    This has honestly been the most helpful video I have seen for BluRay writing. I made a movie for a dance company and after realizing how large a file the video was, I opted to use Blu-Ray. Having never burned dvd's I had no clue how to do this... I have already wasted over a week trying to get the dvds to work. FINALLY after seeing this video I have been able to print the movie on to the BR-r! Thank you guys SO SO much!

    Good basic tutorial. I’d love to see you do a more advanced one. Thanks so much for this!

    This helps a lot. My sister made a home-made DVD one time and I was all like "How did you make the menu and whatnot?" and she was like "I used iMovie." and I was like "Crap I got a PC." But if Adobe and Encore (And probably a Blu-Ray reader/writer) is all I need to make a home-made Blu-Ray with a menu and everything, that's great. I have Creative Cloud and I think Encore comes with that, so I don't even have to buy anything.

    This will be useful for when movies aren't released on dvd or blu ray

    Better to burn to an ISO than a folder.
    The thing that makes Encore so useful is it doesn't re-encode before creating an image/folder if the video is imported in native Bluray compliant specifications.
    Other software such as Sony Vegas will always re-encode for no reason.
    Produce an image then burn the image onto a Bluray disc using software such as Roxio.

    Great tutorial. Wish I were able to click the layers when creating buttons but it's locked and there doesn't seem to be a fix for it.

    Been waiting for two years for the Toast part of the tutorial!!! LOL, Did you ever make it? Send me link if you did.

      My apologies! At this point I haven't needed to make a Blu-ray in about two years, so I never went back to do a follow up tutorial.

      @@Madlawmedia What do you do then? Just drag over the built Blu-Ray folder of contents and burn it in Toast as a Blu-Ray? Or is there more to it? You said it's better to use Toast than Encore to burn a Blu-Ray so you've got us left with a cliffhanger there as to why! haha.

    Have you created a video about how to burn encore folder to toast?

    As far as I know Encore is no longer available, is there any software that can do the same thing as Encore?

    • @Madlawmedia
      @Madlawmedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There might be, but I'm not familiar with it. Toast and Wondershare both have basic template based DVD authoring software, but I'm not aware of any option that is as customizable as Encore.

    What if I want to add a video before the menu appears, like a company logo?

    • @Steinninn
      @Steinninn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      just add that as a 'play first' and then set the end action to go to menu

  • @BBWinner48

    So whats the difference between creating an ISO or FOLDER for final burning?

    • @Madlawmedia
      @Madlawmedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the end, nothing is different. The ISO can be loaded onto flash storage and played from a thumb drive, as well as burned to a disc, whereas the folder must be burned to a disc to be played. You'll get the same result in the end.

    When I try to link the button to the video it only shows the option to link to menu instead?

      I'm honestly not sure. Encore isn't even supported anymore through Adobe, so this video is pretty outdated at this point. Good luck!

  • @stilmotionpicture

    Does this apply to making dvd also?

    • @Madlawmedia
      @Madlawmedia  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes essentially it is the same thing. There are few different options you would need to keep in mind for a DVD, such as what settings you use to export your video from AME, as well as when you are setting up the initial project in Encore.

      MADLAWMEDIA, LLC - Like some other tutorials I've seen about Encore, you mention a Bluray Folder... is that a default folder that creates itself or do I have to create it?
      And if I have to create it...where? I mean that as in where so that the Encore program knows the folder exists? Thanks.

    • @Madlawmedia
      @Madlawmedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Blu-ray folder is created in your export from whatever editing software you are using. You will route to the folder from within Encore, so you can save it wherever you'd like.

    • @Columbovli

      When you create a Blu Ray Menu, are you able to save (save as) it as a DVD menu as well? Of course replacing the assets to make sure it works with the DVD standards... Just to save time if you need it in both.

    • @Madlawmedia
      @Madlawmedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Columbovli, the authoring mode (DVD vs. Blu-ray) can be changed anytime in the settings, so yes, you should be able to create a Blu-ray, then change to the setting to DVD and replace the assets.
