This is one of my favorite skits from Abbott and Costello. He really fast talking the landlord 😂. Thanks for the reaction to this. Blessings to you and your family from the Great State of Texas 🇺🇸
I was just helping my daughter with her math homework. We finished, and this video popped up! I love Abbot and Costello. This clip, almost nobody ever mentions, not only does Costello bamboozle the landlord out of his rent, he does it by marking up the wall in the hallway! Costello's accent is New Jersey - close to New York (just across the Hudson river).
This was old when I was born and I am 56 but we absolutely would sit in a trance in front of the TV if they were on. Good times! Why did the landlord let him draw on the wall.
Most of Abbott & Costello's sketches were decades old burlesques and vaudeville routines. Legend has other comics hated A & C because once they put their bits on films the other comics could no longer preform them live because they were Abbott & Costello routines.
They have many other funny videos. A few of my favorites are: Loafing: th-cam.com/video/tRs37ugCxyM/w-d-xo.html Handcuffs: th-cam.com/video/XPQ4bCLybSE/w-d-xo.html Alexander 4444: th-cam.com/video/c2AsU2WpJnc/w-d-xo.html 3 Bananas: th-cam.com/video/44A6ZWEOqHA/w-d-xo.html Dice: th-cam.com/video/rIYTQ8vkKaI/w-d-xo.html
That is Lou Costello. Bud Abbott is the straight man. If you haven't seen "Who's on First", it is the greatest skit to ever be made. Lou talks fast, so you might want to have the words brought up.
I love these two. They are crazy funny 😅 When television had Some morals or rules. When the whole family could sit and laugh. People are trying to make us lose the gift of laughter. I can't and don't want to be in a place where laughter is unacceptable.
Thanks for doing another "classic." I worry that some of these classic comedians and bits will disappear. My parents grew up with this stuff. I watched it because they knew it was genius comedy. But anymore, 2000s are hardy remembered, much less the mid 1900s.
I have a distant memory of a routine Abbott & Costello did about horse racing. It was word play with the horse terms “mudder” and “fodder” being mingled with “mother” and “father”. They were geniuses with comedic timing. This is what makes their routines so hilarious and timeless. BTW, you are pronouncing their names correctly; also, your ability to keep up with their pace when English is not your first language, shows that you have a fine mastery of it. So, there’s no need to apologize for your English, as I’ve heard you do sometimes. Keep up the good work! 😊❤
I'm beginning to think that you should have been born in the 1940s 50s and 60s and 70s. You seem to like old America that doesn't really exist much anymore
There is another one along the same comedic topic "Ma and Pa Kettle do High Math". You should check it out also. lol Abbot and Costello, Ma and Pa Kettle, Laurel and Hardy... all great comedy teams of the past.
Lou Costello was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, which is in the northern part of the state near New York City. His partner, Lou Abbot, is from Asbury Park, New Jersey, which is central part of the state close to the Atlantic Ocean. Their accents are slightly different.
I recently watched a slew of the Univeral Abbott and Costello movies. Most are at least a C+ with some getting an A+. "Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man," is my favorite. It's about boxing and there is a fantastically funny boxing bit in the movie.
If you like Abbott and Costello, you will like The Three Stooges. "A Plumbing We Will Go", "How High Is Up?" and "An Ache in Every Stake." are some of my favorites.
If you haven't watched them do "Who's On First" you're really missing something! I love Abbott and Costello movies, especially the monster movies. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein has to be the best because besides Frankenstein, it also has the Mummy and the Wolfman. Good times! 😃
That's excellent and it's almost never reacted to. People do "Who's on First" followed by 7 x 13 = 28" and no matter how many times you tell them that Abbott and Costello have lots of other funny routines, they almost never pay attention. It's maddening.
My grandchildren’s new math stuff seems a lot like this to me. The eventually come out withe right answer but it seems like so much more work than memorizing the times tables and other things we learned years ago.
I have a learning disability with numbers. In essence, I am dyslexic with numbers, to the point where I will look at a number-4952, say- and come up with 6871! I know just how that landlord feels! I hated math.
This is Abbott and Costello but Abbott isn't in this skit except for the very beginning which was cut off in the version your watching... the person that is in this skit with Costello is Sydney Fields (both his real name and the characters name, just like Abbott and Costello). Sydney Fields is in a few of there skits and I believe he helped come up with some of Abbott and Costello skits... "Field's employment agency" is probably the best one he's in... definitely check that one out... Some other good ones are: "Who's one first" "Dice" "Handcuffs" "Niagra falls" There is also whole other 7 x 13 = 28 where they are on vacation or something like that, it's not about rent. One day I'm going to have to watch their full shows, but there clips are classics, as funny now as they were 70+ years ago.
There are two A&C skits I like to recommend: Who's on First and Craps. I like your reactions. I hope you find the original b/w videos as this one has been colorized.
The chubby guy is Costello. Lou Costello. His normal straight man ie team buddy is Bud Abbott who is not in this skit. The bald guy is a dude who sometimes plays these side characters. I used to know his name. And Abbott is pronounced AHH-but. First syllable pronounced with a short /a/ like apple. Keep them coming.
I was mindlessly enjoying this clip, I have seen many times before, then you had to bring in Laurel and Hardy. Now I'm racking my brain, trying to figure out which one is best. Leave well enough alone. 😂
@@davidcooper4533 You don`t have to pick. Just watch both. 🙂 Watch "Hog Wild" with Laurel & Hardy. Then if your sides are not hurting too badly, dive right into "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein". Win win all around.
That's exactly what it tells, a story. Recommend the actual Fort McHenry website, that tells the real story, unless you're stuck on recommending propaganda?
Lou Costello was born in New Jersey in Paterson, New Jersey. They have a beautiful park dedicated to his name. He's a Jersey boy. The best in the United States come from New Jersey such as I love your show. Keep up the good work and the best wishes to you from New Jersey. U s a the home of Lewis costello
Such a classic 😂, I'm over 60 years old and have seen it many times but it still makes me laugh ❤
They are amazing right?
I grew up with them in the 50's no one better.
@@european-reacts If you like Abbott & Costello, you really need to watch The Marx Brothers. I'd reccomend starting with "Tootsi-Frootsi Ice Cream"
One of my favorite skits by Abbott and Costello is "Who's on first?..." You'll die laughing if you watch it! 😂
He already reacted to that.
We want him to watch things he will survive!😂
I've seen this skit many times and somehow it can still make me feel confused 😂
This is one of my favorite skits from Abbott and Costello. He really fast talking the landlord 😂. Thanks for the reaction to this.

ty so much my friend

Ma and Pa Kettle did something similar to this. This is actually my favorite skit of Abbott and Costello, but I like many of their shows.
🌟I hope you enjoyed this one! Also my patreon if you want extra content: www.patreon.com/europeanreacts -
They do make you question your math skills, don't they. lol
This was old when I was born and I am 56 but we absolutely would sit in a trance in front of the TV if they were on. Good times!
Why did the landlord let him draw on the wall.
Have you seen their "Who's on First" routine. It is arguably the funniest comedy routine in history.
Abbott & Costello are still funny 80 years later and so entertaining and it’s clean comedy too!❤
They were my favorite back in the 60's when I was a kid. Love their movies too 😂
Susquehanna hat company sketch is absolutely hilarious.
Most of Abbott & Costello's sketches were decades old burlesques and vaudeville routines. Legend has other comics hated A & C because once they put their bits on films the other comics could no longer preform them live because they were Abbott & Costello routines.
Just for your info. It's June 1st, Texas temps are in 100+ everyday and will stay there
until end of September. Humidity is worst. Have fun....

They were an amazing comedy team. You should watch their movies, they always add one of their skits to them.

You mean Bud Abbott.
This is another of their awesome bits. They are to me the foundation of Comedy.
Love this skit!
Lou here is using Common Core Math.
I recently watched a slew of the Univeral Abbott and Costello movies. Most are at least a C+ with some getting an A+. "Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man," is my favorite. It's about boxing and there is a fantastically funny boxing bit in the movie.

I just do not see the humor in The Three Stooges
If you haven't watched them do "Who's On First" you're really missing something! I love Abbott and Costello movies, especially the monster movies. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein has to be the best because besides Frankenstein, it also has the Mummy and the Wolfman. Good times! 😃
You will LOVE Abbott & Costello's sketch called "Loafing"! My favorite!
That's excellent and it's almost never reacted to. People do "Who's on First" followed by 7 x 13 = 28" and no matter how many times you tell them that Abbott and Costello have lots of other funny routines, they almost never pay attention. It's maddening.
A couple more classic Abbot & Costello routines: Susquehanna Hat Company, and the Mustard skit.
My grandchildren’s new math stuff seems a lot like this to me. The eventually come out withe right answer but it seems like so much more work than memorizing the times tables and other things we learned years ago.
Didn't Skip a Beat ! Know lets Move on.
This colored clip cuts out the beginning which has Abbott in it
Try their skit called "Dice"...
Great reaction. You should react to Robin Williams as the American Flag. It is great!
What is remarkable is coming up with 3 numbers (7, 13, 28) that you can do crazy math with and come up with these answers.
Go watch Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein or Abbott and Costello meets Dracula and I also think there is Abbott and Costello meets The Mummy
This particular video has been shown on TH-cam just recently already.
Niagara Falls is one of my favorite skits for abbot and Costello
They also do this skit in the film “In the Navy” (1941) but instead of rent it’s doughnuts.
I have a learning disability with numbers. In essence, I am dyslexic with numbers, to the point where I will look at a number-4952, say- and come up with 6871! I know just how that landlord feels! I hated math.
So Lou Costello invented common core math! 😂
Thanks for this great comedy skit. Always good to have some laughs. 👏👏🥰

Costello was born in New Jersey. That's the probably accent you're hearing.
🤪 looks right to me 🥸
Can't go wrong with A&C. There's a lot of material there.
I’ve never seen this in color before.
Ma and Pa do math is another good skit
There are two A&C skits I like to recommend: Who's on First and Craps. I like your reactions. I hope you find the original b/w videos as this one has been colorized.
those guys were genius
How about "Watts and Volts."
Loce this skit! Def should checl out loafing lol
if you are going old school comedy, you should seriously check out Charlie Chaplin, dude is much like Bean, makes you laugh without saying a word.
Yes, his accent is an old NY accent.
Should also watch ma and pa kettle. They did a different set of numbers
Just to be clear... Abbott is the man on the right (leaving the scene) in the beginning of this clip. He is not the man playing the land lord.
The landlord was Sidney Fields, who was a regular on their TV show.
You gotta watch ''Two tens for a five''.
They have one called the dice game thats 😂😂😂
You need to do Who’s on first?
Their more famous and iconic routine
The chubby guy is Costello. Lou Costello. His normal straight man ie team buddy is Bud Abbott who is not in this skit. The bald guy is a dude who sometimes plays these side characters. I used to know his name. And Abbott is pronounced AHH-but. First syllable pronounced with a short /a/ like apple. Keep them coming.
His name is Sidney Fields, a regular on A & C's 1952-53 television show who played their landlord using his own name.
Abbott is in this skit at the beginning. It simply wasn't shown here.
You need to visit the south coast of the Massachusetts U.S. The Portuguese people have the greatest population in the U.S.!
There were many great comedy teams. But these guys were one of the best ones. In my opinion, only Stan Laurel & Olliver Hardy were better.
I was mindlessly enjoying this clip, I have seen many times before, then you had to bring in Laurel and Hardy. Now I'm racking my brain, trying to figure out which one is best. Leave well enough alone. 😂

I would recommend checking out “the star spangled banner as you’ve never heard before” it tells the interesting history of the US national anthem
That's exactly what it tells, a story.
Recommend the actual Fort McHenry website, that tells the real story, unless you're stuck on recommending propaganda?
I have their DVD movie box.
🤣 how long did it take to write this script?! it was great!
American Math!
I really wish they'd stop colorizing these old black and white clips on youtube, you can't find the originals anymore

Yack yack
React to the cover of running up that hill by social repose
You should react to Laurel and Hardy too
You should probably identify yourself by your nationality and not by a trading block.
That is Costello
André, are you going to tell your friends about this video?
❤
WHUT ...EH?
Try their routine two tens for a five
