    My 2 favorite vehicles were both 1993 TBI trucks. One was 4.3L V6 and the other was a 350. When you take care of those engines, they run forever. And they are really cheap and easy to work on.

    Got a mot tre out of one of those one time and dropped it in an ‘89 suburban. Paid $100 at a junkyard because it apparently had a cracked head and the motor that was originally in the suburban had a spun rod bearing but with brand new heads from the previous owner. Slapped the new heads on the LT1 short block and it was a goin ta town rig.

    I just discovered your channel and its awesome, I subscribed. I bought a new Trans am in 94 , Lt1 engine. it was my daily driver till I bought a new car in 2005.and have had 3 new cars since that one. I Couldn't let it go, still have it 26 years later, 337.000 miles on it, engine never been touched, even timing chain original. Still runs fantastic, uses no oil, and still looks nearly new in and out. Transmission was replaced once at about 160.000 miles with a factory rebuilt unit, still working fine.

    TBI 350: the slowest 350 I have ever seen lol. But flip the lid on the old air filterer and it’ll make better Quadrajet sounds than an actual quadrajet makes.

    • @gnd8024
      @gnd8024 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Steven Vanheel agreed did that on my 1990 Chevy suburban those ole engines are complete gutless dogs but they make up for it with that moan and reliability

    • @Twitch_Moderator
      @Twitch_Moderator 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      It's not a TBI 350. It's an LO5 350. Yes, it is throttle-body injected but you can't sum ALL TBI 350's up as the same engines. Take a look at the power specs. Take a look at the air intake assembly. There is no lid to flip. It is a flex vacuum intake style to a box filter throttle-body assembly. The pickup trucks (incl. G30, 2500/3500 and Suburban) had 210 hp 300 ft. Lbs. They used an air-cleaner simillar to a carburetor style. So weak? In the truck and SUV's/vans? ABSOLUTELY!! Plus those vehicles weight 4,200 Lbs to 6,500 Lbs. Of course they are weak for that application.
      A TBI 350 is great for a car. Especially with a few small, cheap, easy mods.

      @justinstearns9723 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ve got a 95 K1500 Suburban with that TBI 350. Slow to get up to speed yes, but that 300 ft lbs comes in low. She’ll drag whatever you hook to her.

    I have and drive daily a 1992 Caprice Classic w/just under 89,000 miles on it----was gifted to me by my dad about a year or so ago.
    The original owner (guy prior to my dad) ordered it from the factory to include the 5.0 9C1 Police 305 (the 9C1's were available that year as a 5.0 or the 5.7).... LOVE the ride and it is indeed one of the last of it's kind in the big rear wheel drive sleds.............

    Man, these are great cars. I have one just like that, as others have stated the 92 Roadmasters didn't have LT1's. Also, the Infl. Rest. light on the dash is checking for the airbag and if the light goes out like yours did it means you're all good to go. If the light stays on then you have an issue with your airbag.

    Had one of those Caprices about a 150 years ago. I'd say around maybe 70's. I don't know! We called it the Ark because it smelled kind of like a circus tent when l bought it. Sweetie Pie #2 hauled a Harliquin Great Dane around in all the time so it didn't take long for it to start smell in like a dog pen. I traded it for something else and somebody bought it and drove it around my home town for years. Great video😎

    Folks had a 76 Olds Custom Cruiser lead sled, with the big ol 455 in her. It would haul the 9 of us around with room to spare. Since I was the oldest I got to spend a lot of time at the helm piloting this land yacht while mom and dad relaxed in the middle seat and kept peace within the tribe. Lots of good memories. Dad ended up turning her into a construction truck. Made for nice comfortable rides on longs hauls to the construction sites. She never missed a gas station.

    Enjoyed your video-lol-Had a 96 Roadmaster wagon-with the LT-1-paid 800.00, did a quick 200.00 paint job, and certified it for the road for another 600.00. Put 20000km (12000 miles) in 2 years I had it, including a family holiday pulling a camper out east and back in 2012- 3000 or so miles. Got great mpg- Reliable beast- Sold it and the camper-actually made a few hundred on the wagon, broke even on camper. And hauled drywall. my photography gear for photo shoots. Maybe i shoulda kept her...

    I bought a 95 last year. Love it! Had a 94 Impala years ago and I'm excited to have another B-Body. I like the door pull handles and roof rack better on this 92! GM made a mistake changing them up IMO. Maybe the quick release began to fail after a lot of use but those door pull handles look dip much stronger. I gave a few that have been repaired but don't ever let a 5 year old pull it. Done son.

    The LT-1 wasn't used until 1994. Unless someone stuck an LT-1 in this car later which is not difficult to do.

      Mullay2 Nope 92 in the Corvette in which it was batchfrire. 93 in the Camaro & Firebird, by 94 they had gotten sequential port F.I. 94 is actually the best year, as far as the ecm was not as cumbersome with modifications. 92 it was used in some of these wagons, but had iron heads, and some were actually not 350, some were 4.3L baby LT1's. 350 LT1s had differences. I know them.

      Can tell by the air intake that it is still the L05 V8 n not LT1. Yes 94-96 only had LT1s or someone coulda dumped one in but certainly not the case here..funny guy tho.
