from the type being Ice. Only other Pokémon to give her is Gholdengo, but I don’t see her as the type of guy to have one, given the requirements. That seems more Raifirt or Poppy’s deal, actually.
Some notes: - Every gym leader in the game has a Paldean ace and a Terastal ace, and I'd like to see that trend kept, even if the former doesn't necessarily fit. - If Katy should have a fully evolved pokemon, why not Spidops? It can be obtained at level 15 and only has a BST of 404, which is much more manageable compared to Frosmoth's 475. Yes, the theming of the Tarountula decorations is dropped, but still. - Alternative suggestions to Rellor (which is a bit of a stretch) are the water-typed Surskit, the honey-gathering Combee, or the Vivillon that is seen before her fight. - Brassius has Smoliv as his Paldean ace pokemon, so I'm kinda against having Sunflora in Smoliv's slot. An alternative for replacing Smoliv specifically could be Bramblin (look at his hair). - Gholdengo's a little too powerful for a gym leader ace, but there's also very few pokemon that want to use Tera Ice. Alternatives I've considered are Krookodile (Ski mask?), Electrode, Jolteon (Type coverage), or even just ditching any attempts at using a non-ice type and just making Cetitan his Tera ace.
I think of a gym used the TM they give out. These gym but gameplay over lore, and too simple. The theme can be better. Grusha with a Cryogonal really had interesting implications according scarlet: It appear during cold seasons. It is said that people and Pokémon who die on snowy mountains are reborn into these Pokémon. Reminding him of his accident Your version of battle sound a lot fun and make use of these mechanics. For me… Tulip, Ryme, Larry have good teams
Give professor touro 6 Pokémon with only OHKO moves and no guard because from the future they should know how to make those anomalies Also I guess because he just really likes his Time Machine so the AI won’t let you win without miraidon
For Katy I think her team is good enough I would just evolve the Tarontula. Brassius should have a Bramblin instead of petilil and a Dolliv instead of Smoliv. Finally I think Grusha should just tera his ace Cetitan because Tera Ice will almost never benefit a non ice type. (But gholdengo is also a really good choice but I think it will be more fiting on Nemona's team).
Won't lie, I never even got to the first gym in Scarlett/Violet, despite owning the games. Pokémon Games just aren't made to the same degree, complexity or quality.
Here's my improvement for gym team improvements Katie - Nymble, Spidops and Rabsca with Rock Terra Rollout Brassius - Smoliv, Applin and Brambleghast with Rock Terra Rollout too Iono - Wattrel, Bellibolt and Pawmot with Electric Terra Double Shock Kofu - Veluza, Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros, Tatsugiri and Dondozo with Dragon Terra Order Up plus as a Double battle Larry - Oinkologne, Maushold, Cyclizar and Dundunsparce with Flying Terra Air Slash and Serene Grace Ryme - Houndstone, Brambleghast, Ceruledge and Gholdengo with Steel Terra Tulip - Farigirafe, Rabsca, Malamar, Medicham and Espathara with Fairy Terra Grusha - Abomasnow, Frosslass, Beartic, Glaceon and Cetitan with Water Terra all with abilities boosted in the Snow
Not giving Katy a Tera-Bug Fidough is legitimately criminal TBH
Agreed
Tho it might very been a bit overpowered at the beginning bit people can get around it
I agree....
I mean Katie, her role is literally Baker....so she needs a Bread or Pastry like pokemon.... Like Alcreamie
I like how you integrated story, each trainer's personalities, and the overall presentation of the battle into their team choices
It would make each gym feel more like an event, not just a required boss fight
2:45
Yeah... Thankfully this aint the real life counterpart, otherwise that kitchen would be recieving some health inspections
I’m only 3 minutes in but a fully evolved Pokemon for the first gym is insane
snom (Frosmoth pre evolution) evolves via friendship so it's not that difficult to get
They mean as in a mon that high power level should not be at the first gym
Yep, and why Frosmoth with BST of 475 when Spidops with BST of 404 is right there?
Don't worry you have Flamigo

When does she get wounded in area zero! Also she says that the brace is because she just sucks at throwing poke balls
I love videos like this, and after your whole series playing through the game with their teams, you're certainly in a position to speak on what could make their teams more effective.
This feels like a rom hack of scarlet and violet, maybe it would be like: Violent violet or some
Scalding Scarlet and Violent Violet
@ perfect
Maybe Ancient Scarlet and Futuristic Violet?

Wait, the pseudo is also an ice type, not just ice whale.
I liked the vid, but i think a smolive for Brasius team is great
Katie: Spidops Combee and Fidough
Brassius: Sunflora underlevelled Dolliv and Sudowoodo
Grusha: snow warning abomasnow frosmoth Cetitan Gyarados
Vasco the teams are great but I wanna put legendary for fun :)
Just because you misspeled It, I realized how close Vasko's Name is to the Football Team I cheer for (Vasco). PIRATE GANG RISE UP
vasko being inteelligent
Yay! You videos are awesome! :)
Hope you'll have a good day

I realy think kofu needs a rework, he is such an easy sweep.
Under a minute gang
Better than saying ‘1st’ ig…
They really did make some terrible teams in scarlet and violet that made it feel too easy
Here's my improvement for gym team improvements
Katie - Nymble, Spidops and Rabsca with Rock Terra Rollout
Brassius - Smoliv, Applin and Brambleghast with Rock Terra Rollout too
Iono - Wattrel, Bellibolt and Pawmot with Electric Terra Double Shock
Kofu - Veluza, Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros, Tatsugiri and Dondozo with Dragon Terra Order Up plus as a Double battle
Larry - Oinkologne, Maushold, Cyclizar and Dundunsparce with Flying Terra Air Slash and Serene Grace
Ryme - Houndstone, Brambleghast, Ceruledge and Gholdengo with Steel Terra
Tulip - Farigirafe, Rabsca, Malamar, Medicham and Espathara with Fairy Terra
Grusha - Abomasnow, Frosslass, Beartic, Glaceon and Cetitan with Water Terra all with abilities boosted in the Snow
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi
just give katy 6 ledians because ledian sucks even though its the goat so it's like she has one strong pokemon instead of 6 terrible ones instead
"erm ledian isn't in SV" I DONT CARE!!!!!!!!! my hypothetical my rules buddy
