This is so important. Always have to check yourself and add that anything is 'by the will of Allah'. Acknowledge the source. Also you rob yourself when you say 'luck/lucky' rather than blessing. You're not acknowledging Allah and you credit the non-existent and rob yourself from remembering Allah and opening an opportunity to praise and be grateful.

By Grace The fact that’s the Qur’an is so clear and when I listen sometimes to it, I cry. It’s recitation is so beautiful and it makes so much sense to me. The way God is so forgiving made me love Islam. 'O My Devotees, who have committed excesses against their own selves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Surely, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed He is the most Forgiving, the Merciful' (Quran 39:53).

Samantha! Could you please make a video about developing love and respect for the Prophet Muhammad (sws) for us reverts? It’s something that I’ve had difficulty adjusting to and understanding, especially coming from the Christian faith. I’ve never given much thought of other prophets until now.

@@bygrace3113 "Look until the sources, educate yourself, don't just listen to other thoughts", that's exactly for you! Yet you listen to this Anonymous random guy on internet?? Haha. Look to the Islamic sources and ask the real muslim Scholars, if you don't know who are the real Muslim scholars then as the easy first step check out SPEAKERS CORNERS, there are some real knowledgeable Muslims brothers who debate Christians!
check out these channels: DUS DAWAH, THEPIOUSONES, EF DAWAH, FARID RESPONDS, SCDAWAH AND OTHER MUSLIM CHANNELS.

By Grace you could nt be more wrong. You know absolutely nothing about Prophet ( PBUH) He (SAW) never married a 6 year old girl. Its a very weak tradition and there is no clear evidence that He married Hazrat aisha at 6. Hazrat Aisha was atleast 18 years old when she got married to PROPHET and a lot of prominemt scohalrs of islam agree on this and you can even search this up .

Wonderful video Samantha! Drinking my water along with you! Sometimes when I am scatterbrained and not totally present in my day I try to play a game of Remembrance of Allah SWT. That cool tree I pass under on my way to work? A blessing from Allah, I am so grateful to experience such beauty every day. That coworker who helped me solve a problem at work? SubhanAllah that Allah has blessed them with the knowledge and ability to assist me. It's like playing "I Spy" but the catch is that Allah SWT is EVERYWHERE around us, even in the most mundane details of our lives, He is the Source of everything and playing this "game" helps me stay grounded when I have dissociative moments.

I somewhat don't agree with this video on different levels, as a Muslim:
    - The title doesn't make sense. You live in a modern society, therefore you ARE a modern Muslim. There is nothing bad about being modern if "modern" means not wearing a beard/jelleba, understanding some parts of the Quran in the light of their historical context, use your critical thinking in religion, separating culture from religion, etc. By saying "modern Muslims", you're just creating more division (YAY). It would have been needed to define what it means to you at least.
    - The "issue" you're talking about touches in different levels each and every Muslim on this Earth whether they lived on it 300 years ago or will 20 years from now, not just a category of Muslims.
    - The issue you're talking about is Muslims who forget that Allah is the One that gives you everything you have life. I agree. However. If I go to the gym, loses weight and gain muscle, if you graduate or anything else, it is not right to ignore the fact that you had some part to play. If you work really hard for something, you will certainly have results because of this hard work. It's basic science in these examples.
As I've been a Muslim for most of my life, I would like to give you an advice (as I've watch some of your videos): take time to think about what you believe in, why you believe in this or that and never trust someone who tells you "a Muslim should do that" until you find the source. Be peaceful in your beliefs and practice and have a reasoning behind the things you do: when you are a new Muslim, it's common to be passionate and going faaaaar in the details. This is not what religion is about. Religion is mainly about making the world a better, fairer, sweeter place, affirming that there is only one God and living your life in a loving obedience of Him.
    I wish you the best.
    Salam

      @fatimanawaz6916 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I agree with you to some extent. Like being aware of the sources of any knowledge that comes to you. However I do not agree with your Modern islam kind of ideology.
      1) Remember that the last hour has to approach. The prophets gave us all the signs so that we could guard ourselves from Fitnah. The thought that our future is gonna be so bright and peaceful , like there's be flying cars and even more improved technology in 2050, is given to you by Satan and his people, for they want to distract you from the real threat which awaits the fate of all Muslims. So when you talk about 21st century modern Islam, just know what you're talking about.
      2) We Muslims are always taught that Allah has no limits of time and space, He is eternal and the whole universe belongs to Him. On one side we acknowledge all of this, while on the other we wonder how could Islam of 7th century be practised in 21st century. Like If you believe Allah is immune from time then, ask yourself, you could claim that His religion could be restricted by Time and era.
      3) We Muslims are also made aware about the Test in the world. But we think that test only comes when Allah bestows a calamity upon us. However, this is again a trick of Satan so that you might not be aware of what he is upto against Muslims and he could do his job easily. Sister/brother know that this is a test too. When something is clearly going against the Quran it obviously Satan provoking it.
      3) Most of the time, Muslim women raise arguments about why should a man tell a women what to wear or what to not? With the exception of those men who impose or compel you to do something, Allah has given them the right to them to stop evil when they see. You should know that it becomes a test for him or even a girl, that whether he/sje plays his/her part in protecting you from falling for a a trick of Satan, for you're a Human being Quran declares you innocent until you got tricked by Satan because Allah has given you the capably to understand and stop yourself. Know that it's a test. Let's suppose there is this one guy who tells you to cover up or dress modestly ans then there is this another guy who tells you to be yourself, to wear whatever you want, since your clothes is a way of expressing yourself and thing pleasing to hear like that. Know that Satan tricks you the same way. In the name of humanity they are setting grounds to make you slip and move away from your religion. Please see it as a test and don't fail. In fact in such cases women get quite innocent into thinking that these so called liberal men have such great and clean mind. Know that they are not because at this point even science tells us hey are the same. The first one however is at least being honest with you. Please acknowledge it as his honesty and see it as a guidance coming from Allah.
      4) Only if you had the 'faaarrrrr-into knowlegde if ISLAM you might havent commented that, for it is this deep knowledge which makes you aware of Fitnah around you and how it is embracing us all.
I'm not trying to be boastful but I was like you too but Allah guided me now I think others need to be aware as well. He gave me the deeper knowledge and believe me to me the earth and it's fancies mean nothing, such is the guidance Allah that you don't really feel like indulging yourself a lot into this world of Continous Tests. Please be aware and be protected from Fitnah, for our future is not seemingly gonna be fine keeping in mind the end hour ahadis.

      Weird flex but ok.
When you stretch everything to basics it does come to fate. Yes working hard = more gain but in worldly stuff. What about working hard for your belief and imaan? Anyway the practicality of this concept differs from person to person. And yes the title is 100% correct. And I’m sorry say but you’re the exact definition of “modren muslim” because we convey Islam’s message how others want to hear it not what it is actually about.

There will forever be people like you to try as best as possible, to ensure that Muslis stray from their religion. If a newly convert wants to go 'faaaaar' into details with their religion, they have every right to do so SubhanAllah. This is truly what Islam is about. Devoting yourself to Allah and Allah alone, and to spend your lifetime worshipping him, not acting as you desire and turn Him away because there have been rules and regulations set out for all Muslims
      May Allah forgive us all.

I mean of course Allah provides and can take or give us what we need but Allah also gives us self will where we control what we do and how hard we work .. did I explain that right? I’m not sure but I’m saying that Allah gave us the free will to live and also help ourselves because if you think that Allah is giving us everything and doing everything for us so does that mean Allah also is the creator of the bad things that happen....no ....it’s people that control their life outcome ....Allah is our creator and this life is a test

Thats the state of the unmah and many other ahadith like that
Rather, on that day you will be many, but you will be like foam, like the foam on the river. And Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will throw wahn (weakness) into your hearts." Someone said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is wahn?" He said: "Love of the world and the hatred for death."

Hammam who was a man devoted to worship said to Imam Ali (as), "O' Amir al-mu'minin, describe to me the pious man in such a way as though I see them.
Thus, the God-fearing, in it are the people of distinction. Their speech is to the point, their dress is moderate and their gait is humble. They keep their eyes closed to what Allah has made unlawful for them, and they put their ears to that knowledge which is beneficial to them. They remain in the time of trials as though they remain in comfort. If there had not been fixed periods (of life) ordained for each, their spirits would not have remained in their bodies even for the twinkling of an eye because of (their) eagerness for the reward and fear of chastisement. The greatness of the Creator is seated in their heart, and, so, everything else appears small in their eyes. Thus to them Paradise is as though they see it and are enjoying its favours. To them, Hell is also as if they see it and are suffering punishment in it.
Their hearts are grieved, others are protected from their evils, their bodies are thin, their needs are scanty, and their souls are chaste. They endured (hardship) for a short while, and in consequence they secured comfort for a long time. It is a beneficial transaction that Allah made easy for them. The world aimed at them, but they did not aim at it. It captured them, but they freed themselves from it by a ransom.
During a night they are upstanding on their feet reading portions of the Qur'an and reciting it in a well-measured way, creating through it grief for themselves and seeking by it the cure for their ailments. If they come across a verse creating eagerness (for Paradise) they pursue it avidly, and their spirits turn towards it eagerly, and they feel as if it is in front of them. And when they come across a verse which contains fear (of Hell) they bend the ears of their hearts towards it, and feel as though the sound of Hell and its cries are reaching their ears.
They bend themselves from their backs, prostrate themselves on their foreheads, their palms, their knees and their toes, and beseech Allah, the Sublime, for their deliverance. During the day they are enduring, learned, virtuous and God-fearing. Fear (of Allah) has made them thin like arrows. If any one looks at them he believes they are sick, although they are not sick, and he says that they have gone mad. In fact, great concern (i.e., fear) has made them mad.
They are not satisfied with their meagre good acts, and do not regard their major acts as great. They always blame themselves and are afraid of their deeds. When anyone of them is spoken of highly, he says: "I know myself better than others, and my Lord knows me better than I know. O Allah, do not deal with me according to what they say, and make me better than they think of me and forgive me (those shortcomings) which they do not know."
Among the signs of anyone of them is that you will see that he has strength in religion, determination along with leniency, faith with conviction, eagerness for knowledge, and knowledge with forbearance, moderation in riches, devotion in worship, gracefulness in starvation, endurance in hardship, desire for the lawful, pleasure in guidance and hatred from greed. He performs virtuous deeds but still feels afraid. In the evening he is anxious to offer thanks (to Allah). In the morning his anxiety is to remember (Allah).
He passes the night in fear and rises in the morning in joy - fear lest night is passed in forgetfulness, and joy over the favour and mercy received by him. If his self refuses to endure a thing which it does not like he does not grant its request towards what it likes. The coolness of his eye lies in what is to last for ever, while from the things (of this world) that will not last he keeps aloof. He transfuses knowledge with forbearance, and speech with action.
You will see his hopes simple, his shortcomings few, his heart fearing, his spirit contented, his meal small and simple, his religion safe, his desires dead and his anger suppressed. Good alone is expected from him. Evil from him is not to be feared. Even if he is found among those who forget (Allah) he is counted among those who remember (Him), but if he is among the rememberers he is not counted among the forgetful. He forgives him who is unjust to him, and he gives to him who deprives him. He behaves well with him who behaves ill with him.
Indecent speech is far from him, his utterance is lenient, his evils are non-existent his virtues are ever present, his good is ahead and mischief has turned its face (from him). He is dignified during calamities, patient in distresses, and thankful during ease. He does not commit excess over him whom he hates, and does not commit sin for the sake of him whom he loves. He admits truth before evidence is brought against him. He does not misappropriate what is placed in his custody, and does not forget what he is required to remember. He does not call others bad names, he does not cause harm to his neighbour, he does not feel happy at others misfortunes, he does not enter into wrong and does not go out of right.
If he is silent his silence does not grieve him, if he laughs he does not raise his voice, and if he is wronged he endures till Allah takes revenge on his behalf. His own self is in distress because of him, while the people are in ease from him. He puts himself in hardship for the sake of his next life, and makes people feel safe from himself. His keeping away from those who distance themselves from him is by way of asceticism and purification, and his nearness to those who draw near to him is by way of leniency and mercifulness. His keeping away is not by way of vanity or feeling of greatness, nor his nearness by way of deceit and cheating.
It is related that Hammam passed into a deep swoon and then expired. Then Amir al-mu'minin said: Verily, by Allah I had this fear about him. Then he added: Effective advice produces such effects on receptive minds. Someone 2 said to him: O Amir al-mu'minin, how is it you do not receive such an effect? Amir al-mu'minin replied: Woe to you! For death there is a fixed hour which cannot be exceeded, and a cause which does not change. Now look, never repeat such talk which Satan had put on your tongue.

*The excellence of Ahlul Bayt (the Household of the Holy Prophet)*
Where are those who falsely and unjustly claimed that they are deeply versed in knowledge, as against us, although Allah raised us in position and kept them down, bestowed upon us knowledge but deprived them, and entered us (in the fortress of knowledge) but kept them out.
With us guidance is to be sought and blindness (of misguidance) is to be changed into brightness. Surely the Imams (divine leaders) will be from the Quraysh. They have been planted in this line through Hashim. It would not suit others nor would others be suitable as heads of affairs.
The excellence of Ahlul Bayt (the Household of the Holy Prophet)
A part of the same sermon concerning the misguided ones
They have adopted this world and abandoned the next world; left clean water and drunk stinking water. I can almost see their wicked one 1 who committed unlawful acts, associated himself with them, befriended them and accorded with them till his hair grew grey and his nature acquired their tinge. He proceeded onward emitting foam like a torrential stream not caring whom he drowned, or, like fire in straw, without realising what he burnt.
Where are the minds which seek light from the lamps of guidance, and the eyes which look at minarets of piety? Where are the hearts dedicated to Allah, and devoted to the obedience of Allah? They are all crowding towards worldly vanities and quarrelling over unlawful issues. The ensigns of Paradise and Hell have been raised for them but they have turned their faces away from Paradise and proceeded to Hell by dint of their performances. Allah called them but they showed dislike and ran away. When Satan called them they responded and proceeded (towards him). For further research - click >>>

About the Household of the Holy Prophet
Look at the people of the Prophet's family. Adhere to their direction. Follow their footsteps because they would never let you out of guidance, and never throw you into destruction. If they sit down, you sit down, and if they rise up you rise up. Do not go ahead of them, as you would thereby go astray and go not lag behind of them as you would thereby be ruined.
I have seen the companions of the Prophet but I do not find anyone resembling them. They began the day with dust on the hair and face (in hardship of life) and passed the night in prostration and standing in prayers. Sometimes they put down their foreheads and sometimes their cheeks. With the recollection of their resurrection it seemed as though they stood on live coal. It seemed that in between their eyes there were signs like knees of goats, resulting from long prostrations. When Allah was mentioned their eyes flowed freely till their shirt collars were drenched. They trembled for fear of punishment and hope of reward as the tree trembles on the day of stormy wind.

Respectfully, I don’t think that it’s right to not believe in working for your own stuff. By saying that God does everything for you and that you have 0 control over it is bound to make people not accountable for their own actions. If you want to get into medical school YOUR hard work will get you there and if you don’t work hard, it won’t happen. It’s videos like this that make me question my faith or the faith some of my fellow muslims... you should always put God on top but saying that only God matters is not right in my opinion. Family is valuable. Friends are valuable. Education is valuable.

It is good to work hard and see results and know that the hard work is from Allah but it taught you discipline and self control through the process.

Well actually in the time of the Prophet SAWS, peoples hearts were so tied to Allah swt and His messenger, that they didn’t have an issue with putting things above Allah, but as times have progressed into MODERN TIMES, this issue has become more and more prevalent, so it has a lot to do with modern Muslims because it’s our love for other things caused by a consumerist and capitalist society that has taken us away from Allah and moved us into this enlightenment idea of “the individual self” where we accredit our successes to ourselves!

    • @tonimahan7235

As an ex-Muslim who converted to Christianity about 25 years ago, I used to worship "Allah” ( God The Father in Muslim world) by Islamic faith & Quran ( Arabic Writing Book most of His Verses Praises God the Father that Muhammed imagined) , but unfortunately, I didn’t feel that He is working in my life or guides me to the best way that should I choose when things were mixed and I feel confused.
Now, as a Christian, who worships “Allah” ( God The Father in Christian world) by The Body and The Blood of Jesus Christ, I feel deep connection with The Father, I feel The “Holy Spirit”(Godly Spirit Connect All Christians With God The Father By The Believe in Jesus Christ, The Messiah that mentioned in Torah, and The Communion of His Body and Blood) guiding me every step I go and give me joy, kindness, and all things that I need in this world and satisfy my spiritual eagerness to The Real God in Heaven that Mentioned in Torah ( Holy Book of Judaism, also called Old Testament in Christianity)
Finally, I pray to God, in Jesus’s Name, and The Blessings of The Holy Spirit, that guides you to the. Best way, and comfort your heart.
Also I want to pray & share these beautiful words 👇that coming from Prince Charles to the Australian People about what going on theses days.
