Very good knowledgeable review, liked the explanation of CVT, torque converter. I like all Subarus but your review is probably the only one that (sadly but truthfully) explains that Subarus no longer make normal family cars but cars designed only for very bad roads or farms. With such poor mpg, huge transmission tunnel, really small boot, decade old interior; why would anyone except those who live on farms buy a Subaru?
Please can you remind us at what point Subaru were making normal family cars, they've always been fairly ruffty tuffty vehicles designed to go on forever, priced higher than their mainstream rivals due to their durability while offering no more (and sometimes less) interior comfort
No Auto folding Mirrors Can not use the Phone while driving because of Road Noise Seat belts Jam on the side of the Car and Rattle Can not turn off the Auto stop if the Phone is in Use if you can handle this it is ok but the old XV did not have these faults
They need to sort their UK engine range. In the USA you can get their 2.4l turbo which in this and the Outback transform them into great drives. The 2.0 and 2.5 normally aspirated petrols are gutless - married to a CVT makes them unpleasant unless you like dawdling.
The US does not have the same fleet-emissions legislation as we have here in the UK, so unfortunately I doubt we will see a change in engines available
I just wish it had the same power as the CX-30 Skyactive-X engine with AWD has a similar but not as good drive system as Subaru but it’s fit and Finnish is far superior and IMO the better car. Other countries get the 2.5 Crosstrek but the U.K. don’t nor do we get the sport, wilderness so we miss out on a lot of great models. We also don’t get the CX-30 2.5 turbo but at 186 BHP it’s better than the 136 BHP Subaru. So disappointed.
@@BuckleUpShow True, I just don’t understand why Subaru won’t give the U.K. the same specs and engine options as they do with other countries they would sell a lot more. I’m one of them.
Looks good in that blue. Subaru's never sold that well in Britain though...
Traditional Subarus are often bought by repeat customers. The Solterra is expanding their market share, but attracting a different kind of buyer.

The CX-30 won't really go anywhere off road though, that's what really draws people to the crosstrek
