I've actually one of Al Bundy's replies...and I did it during a wedding. I was a groomsman, and one of the bridesmaids kept trying to get me to go on a date with her. The bride and groom, being sadistic friends, decided to pair that particular bridesmaid with me for the event - which is one of the reasons they were my friends (we're all more than slightly sarcastic and mildly sadistic toward each other). At the end of the ceremony, when each bridesmaid and groomsman were coming together to walk down the aisle, the bridesmaid actually said the Peggy Bundy line, "So, did you miss me?" ...to which, without missing a beat, I immediately replied, "With every bullet so far." The wedding photographer caught the results of this exchange on film, with me smiling and the bridesmaid glaring, and THAT was the photo which the newlywed couple had printed, framed, and mounted above their fireplace.

You mentioned his comedy being easy, but the relatability to the character was deeper than the jokes. This is how many men his age either were, felt, or wanted to be if it wasnt going to result in a fight. I’m not sure the humor would hit the same way in other countries but I grew up watching All in the Family, M.A.S.H., The Jeffersons, etc. Most gen Z would melt into puddles at the humor from those shows. 😂
MASH, the Adams Family, and Beverly Hillbillies re-runs made up much of my childhood TV watching. Oddly, Morticia and Gomez probably have one of the healthiest and modern relationships for a sitcom of that, and this, time.
There are actually about a dozen foreign remakes of the show. Some even used the same scripts as the original and just switched out jokes that were too American specific.
The most memorable for me is Al Bundy's, Bad to the Bone episode, when he didn't want Peg's decorating class touring their home and she had decorated their bathroom.
That was a great episode, I always liked the one where Al’s car speedometer was just going hit one million miles then it broke down just before it turned over 😂
“Married With Children” was on television in the US from 1987 until 1997. It was extremely popular because nothing this outrageous had even been on American television before, but it also offended a lot of people who tried to get the show stopped.
Europe is a continent with dozens of countries with dozens of languages. It’s possible one of them made a version. But most watched, and loved, the original.
I loved this show. I had such a hard job at the time, and the highlight of my day was getting home and watching Married with Children. The casting was brilliant because they took a serious, classic actor and put him in a sit com. Christina Applegate as the daughter was also stellar casting.
Married with Children was a savage sitcom, even back before everyone got wussy and comedians took pride in being offensive. Al Bundy was a former football star whose life went to shambles - trapped as a mall shoe salesman with a nagging wife and disrespectful kids, he's got nothing left to lose so he holds nothing back. Particularly with Marcie who, ever since moving in next door, never passed up any opportunity to insult Al - he returned the 'favor' by never passing up any opportunity to hit her with some form of "chicken" insult. "Jenny Craig" and "Slim-Fast" were popular weight loss programs of the era. If you get the chance, find the Married with Children Christmas Special with Sam Kinneson called "It's a Bundyful Life". Your sides will be aching for days from laughing so hard!
I am an extremely fat woman and this was hilarious. I grew up in the 80s when people weren't offended by everything. People knew how to laugh at themselves and if they didn't like a particular show or character they simply didn't watch it. Great reaction!
I used to watch this when it was actually on the air. Watched every episode. So frickin funny. The whole shows were funny. People back then had a sense of humor and actually understood what a joke was.
I'm late to finding this but I'll answer your question anyway. Everyone I knew (including myself) LOVED this show at the time. All of the characters are epic. I'm so glad you enjoyed this!
How can you not know Married With Children, this TV serie was extremely popular throughout Europe in the 80s & 90s and was on re-run for many years in pretty much every western European country. Second to Friends when it comes to how many times it was aired.
The Fox entertainment network was founded on this show -- *Married with Children* -- and *The Simpsons* as two of the biggest TV shows at the time, which brought in eyeballs and ad revenue to start the channel.
The story is of a guy great in high-school football on his way to a possible college scholarship, but at the "big play" at the state championship flubbed and dropped the ball, leading to the other school winning. AND now how his life has never worked out for the better ever since and he's bitter about it. Absolute great premise. It was the total reverse of all the feel good family sitcoms of the 60's and 70's.
I've seen every episode!😂 Good times😅

The most memorable for me is Al Bundy's, Bad to the Bone episode, when he didn't want Peg's decorating class touring their home and she had decorated their bathroom.
That was a great episode, I always liked the one where Al’s car speedometer was just going hit one million miles then it broke down just before it turned over 😂
“Married With Children” was on television in the US from 1987 until 1997. It was extremely popular because nothing this outrageous had even been on American television before, but it also offended a lot of people who tried to get the show stopped.
This show was on in 90’s and Al Bundy was my idol
It was great loved it😊
I love/ loved Married With Children. I grew up on this show. I remember when the show first came out. I’m Gen X
I met Al Bundy (Ed O’Neil) on set when I was 10 years old in 1990. Still the best day of my life!
Married With Children ran from 1982 - 1993. The actor is Ed O'Neill and he did star on Modern Family.
I absolutely love al bundy!! I always die of laughter!!
I herd that Europe has their own version of this show. I wish i could watch it ( with sub titles ) and see the differences . Great show LOL
I think that was the Russian series "Happy Together" that was on for a few years. It was a remake of Married With Children.
Thank you , i will try look it up. I speak a tiny bit of Russian will help me improve @@genghispecan
The Show was awesome back in the day. Still fun to go back and watch some episodes.
I family grew up watching Al Bundy and we loved the show till now 2024
Married with Children was a savage sitcom, even back before everyone got wussy and comedians took pride in being offensive.
Iconic show. Laughed every episode. Very popular in the US
I grew up watching this show with my family on Sunday evenings. We loved it and always laughed
One of my favorite TV shows. I grew up on this classic
One I really like is Al: "Peg. Would you like a BMW?" Peg: "No. I kinda see myself inside a Jaguar." Al: "Oh, if only we can find one that hungry."
Laughter is the best medicine, great reaction
Best show ever
To bad they can't have shows like that anymore
Very sad
How can you not know Married With Children, this TV serie was extremely popular throughout Europe in the 80s & 90s and was on re-run for many years in pretty much every western European country. Second to Friends when it comes to how many times it was aired.
The Fox entertainment network was founded on this show -- *Married with Children* -- and *The Simpsons* as two of the biggest TV shows at the time, which brought in eyeballs and ad revenue to start the channel.
And Cops
Married with children is one of the longest running tv series in history. Show was on like 20 years.
I am forty five years old and this was one of my favorite shows growing up
ED O'Neal, who plays Al Bundy is a savage. Married with Children is a fantastic series.
My hubby and I watched all the episodes. Also All In The Family. Two of the best shows ever.
al bundy is a world wide treasure
Married With Children was an AMAZING show.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ah my 90s kidhood show😂
