That's why the 2nd amendment is such an important constitutional right. The right to bear arms. Without the military, the people can form militias. In Pennsylvania alone, there are almost a million registered hunters and you can bet they have more than one firearm.
To put that into perspective, India and China each have fewer than 3 million in their entire militaries (only around 10% of an army fights, most are needed in logistics). The US has at least 100 million gun owners (and about 46% of the world's guns).
One thing I haven't seen people mention in the comments is that not only does civilians owning guns allow them to fight if we were invaded, but perhaps even more importantly, in a drawn out war, the military can recruit people who already know how to shoot.
And, in many cases, can even bring their own gun (using the same ammo that the military uses) with them; saving on the cost of equipping the new soldier (something that few, if any, other countries can take advantage of).

To be clear: You can - in fact - own an automatic rifle and store it in your home in America. You need a special permit that requires jumping through some hoops and those guns tend to be more difficult (expensive) to acquire, but you can. By and large, lawful gun owners will have semi-automatics Bear in mind though that 3d printing, aftermarket parts, and modifications exist that allow you to get an almost or truly automatic firearm... but again, that's going to be rare
@@cody7149 If nothing else, there are actually advantages for civilians to be using semi-autos during an invasion of the homeland. Semi-automatic fire tends to be far more accurate; and, wastes less ammo (both useful when resupply is uncertain). For that matter, military training has largely been de-emphasizing the use of automatic fire for anything besides keeping the enemy's head down. Even then, they prefer to use actual machine guns for this, rather than the standard carbines.
Up at our cabin, I once saw our neighbor starting his camp fire with a flamethrower. When I asked him about it, he said his friend brought his flamethrower up with him. Talk about a firearm! hahaha
The 2nd Amendment protects our right to defend ourselves and establish "well regulated militia". Each city and town could raise a militia, military or no military.
The second is out dated, it was written when people had flintlocks. The only guns people should be allowed to own today are those used for hunting. That doesn't include assault rifles and explosive devices. As far as regulated militias, that part is null and void since the national guard was formed.
@@mlt6322 The US Supreme Court, and every Constitutional expert disagrees with you. In addition, fully automatic weapons are in fact legal to purchase for civilians, so long as you do the proper paperwork and pay for the tax stamp. Explosive devices are significantly less regulated than automatic firearms, as you don't need any paperwork to purchase stuff like fireworks. (which are more than capable of destroying buildings if properly assembled)
@@btgbullseye every issue ever decided regarding the 2nd amendment beyond its initial adoption was paid for by the manufacturers of said firearms. This realization is what prompted the idea of "Manifest Destiny". They saw the potential and viewed it as a blessing from God that they were meant to take possession of.
We are incredibly blessed by our geography & the general understanding of at least half the country is armed w/legal firearms. And anyone trying to subdue any cities would face well armed police & sheriff departments...and well armed gangs...they are currently at odds, but if America was attacked i have a feeling that would be put aside at least temporarily. We saw this on 9/11 where cops, firemen civilians & gang bangers worked side by side to rescue people wherever possible.
Realistically, a large percentage of the gangs would just try and set themselves up as warlords to try and gain control of the supply lines. At least in 2A supporting areas, these efforts would be quickly shot down by the local, law abiding, civilians.
This old vet is still playing catch up. You are almost as blunt as me. How can I not just love that. You are right about the fires. It goes way more deeper. 😅
The Supreme Court struck down the ban against the manufacture and possession of Bump Stocks the device that allows semi automatic to function like machine guns ie automatic firing. So yes, civilians can have these at the moment.
Ammo hoarders drive up the cost of ammo while making it easy to capture and use against the rest of us in a real invasion scenario. We'd be better off with more people being able to afford 10k rounds in a few calibers vs having a few thousand people with millions of rounds in every denomination you can imagine.
One thing the guy in the video didn't mention is that not only is the country filled with guns, but we have tens of thousands of guys who willingly get up at 3:00AM in freezing weather and spend hours in a tree stand or blind for the chance to kill something. Deer, duck, invading soldier... I'm sure it would be all the same to any of them.

I think the latest stats I read were there are 1.4 firearms for each and every person in the US from age 6 and up. Meaning just ordinary civilians own enough firearms to arm everyone in the US who would have some capability to use it. And as for the 6 year old thing, I learned to shoot a gun when I was 5. My uncle, a former US Marine who fought in WWII and Korea taught me how to shoot about a month after my 5th birthday. And I have been shooting ever since. All of my kids know how to shoot and they learned with BB Gun and Pellet guns when they were 5 and 6 years old. One of my daughters is a better shot than I am.

Machine guns & semi automatic rifles are very much allowed in Florida & Texas. You're allowed to carry them almost anywhere in some States. To get big military grade guns are extremely expensive to discourage people from having them, paperwork is combersome, and the final OK can take a long time. But there are some people who have very large collections of military & civilian weapons. You can get a gun collectors license, too. These people are very well known by the local police as well.
"You cannot have this gun in your house." LMAO Uncle Sam just wants his cut and a papertrail, but he'll still sell you dang near anything. Welcome to the party pal!
The man you asked about at the 29:30 mark is a well known character in the firearms community. He goes by Dragonman and owns a very large firearms store, shooting range and military museum in Colorado. The rifle he's shooting is indeed a machinegun as you said (without getting too technical, since there are more proper designations) and the average person in America is allowed to own them under very special circumstances. First, we have to go through a background check to make sure we're not a criminal, then we have to pay a $200 tax for each one, and most importantly, the number of legal ones in the country is limited since the government banned the manufacture of new ones in 1986. Given the very limited supply of legal machine guns (pre-1986) the cost is crazy high, so the average person can't afford one these days.
You were correct in the term, Andre - a fully-automatic firearm is also legally called a "machine gun" in our laws. However, they are legal to own at the federal level (some states ban them), but they are heavily regulated and require a lot of paperwork and fees, plus are very expensive... but they are legal. We do have a law that makes it harder to own new ones (made after May 1986), but if you get a Federal Firearms License with Special Operations Tax (FFL with SOT), then you can purchase and own them as a business as long as you are demonstrating them to military and law enforcement.
The reason for the "War of 1812" was that the British were grabbing US sailors on the high seas and kidnapping them when they were in a foreign port. Their reasoning was that were British citizens. The Brits were also "encouraging" natives to raid from British Canada into the United States. THAT was what prompted the raid back into Canada. Which forced the Brits to invade the US.

Homeboy needs to watch Red Dawn. A lot of people forget that many of us also have night vision, sapi plates/plate carriers, gasmasks, explosives, and more ammo than you can shake a stick at. We would make the Iraqi and Afghan insurgency look like a fun day at Disneyland.
Actually, the US had to battle with the Japanese in WWII on the then territory of Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands. Granted the weather did a lot of damage.
Red Dawn gave the Commies the benefit of the doubt that they could simultaneously disable all US defenses, transport personnel and equipment that far without being noticed, that all their military equipment actually matched all the outlandish claims of performance they made, and even that the vast majority of adults wouldn't fight back. After all of that, they were still losing to a bunch of kids that only knew a survivalist!

30:00 - You cannot tell whether a gun is semi-automatic (one bullet per trigger pull) or automatic just by looking at it. Manufacturers often sell a semi-automatic version for civilian sale, and they look identical. It's also important not to think an all-black gun is more dangerous than one with wood. That is just appearance.
Uh... it was being shown in the video being fired full auto, dude who was firing it's finger was just holding the trigger back not tapping it repeatedly. While you are correct that it's impressively hard to tell if a gun is full auto from a photo alone(AR rifles have a plainly visible third pin if they're full auto) the video he got the still from plainly shows full auto usage.
The marjority of those that carry their weapons on them on a daily basis is not visible to anyone. It is called hidden carry. You won't see them, but they are everywhere.
There are some in America that can own fully automatic firearms it just cost a lot of money to make sure all the Pfizer dotted and teaser cross correctly are there still a bump stock and there's lots of binary triggers which will fire a round when you pull the trigger plus you have those like Jerry miculek who can fire a semi-automatic just as fast at least of a bump stock
I live on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Everyone I know has firearms. 6+ years ago, I lived in Baltimore. When the Freddie Grey riots broke out, my friends started calling each other to make sure we all had enough ammo. Americans love their 2nd Amendment and practice.
Besides the fact that America has the most legally armed civilian population in the world, we have thousands of illegal gun owners, too. We also have the largest population of continuously trained gun users as we allow for professional training for hunting, sport, & self-defense. We also have tons of retired military who actively train. At approximately 320,000 people, the FBI claims there are almost 500,000 legal firearms in possession. We also have trained archers, knife fighters, casual & professionally trained citizens in hand to hand fighters in our society. We have many who have private use planes who can be quickly trained for military planes. Many Americans are educated & trained in so many skills related to & adaptable for military use.
Hopefully, they'll find out actually where some of the money went. Pentagon failed its 7th audit. Makes me glad a lot of Americans are personally armed. 😂
Actually there is licensing for automatic weapons in the US. I think it’s called a class 3 federal firearm license. So yes, they can be legally owned. It’s just expensive.
I'm staunchly antiwar and definitely think we need to look after our own first. I also understand the need to remain dominant in the world. Imagine if the military was less wasteful and could cut that budget in half, though.
Gun laws vary by state but you can be licensed to own fully automatic guns. The majority are semi-automatic. And usually, at least in my neck of the woods, people have 2 or three - a pistol, rifle and shot gun. Let’s just say there are many more than that in my household and we all know how to use them.
Iv been waiting for a invasion for years... Ever since the movie Red Dawn...lol As im nearly in the middle of the country surely i would hear about it before they got to my front door. I cant speak for the rest of America, but down in Arkansas nearly everyone and their grandparents have a 30-06 or a shotgun either from hunting themselves or inheritance... I'm going to tell you right now, I'm pretty sure a 30-06 or a 12 gauge slug will go through body armor... But you want to know what the weird thing is. You most certainly do not need a 30-06 to take a deer down. It's very much Overkill. To be honest I'm still trying to figure out why it's most people's favorite. In my house we have a Benelli and a 38 special. That's it... Well, and my recurve bow if that counts...
13:30 There is an offensive operations principle that states that an attacking army need to have a 3-to-1 advantage in forces to expect success with reasonable casualties. This is a broad concept though, as the composition of enemy units, their readiness, and battlefield intelligence all play roles in success of an offensive operation.
You can own a fully automatic rifle like in the video or even a proper “machine gun” with the proper license from the ATF and depending on the laws of the state.
@@MichaelJonesC-4-7 That shouldn't be as shocking to a European, since most European countries REQUIRE silencers to be used on civilian owned firearms.
13:00 I'm no expert, but its often easier to defend than to siege. Familiarity with the area also helps. I'm not sure if you've heard this phrase, but in sporting events we'd call it "Home field advantage" I suspect if your country is too small or packed, or maybe the terrain works against you, then defending may become impossible, but you can be sure that all of our military might is placed in a very well thought out way.
The general rule of thumb that is taught in military academies is that you need at least a 3 to 1 advantage in numbers when assaulting a fortified position. Note, this is for actually taking and holding the position, rather than just dropping a big bomb on it.
Even without the military just think about all the citizens with weapons... especially in the southern US

We are definitely ready as civilians
Plus in the civilian population there are millions of veterans. We have been trained and train family members.

Before I watched these videos I never realized how lucky the US is to have the land (and invasion impediments) we do have.
And other than a few important minerals.. our land has tons of energy. We are blessed.
@@creinicke1000 Those few important minerals are actually not as "missing" as they would seem. Any time we go and actually look for them, we find them in nearly record amounts. The only reason we aren't the world's #1 source of all natural resources is because we almost completely stopped looking for them on US soil back in the 70's.

To be clear: You can - in fact - own an automatic rifle and store it in your home in America. You need a special permit that requires jumping through some hoops and those guns tend to be more difficult (expensive) to acquire, but you can. By and large, lawful gun owners will have semi-automatics
Bear in mind though that 3d printing, aftermarket parts, and modifications exist that allow you to get an almost or truly automatic firearm... but again, that's going to be rare
Good point, that's probably something that would be readily available for everyone if an invasion did happen.
Only when the gates are held open, can the barbarians sack the city.

There is a reason why the movie "Red Dawn" is considered to be an American classic!
Up at our cabin, I once saw our neighbor starting his camp fire with a flamethrower. When I asked him about it, he said his friend brought his flamethrower up with him. Talk about a firearm! hahaha
Legal to own in all 50 states.
@@georgesakellaropoulos8162 Yes, they are. Very cool to see it in action!
I particularly enjoyed this video because it's the first to take into consideration the arm American populace.
It's not just from a military standpoint, the US's configuration with a huge central plain protected by two mountain ranges but allowing access via the Hudson and Mississippi to coastal and world markets positioned the US for strong economic development throughout its existence since at least the Louisiana Purchase, There are no other places on earth so uniquely suited for both protection and trade access via navigable rivers in the world.
This realization is what prompted the idea of "Manifest Destiny". They saw the potential and viewed it as a blessing from God that they were meant to take possession of.
"I only know the Gulf of America.", amazing...
Full auto is legal in the United States
Only requires a tax stamp
And a LOT of money, unfortunately. (the least expensive full-autos are over $35k if purchased legally)
@
But they can be bought legally
Lol
Most believe it’s not possible
In the US you need a license to own a full auto gun. No gun can be banned and this licencing is BS. The 2nd amendment says shall not be infringed.
You have to register to vote too. Does that infringe on your right to vote?
@@DemonicSkaithwhich constitutional amendment states "the right to vote shall not be infringed"?

The Supreme Court struck down the ban against the manufacture and possession of Bump Stocks the device that allows semi automatic to function like machine guns ie automatic firing. So yes, civilians can have these at the moment.
You have to live in a State that allows you to have Automatic weapons and have the correct permits from the Government but it is legal.
Bit of trivia ! The civilian population of the United States has more guns and ammo the most military countries in the world..
Well, that's understating it a bit, don't you think? It's more than ALL militaries and other civilians combined.
You've got that right.
Hoarding doesn't apply when it comes to guns & ammo
Ammo hoarders drive up the cost of ammo while making it easy to capture and use against the rest of us in a real invasion scenario. We'd be better off with more people being able to afford 10k rounds in a few calibers vs having a few thousand people with millions of rounds in every denomination you can imagine.
Recent UN estimates are that American civilians own about 46% of the world's guns (and are only 3% of the world's population).
@@randlebrowne2048 That's... a quite low estimate. Of courses you can't trust the UN. We own well over half of the world's guns.
“I’ve only know of the Gulf of America” lol. I love it. Great one.
Amen to that!!
You can have automatic rilfes if you apply for the license however 90% of them style carbines are semi auto which is 100% fine to have and you can hunt with
I think just about every home has a dog & at least 1 gun. Im a 60 yr old female & i have 3 thru out my home. I live in a very safe area, but bad people cant be the only ones with a gun! 😂 Russia o my goodness no way! Now China, they are smart & strong, but they couldnt get here! 😂
Not only do I have a (hunting) rifle, but I also have a claymore, two katanas and a home-made bayonet for the rifle... You also have to think of the people who own their own tanks ^_^
That's low. It's about 2 guns per person of any age.
When he said anyone crossing the desert would be like in a shooting gallery, Glamis sand Dunes comes to mind.

"You cannot have this gun in your house."
LMAO Uncle Sam just wants his cut and a papertrail, but he'll still sell you dang near anything.
Lowest price I heard of recently was $35k for a non-functioning Tommy Gun.
Sending Love from Colorado to you and your beautiful family, Andre'! ❤🤍💙

Every terrain type adds to the multiplier, with the civilian resistance potential being exponential on top of it all.
The 80s movie red dawn
Red Dawn gave the Commies the benefit of the doubt that they could simultaneously disable all US defenses, transport personnel and equipment that far without being noticed, that all their military equipment actually matched all the outlandish claims of performance they made, and even that the vast majority of adults wouldn't fight back. After all of that, they were still losing to a bunch of kids that only knew a survivalist!

5:36 Canada is a major reason we have the Geneva convention. I suspect any invaders may not find them so "nice and friendly". 😅
The US didn't sign on to the Geneva Suggestions, and our civilians would definitely love to test out how effective most of those things are on the modern battlefield.

Actually there is licensing for automatic weapons in the US. I think it’s called a class 3 federal firearm license. So yes, they can be legally owned. It’s just expensive.
Also 'pre-ban' machine guns exist. Still expensive though.
I'm staunchly antiwar and definitely think we need to look after our own first. I also understand the need to remain dominant in the world. Imagine if the military was less wasteful and could cut that budget in half, though.

13:30 There is an offensive operations principle that states that an attacking army need to have a 3-to-1 advantage in forces to expect success with reasonable casualties. This is a broad concept though, as the composition of enemy units, their readiness, and battlefield intelligence all play roles in success of an offensive operation.
Goes up to something like 10 to 1 against an entrenched of fortified enemy. But yeah.
You can own a fully automatic rifle like in the video or even a proper “machine gun” with the proper license from the ATF and depending on the laws of the state.
You can even legally own silencers/suppressors. _shh!_ o_0
