    I havnt even watched the video yet, but just seeing the title I can say that I feel the same. Their standards of Islam is so much different to the Quran and Sunnah. It's such a shame to see hijabi bloggers starting their journeys with full acknowledgement to Islam, but once the fame hits, they forget Allah and do things like they want to. I honestly don't follow any hijabis because their influence is unfortunately real, and I do not want to fall into the trap of loosening my hijab or tightening my clothes. Thumbs up to you for being a great influencer at a young age without changing yourself (you're only becoming better!)

    I have struggled with which TH-cam Muslimah content is on par and which is misleading. Then there are the trolls who attack simply because they feel Muslimahs should not be doing videos. This pushed me away from the faith for a few years because I started believing that men are suppressors and that was not what I was interested in. It has only been recently that I have come back after reading books of Islam. I don't want to let trolls pull me away from what brings me peace. So I have been viewing and listening to my heart as to how the vlogs make me feel. I have unsubscribed to a few because I was not feeling the content was helping me to grow into the Muslimah I desire to be. Thank you for your open and honest conversations

      I agree with you. I am born in a muslim family but have faced this behavior multiple times. Let me tell you my side;
      My name ends with my mother's name. I never changed my name after my wedding. Although my husband wanted me to but I didnt. Secondly not only I but my sister as well. We have stood for against islam practices for women in the family, neighbourhood and workplace. I am training my teen aged daughter in the same way as my mother did. My family both in laws and parental side are proud of me. Infact, The whole next new generation and their parents like my ideas and they actually do more Islamic research than me.

      "Living in a bubble" is just a saying. For me it means that I can see through the wall of the bubble because it's clear but it works as a shelter for me. However I still need to protect my bubble. Sometimes other people want to pop your bubble intentionally or u pop it yourself thinking it's better outside. If u find your happiness then u have your bubble. U can look after it or ruin it. Doubts of other people should not concern me. Ideals of happiness of others are not mine. Human mind is easily influenced, competitive and comparative. As people we tend to forget easily about our blessings. I want to be concerned with my own life and problems and do what I consider to be the best for my life without someone telling what's best for me. So yes, it is safer in one's bubble.

    “Religion means different for different people. My practice of Islam is different than yours.”
    Like heck no! Islam has clear set guidelines that apply to everyone and must be followed if you say you are Muslim.

    I need friends like you. I've just started my journey and I'm already slacking because I don't have friends or sisters in Islam around me who are willing to open up and support newbies. So I've been relying on social media to stay motivated though it's drenched in haram stuff.

    Can we please APPLY this to both genders of Muslims please instead of just girls that everyone seems to be talking about? I used to follow Adam, Slim and Kareem on TH-cam but then they started doing lots of haraam stuff so openly like Adam's music video with that white girl, Slim constantly mentioning his love life and Kareem making inappropriate haram content. It's true Hijabi bloggers are becoming less religious but I think in general, once fame hits you people just lose the faith for the sake of popularity.

    • @SamanthaJBoyle
      @SamanthaJBoyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So true :) I only applied to females because they’re all I follow along with in the social media realm, but it’s definitely applicable to both genders!

  • @sarahh1007
    @sarahh1007 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you definitely hit the nail on the head! It's so easy to fall into the trap of social media and be influenced by what you see and hear around you. And I think the more Muslim women act in a particular way, the easier it is to copy as everyone around you is doing it😢😢
    May Allah(SWT) make it easy for all of us

    It's funny that I actually did just that a few weeks ago. Unfollowing some of my favourite influencers and creating an extra insta account for fashion brands and influencers made me consume less Instagram in general. I just scroll through my personal account once or twice a day or even once every other day. And the fashion account I only use when I feel like it or need some inspo. I really recommend doing this. It saves you a ton of time which you can use to focus on things that are more important to you.

    I think the lesson here is to consume in moderation. I respect the idea that you are what you consume and to reduce the amount of lower quality content if you find it necessary... But even that exemplifies the moderation argument. I think that cutting out the more secular things that you enjoy isn't really the solution. And you shouldn't fault yourself for it, just remember that moderation is key in everything.

  • @sz2419

    Totally agree!!! I've had some fav muslims on my list that I was following and over a time one after another I unfollowed, they started to loosen up on hijab , then the clothes evnetually they didnt even represent islam but fashion. It's really bad feeling becasue you watch their Iman go down and without realisng u are at risk becoming one of them. As much as we all like clothes I think it is wise to stay away from famous bloggers to protect our own faith.

  • @animecartoon1774
    @animecartoon1774 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    i agree with you fully. You are what you consume. Always love your videos. I created this anime cartoon account because my favorite childhood cartoon is dragon ball z. I stopped watching my usual series so i'm trying something new and different. I've always loved dbz and used to re-watch the episodes once every 2 to 3 years. I feel like the modern day series is becoming a serious and dangerous trend tbh. Some are good, but majority of the series today especially on Netflix, it all attracts a certain type of audience, like there's either too much voilence, swearing or sexual content that i dislike.

    I have recently had to do the same sis. I’ve realised the more I follow these bloggers and view their posts, the more I find myself moving away from the basics of modesty and islamic dress . I have had to unfollow certain bloggers just to ensure I am not influenced by the ‘hijabi trends’ which we may often see on social media. It’s a shame but I feel much better for it.

    This is funny to see I recently deleted my Facebook and people thought I was crazy. I got sick of scrolling through and seeing all the horrid news and stuff that wasnt good that those I considered friends would post. While I miss it in boredom my mind is more clear and I'm more interested in real life and finding something to do then wasting time scrolling. I've also found watching videos on TH-cam and not reading the comments below helps as well as they often have rude comments or people arguing.so I also generally dont comment so I dont get replies that are annoying and mess with my head I havent had cable in years and I just choose what I want to see on my phone.It's a sense of peace I cant explain.

    I automatically thought you had deleted your favorite “dawah youtubers” I was brought to your channel when doing a search for “loving for the sake of Allah”. Other than dawah and scholarly videos I listen to vloggers doing How-to videos, health videos, world news and politics, including Muslim and non Muslim oppression in the world (to be informed give in charity and advocate for change. I also listen to general education videos. That’s all I need. Jazaki Allahu Khairan for that video I mentioned. I will post it to a closed Muslim Sisters group on Facebook.
