    All my videos are recorded in 1080p 60 fps.
    In this tutorial I show you how to make your own ATS truck skin. I go through how to get the files you need, what free programs you need or can use, how to use the templates and add stuff for your truck skin, removing/editing files and folders within the mod structure, and uploading it to the steam workshop all in one long and boring video.
    "Experience legendary American trucks and deliver various cargoes across sunny California, sandy Nevada, and the Grand Canyon State of Arizona. American Truck Simulator takes you on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes and widely recognized landmarks around the States."

    Thank you for putting out this video, I mod ATS myself & have been out of the game for a bit. This was an excellent refresher crash course into skin designs. I have made everything from bumpers to addon accessories and skins are by far the easiest quickest way of making your truck the way you want it. I thank you again for the tutorial.

    Hey I have a question. When I create a skin in ATS with logos, in the game itself it's stamping miniature versions of my paint on my painted accessories. Like the text on the doors is showing up small on the grill, logos on the side of the truck are showing up on the mud flaps and bumper, etc. Cannot for the life of me figure out how to get that sorted out. Just using the stock SCS trucks and using the templates that are listed in the SCS forums.

      Have you made sure that the folder structure is correct? Sounds like the dds file for your truck's paint job is somehow in the accessories folder too.
      What truck is it?

      Okie so, my next thought would be, how do you create multiple folders of skin's whith out the folders or files over powering or conflicting with the next?? Refering to ingame.. when creating the folder & files you must have to change somthing...

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CowBoyHatGaMing My guess would to be make them their own individual mods on the steam workshop so that the game considers them separate. Rather than putting them into the mods folder yourself, upload them then download them.
      I will be doing this soon when I go to make another skin for the same truck to see if this method works.

    • @CowBoyHatGaMing
      @CowBoyHatGaMing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WhiteStoneIndustries so get the template to work for the same truck just different skining/image, conflic they over power each other

    been trying to do skins for mickys drinks trailer via mod studio 2 i got the xml file and tamplate to do skins for it but when i go to add the skin to the trailer in game it shows that i have the skin but dont show up on the trailer idk what im doing wrong and why its not showing funny thing is when i go into the file of the trailer and right over a skin it works 100% fine so what could it be im doing wrong i have the same issue for the maxicube trailer as well

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have really any experience with mod studio 2. The method for skins in this video does not use it. Maybe it is not handling the .dds files correctly? Those are the ones the game looks at when accessing the mod to show the skin in game.
      I do believe that you can skin trailers the same way you skin trucks without that program(Have not really tried it yet). Maybe try skinning the trailers without mod studio 2 and move the folder structure directly into your mods folder of the game instead just to test.
      I would also double check that the folder structure of the mod is correct and that the .dds files are correct as well.

      If you mean how to get it on the game, you have to go to worldoftrucks.com and sign in or sign up for an account. Click 'my page'.
      Click the profile picture and scroll to the bottom. Then browse for your picture. Then account options, and connect your game if it is not connected already.

    Will this method allow others in CONVOY MODE to see your skin without downloading the mod?

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No method does that, none I am aware of. All players must have the mod inorder to see the skin on on each other's trucks.

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Does anything you do show up on the truck in game?
      Make sure that the truck skin .dds file is correct by opening it with your image editor and that it is in the correct place inside the folder structure of the mod.
      The .dds files are what the game looks at when you select the skin in the game. Also make sure the mod is enabled in the game's mod manager.

    • @markluke5276

      @@WhiteStoneIndustries yes the tinplate shows up on the truck this time around i just added some numbers on the truck and set that as the tinplate and it worked i guess i gotta do everything in one shot and add it that way going to try and add more thing i will let you if that worked keep you posted on the outcome thanks

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markluke5276 You don't have to do it in one shot.
      Just have to remember that any any changes you make on the skin image must be put on the .dds file then exported to that .dds file, overwriting it. Open it to make sure the changes took affect.
      If you are just putting folder structure in the game's mod folder then make sure the new .dds file is in there as well.

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries

      Are you talking about the template? If so, make sure that before you extract your skin to a .png file, that the template and any other unwanted layers in your image editor are hidden.

    I made a paintjob for the Peterbilt 389 trucks, but the Day Cab version does not show up in the game shop. The Low and Ultra both do..

    • @WhiteStoneIndustries
      @WhiteStoneIndustries  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Are you absolutely sure that the .dds file is in the same folder as the others? And are you sure you properly over wrote the .dds file?
      I only ask because the truck skin I did for the 389 required I edit all three .dds files (389daycab.dds) (389low.dds) (389ultra.dds)
      What might be best is to re-acquire original example mod folder you downloaded, copy the (389daycab.dds) from it and paste it into your mod folder. Then try again to overwrite the .dds with your skin image.
