Trev, we would love to see you try DCS World! It's basically this only 10 times more detailed/in-depth, and with combat.
That might be a bit tough for him right now. VTOLVR is a better choice.

The problem with the Sydney aircraft carrier is that you were to high, to off center and a bit to quick. The winds keep pushing you off center and foward therefore increasing speed and making a bolter, you should have been lower and slower.

Also needs to keep nose down with joy stick after landing he keeps letting go after touch down and it put the nose up
Not to mention the cables. They keep snapping every time he lands. It's really frustrting
Tip: There is no set landing speed for carrier landings, you should be using your throttle primarily for controlling glide slope not pitching with the stick. Trim to maintain your AOA indexer and stop trying to flare and make the hook catch. Watch some of the DCS World Case I recoveries and you'll rocket your score up!

Hi I am a big fan
Do some private pilot routines. There are plenty of simmers that will actualy teach you how to fly in MSFS. I'd say that taking your PPL license for real is a worthwile experience too Trev.
Currently learning a lot from those simmers, and one day hopefully I'll hop in a real aircraft too
I've had mine for 2 years and I'm getting giddy watching him flare just a touch too early and picking up a little speed toward the very end of the carrier. Been known to do that a time or 2 in a Skyhawk and porpoise in my younger years.
Something that Ive always wanted to see as a kid. Im an adult now thru college and I cant watch anymore. :( . Love you Trev thanks for the childhood memories and the amazing series past.
For crosswinds turn into the direction of where the wind is coming from. If it's a crosswind from the right for example turn with aileron to the right and apply left rudder to keep it centered :D if you come in too slow with a crosswind it will blow you around quite a bit since the wind applies more force on the plane than the flight controls will let you correct with since the controls are less sensitive and effective at lower speed.
Respect the effort Trevor! These weather ones are definitely very difficult so don't feel bad for no completing them, thanks for bringing us more MS Flight SIm!!

Speed is what sets your altitude in any aircraft, Try to be more on par with the speed and use the "ladder" to see where you will be ending up, more speed the "ladder" goes up, less speed the "ladder" goes down. On a carrier it's more like you "crash" on to the deck rather than landing because you always fly it as if you're going to overshoot it on purpose for the reason to actually be able to go around if you need to. Also, you don't see the "ladder" the landing gear isn't extended, that's one way to tell from the inside view...

In Sydney Australia in the the challenge you must land on the aircraft Carrier and you must have to make contact with all four wires because the run way is even more slippery because it’s wet because of the storm ⛈

Good video once again😇 you could try to land that sidney one just a bit lower speed than 120 kts
I think the problem is that you are flaring too much and continue to hold back pressure on the stick through the landing. After touchdown I believe stick should be neutral if not forward pressure. I am a pilot but not a fighter pilot so I’m really just spitballing.

make a far a head right first then make a 90 degree turn to line up and allow to have more times to adjust attitude and alingment before the landing .

I was thinking the problem is your communications are out, therefore you should do a flyby of the carrier for two reasons: To look for obstacles on the runway, and let the carrier know you're coming.
Maybe make sure anti skid is on and pull the stick forward so you don't do a wheelie... Just a thought

Trev you need to keep pushing the nose down after landings till you stop. you keep letting go of your joy stick and touch downs and it’s pitching your nose up that’s why you keep flying back up

Your AoA on these landings is pretty high. You’re dropping altitude fast and bouncing the landing.

your nose raises too quick on wire catch, try once you get caught by wire, to force nose down. push the stick forward

What yoke do you use for flight sim?
Flying over the ocean in pitch black is unnerving as all hell!!!
You should crank your in game and or monitor brightness to see better
Fly the SR-71 Blackbird in MSFS
There is a thing next to the speed on the left to get a perfect glide
The thing your referring to is called a Tail Hook
You need to push the node down after catching the wire
Try pushing your pitch/stick down and you need to play DCS
Once the tail hook catches Trev, push the nose down to make sure it doesn't pitch up. Also, DON'T flare. Hit the deck and push the nose down, then set the parking brake or apply full manual braking
