Santuario Madonna della Rosa | Monticelli Brusati | BS

- Il santuario è ubicato nel punto più panoramico del colle detto Monte della Madonna. Secondo la tradizione popolare il tempio fu edificato sul luogo dove avvenne la miracolosa apparizione della Vergine ad un contadino assetato al quale indicò la fonte per dissetarsi. Sul luogo dove apparve la Madonna fiorì inoltre un roseto.
L’architettura della chiesa richiama strutture simili del XV secolo: presbiterio rettangolare voltato, aula unica con tetto a capanna sorretto da archi traversi. Al XVI secolo risale la costruzione del campanile e del protiro antistante l’ingresso e la cappella del lato sud.
All’interno del santuario sono presenti affreschi realizzati cronologicamente dal XV al XVIII secolo.
