    Absolutely Brilliant video.
    It proves that having the proper advice really pays off .I spoke to Sam after the video and he says they had to edit 30 minutes because of TH-cam time constraints.
    It shows how much the full length video must have been regarding extra in depth advice.
    I know Sam works really hard and is determined to give the very best advice to all his customers.
    I wish him every Success in his future ventures.
    He certainly deserves it. ⛳⛳

    Listening to Sam explain the difference in shaft and weight is starting to make sense.
    I didn’t realise how changing a weight can increase or decrease your spin rate in the way it appears to do.
    Watching this vlog has helped. Excellent vlog.
    More content like this please. Cheers

    Great video, I love all this tech stuff. Nice to see an honest fitter, I went to a well known High Street golf shop and they fitted me with a stiff shaft, I could hardly lift it, I would have been better off with a mop and a cream egg. More tech videos please 👍

    Great content Gaz (and Sam)! I urgently needed a shaft for my driver last year &, coincidentally, found Sam via an online search - I didn’t have a fitting, as I thought it was a straightforward replacement, but Sam’s customer service was outstanding & he was obviously very knowledgeable. Having watched this today, I now want to find time to book a professional fitting with Sam to see if it’ll make my drives straighter & further! 🤞

    Sam went into great detail. I would be worried about low ball flight to help reduce spin. Particularly if you play courses with dog legs, where you need to go over trees. On a links, fantastic.

    • @danielwarren2355
      @danielwarren2355 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The peak height of the driver is around 105ft, so it's definitely not a low ball flight, it was just a little low launching on the day.

  • @ianwaller5700

    Good to see Dan change the tee peg, can't see the point of a fitting if your going to have to manipulate your swing to suit a tee peg which isn't the correct height.

    Unfortunately most club fittings are more about the sale than the fitting. I am yet to be fitted properly for any clubs. The other issues is the way some of the fitters "setup" their so called course conditions.

  • @tomashmore4128
    @tomashmore4128 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interested why you didn't get him to try the the Ventus TR Blue has alot of aspects of the black but with a slightly softer mid section and just because a shaft says a weight number on it doesn't mean it is that weight Sam 100% knows this as he is a good fitter but would have been good to explain that to the viewer as the 1k white he tried in a 50x is actually a 59g shaft happens alot with shafts very rare the number on the shaft is the actual correct weight.

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I go for my fitting, I’ll ask him to present to the audience rather than the person being fitted. It’s not easy when you’re on camera, he was focusing on dans experience, most likely trying not to overload him with information, and we was just observing. He did actually try the blue Tr and others but I couldn’t capture every moments as the fit was 2 hours, so I only included one spec from
      Each manufacturer. Thanks for watching

  • @steve827
    @steve827 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tbh he needs a softer golf shaft… see this is where TPT is perfect
    His playing with the firmest/stiffest profiles from manufacturers.. he needs something that kicks harder to square the face and control his loft, everything is too too stiff
    Ventus red or a TR red .. even a blue board profile 1k
    Blue

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      VENTUS RED 👀 It would go backwards into the wind 😅

    • @steve827
      @steve827 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garymartingolf nah trust me the profile isn’t that bad .. his issue is path and face angle , look at all the long drive guys they swing 160mph and use lady flex ok they use 2 deg of loft but there’s a lot of evidence out there now that supports MPOV
      I swing it 125mph and use a 16HI tpt nitro .. and I’m aggressive as hell in transition, i went from a black TR 7x /hulk you name it , the moment I went softer ball speed increased and late I’m the round I go energy still
      Min woo lee used a red 7x forever and his like crusing in the 190 ball speeds
      Ultra stiff profiles aren’t the way to go anymore there too much science in it ..
      showing otherwise

    • @danielwarren2355
      @danielwarren2355 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@steve827I think you could make a case for some other shafts, but each will have pros and cons along the way.
      I came into the fitting wanting a more penetrating ball flight with less spin and to try and lose or limit the miss right and we did this. The Hulk to me felt the nicest, it's really stable and compared to the others I felt like I knew where the head was.
      Excuses a side, I was swinging terribly on the day, I couldn't even hit my 7i well 😂 since then I've been at the range/ on my simulator and the numbers are good and what I'm looking for, so will give it a season and then we can really tell if it's the shaft for me or not.

    • @danielwarren2355
      @danielwarren2355 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's usually much lower (around 2-4 on trackman) however, back issues are killing any kind of completed turn/swing and therefore no depth just leads to coming over the top etc

    • @guyr7351
      @guyr7351 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same, his strike (like mine) is out to in, reducing that to a more neutral strike should be the first goal. That surely is generating most of the side spin?
      I also suffer from back issues having had a spinal fusion op over 30 years ago, so my back tends to stiffen up during a round esp if it’s slow play
