As a guy with 6 or so Pontiacs in the garage, I've never given much respect to the workaday Grand Am. However, this may well be the nicest one in the country right now, and is therefore strangely desirable. Nice work, sir.

Until my last one was totaled I have had a daily driver Grand Am since 2000. Not always the same one but between the 4 or 5 over 1million miles and never a single breakdown. Sure they have little issues but I fix them for pennies when I have some free time. I might feel bad about subjecting this one to salt this winter but better this than the G8 GXP.

@@trbstang Actually, I think it is the "or so", but I had to count on my fingers. It's not really a Pontiac, not really a Toyota.... it was built in what's now the Tesla factory so maybe it's really a gas-powered Tesla. But like @vehcor and his Grand Am, it's an absolutely reliable, bullet-proof set of wheels that just fails to be flashy.

Has the original Goodyear tires it came with and I changed the transmission fluid for the first time a week ago. I guess you could say I’m a fan of these cars too. My dad bought a new 2000 Grand Am SE a few months before he gave up driving. I drove it for 9 years without too many maintenance headaches, then handed it off to my daughter for a few more years of rough service. Listen, others, I know MAACO is confused with Scott showing all this molding reinstall video footage. However, I think everyone can get something out of watching Scott install the molding with attention to where he start, how not to kink it, this piece first, this end here and so one. Learn what the 'window installation tool is' and not get scared when he says, "just DROP the glass in" (he doesn't mean drop it in the opening to a crashing halt!) Just mentioning for those who pay attention, even if you've done some of these things, it's always great to watch a pro who may just have a new trick for us! COOL TRICK: Screws (mod) for headlight holders - thank you! A SUPER Big Thank You on the Fluid Film / Cavity Wax statement. Most of us would never have known that otherwise! LOOK how big that door (side) molding is! Looks like Vinyl Siding Soffit Trim! Well, so quickly time flies. Thank you for this new one and glad you work on what you 'want' to work on cuz I (we) enjoy it all! Nice job! Sonny (CT)

Watching Mr Vehcor handling the glass-windows, reminds me on my youth.
I was working in a small steel-construction shop, The boss one or two guys "moon-lightning" for him. He had a friend (Call him Mike) who came often to the shop. This guy was a Car-Mechanic, but with a license to own or operate his own shop, but worked for the High-Way repair shop as the Manager.
One day 1972 or 1973 a customer car was brought to this small shop by him that needed the front-window replaced. The Older folks may know that in those days, the rubber holding the window in place was first put on the glass, (if one thinks of the letter *H* one can get the idea, on the top came the glass on the bottom would be the sheet-metal of the car-frame. First one would put the "H"-RUBBER on the glass, and the bottom one thin string, and crossing it at one place making sure it stays, then put the glass from the outside in the car.
My Boss and another guy held the Window in place on the outside, while Mike was on the inside, pulling the string so that the H-rubber would slip over the sheet-metal and secure the window in place. Took only a few minutes (or so I thought) and the job was done. Mike went outside to take a look, and on the passenger side, on the bottom was the window not correct. Mike went around the passenger side, explained that the window would just need a small tap and then it fits. Standing besides the car, facing the rear, with his right hand, he hit the bottom corner of the window, and his had went right through it, shattering the window in the process.
To this day, I can not forget the look on his face, as he was one guy who gave people the impression he is sooo great, knows soo much and never makes any mistake and I (not even 18 at that time) was the dumbest Person he ever met...
Sorry for the long story.... Sorry also if I get the name wrong.

That's pretty awesome to see the old lady aka wife/significant other (for those who aren't aware of that positive term) lending a hand, most ladies/women/wives/partner usually aren't into 1's hobbies/work these days, thus its cool to see from time to time! It was well worth putting in the extra effort to fix the damage on the Grand Am. It's turning out really great with your usual level of perfection. You'd better be careful that you don't send up selling it for a nice profit. Then you'll have to find another winter car in a hurry! Stay safe over there with this COVID-19. You might have heard that we've had a massive second wave in Victoria and parts of New South Wales. So far, Queensland and other states are doing well. Hope it stays that way and they get this thing under control. All the best from Queensland Australia.

But, but, but, we wanted to see you do more to the mustang! It sure makes a difference when you are VERY familiar with a specific model in how fast it goes together, knowing all the shortcuts, like the headlight bulb bezel repair, and the trim on the rear door having to be put on after the window is dropped in. I’ve had people complain about how much I’ve charged them to do a “simple” repair in minutes that they had sometimes spent days trying to do, a lot of the time I had to use tools that I had made specifically for that repair. I would tell them they were paying for the experience level, to the actual time. I have had a couple that didn’t want to pay the previously agreed upon price, so I took it back apart and handed them their disassembled parts. I only did that if they were being real jerks though. Great video again Scott. I’ll wave next week when I come back through Chicago. Dan.
