Yes, newer walmarts have food and clothes and mechanic shops and pharmacies and optometrists and all kinds of other services, they aren't the 1990s large surface department stores they once were but feel more like something akin to Costco. Some people don't shop anywhere else anymore because it's so convenient, there is no point going anywhere else anymore.
9--No pickup truck. And by the way, while Americans may be somewhat materialistic, they are also some of the most charitable and giving people in the world.
@@chere100you can’t live life without working to live it, sure could try making some jobs easier or simplify but that doesn’t help anyone at all. We need work as people need food, water, shelter, clothing, plumbing, transportation options, knowledge if be from books or tablets or phones, these things are needed and sure as hell don’t come from nowhere, not to mention need people providing them such as truck drivers, gas stations or store employees, train and truck loaders, managers and employees to keep track of timing and location make sure shit doesn’t go rotten by the time it gets anywhere. Working hard will always be apart of life, while I agree life should be lived life also needs work as help to be disciplined or help find purpose and happiness in other ways because not everyone is the same after all, i know people who absolutely loved their job of being medically professional, that shit had him working 12 hours a day at one point but he kept going as he enjoyed it and cared for peoples lives and wanted to see it done right. And that is also as important as living life is passion, it’s restraint and patience for true happiness and purpose.
@@chere100 honestly too many hours like i'm not sure if paid time off is still the same but every year you grow your monthly hours off like my first year i would get 8 hours each month, next year 10, after that 12 hours each month but like you get 6 days of each month if you worked there for 20 years or something. i don't remember the hourly amount becuase it's not every year it grows. but becuase of that some people who worked there for longest time gets like 2-3 weeks off in a row. which is nice but i do wish we had 1 week vocations even if it's every 4 months or 2-3 times a year so we can take time to enjoy a trip, like i always wanted to ride the train but relaxing to across the u.s. but you realizes you don't have much time
Few people still say "doggy bag"... please, say, "Could I have a TO-GO-BOX?" And, some servers will ask to take your plate to replate your to-go food for you. I ALWAYS say, "No thank you... I'll box my own"
If you're curious why Chinese is a common language here, you should check out the history of the first railroads. Chinese immigrants paid their dues building the tracks. They also worked in the mines. Now there's a rich history of Chinese Americans across the West.
Andre, I want more people to see your videos. Your content is our country’s cheerleader! In the US, hard work earns respect across all social classes. We celebrate the success of others. We assume responsibility for the success of our organizations. We ARE a hardworking country. We have proven time and again that working Americans can do anything when we have each other’s backs.
New Jersey here…. I just watched the pulled pork video….. it has over 2 thousand likes… that means you need to get the Portuguese pork. I love watching you cook. The new material is amazing.
Little does he know he's got better meat than the US does because they don't have antibiotics and they're meat when they grow their animals. It's illegal over there, but that's about to change for the u. S thanks to R, f, k, hopefully he gets that anti. Biotics out of our meat. But some of us produce our own meat here in the states and we know it's an arbeef and our pork
Where I live, it's pretty rural. I hear gunshots in the fall, but I just figure someone is sighting in their hunting rifle. If I lived in a city, I would probably be alarmed.
My home is fairly rural. I hear shots regularly. Once, when on a conference call with a woman in San Francisco, my wife chose to sit on the porch. The neighbors decided to do some plinking after the call started. Her coworker could not understand how sustained fire next door might not be an emergency. In the end she accepted that my wife was unconcerned and promised to call somebody if she took a hit on camera. Nice lady.
9: Fun Fact about gun culture in the USA, gun safety used to be taught in public schools- did you know that? I think we should bring it back, this would end the gun debate.
Almost a third of homes in Switzerland have firearms. Not quite as high as US but pretty high, but very little gun violence. I think it's easy to see that a combination of a better education system and mandatory military service proves that it IS possible to own guns safely when executed properly
Lol, people look at me like I'm an extraterrestrial if I suggest that. But the crisis of violence having a few causes, one solution is teaching safety and therefore responsibility and respect for life at an early age.
We rarely go to a restaurant either. Maybe once a month to the Chinese restaurant for all you can eat for $9 with the senior discount. Years ago it would have been 3-4 plates today it's more like 1 1/2. But no doggy bags allowed. Too bad for the dogs I never seen more ways they serve cat. Just kidding.
The overweight thing can be a bit misleading because they use what is called a IBM measurement scale which can be very inaccurate because not it takes what you should weigh with your height. While you can also be only 8% body fat with a lot of muscle and over that specific weight, making the test inaccurate because I have family members who were considered overweight and have normal body fat percentages. But according to the BMI scale, they are 20 lb overweight only due to their muscle mass and they're also in perfect health
Except that is still overweight... Overweight doesn't mean unhealthy. It can be considered short for over the normal weight. If you say, "I have a lot of muscle, so that is contributing to me being in the overweight range," then you just explained why you are over the average weight, higher than average muscle mass. Even top high muscle mass athletes like heavyweight boxers and football players (excluding lineman) fall in the overweight range but are mostly not in the obese range. I'm tired of hearing this excuse. When I was at my healthiest, I was 5'10 165lbs. I had V lines but never got to abs before getting married and slipping into my squishy weight I am now. I had muscles but made sure to do high reps, lower weight to maintain a lean rather than bulky frame. 10 pounds lighter, and I would have been in the middle of ideal and would have probably shown abs. Even if you were to argue that height/weight WAS ideal and abs would have been above and beyond, the chart is 10 pounds off at best and I still was in the ideal range as the chart is.
There are socioeconomic factors that add to the way people eat as well, when you can get a 40pc nuggets for under $10 and you barely have time to cook due to working crazy hours with low pay, its an easy decision
She's right. Everything is bigger in the USA. I have a small pickup, but when my wife came to America from Thailand she was shocked to see giant pickups with 4 rear tires(duallies). They are quite common here.
Your english is excellent, you are very easy to understand and Americans will love your accent. Have fun on your trip. I know you love Montana, will you be going there? I live in Idaho.
“I may ask for a dog in a bag.” I really don’t mean to laugh at you but that made me chuckle. We have so many different nationalities in this country that I’m sure your server will know what you want.
This lady needs to move back to Europe. We don't like people li,e you.. Now let me tell u I have been traveled in Europe n Many things I don't like there. I love your videos but this one hits the bottom. Sorry
The overweight thing is bull crap. Of course people are overweight but her statistics come from the government which has lowered weight and body fat index. I am 6'5 and weigh 220 lbs. I am very fit but according to government stats I am overweight
The BMI scale was also formulated in the 1850s by an economist guy to track famine/starvation. We're literally just bigger than we were then, and the metric was invented during a period of chronic famines. It's literally like if you're judging an adult American man against the standards of the average Japanese woman.
We used to wake up on Christmas, look at the toys, jump in the car and drive about 7 hours to go to my aunt's house for a visit. The next day we would drive home. This was back when gasoline was very cheap. One vacation we went from Texas to Washington state south through California, and back home through Arizona. Marvelous.
I'm on disability, I got an old Toyota 4x4 and a shack barely big enough for me alone. I eat good alone and during this winter, Ive ate bigger amounts during this weird snow storm. Yes, I can schedule my oil change 15 minutes before my eye exam here, but I would rather shop the store while getting the oil change, I'm a in and out person, let me shop for what I want and leave asap
I have to make a correction on what this lady said about people being overweight in the United states. Well it may be true that two out of three people may be overweight, they are not obese. Yes, there are some obese people here in the United States but we are by far not the most obese country in the world. Samoa is the number one country in the world when it comes to obesity. Over half of its population is obese. When people say that Americans are overweight, most of the time that simply means we may pack on an extra 5 or 10 lbs that we should not have.
@brianreilly3227 No, insurance companies do not consider someone very muscular to be "overweight" even if their BMI (Body Mass Index) falls into the overweight category, as BMI doesn't differentiate between muscle and fat, so a person with high muscle mass can appear overweight on paper despite being healthy; insurers will take factors like fitness level and body composition into account when evaluating an individual's health risk. My brother is a lifetime professional bodybuilder and performs on the circuit nationwide. He has never been questioned by the insurance agencies that he has gone through in his life.
Plenty of mega sized jumbos waddling and scootering around well into the obese range I see every day where I live in the U.S. Obese, btw, is a body mass index of 30 or higher. I myself am 5'10 and 225 lbs, so I'd be considered obese, and there are plenty of baluga whales who seem to have found their way down from the Arctic to eat the delicious local (and fattening) New Orleans cuisine. These people are way bigger than me, and you couldn't throw a rock without chancing to lose your pebble in one of their folds. If I said I was fat in company, though, I'm sure I would receive a chorus of, "Oh noooo, you could spare to lose 10-15 maybe, but you're not fat." I'm just not in denial like so many in the U.S. This makes me wonder where this poster falls on the BMI chart 😂
Originally, the "doggie" bag was meant to take your leftovers home to your pet, especially your steak bones. That has evolved to today being taking home the extra uneaten portion of one's meal to eat later. No longer for the poor little doggie.
Americans don't travel? I hear this all the time. I am American born and have lived in 14 states and have toured in 45. Made road trips from Washington, DC to San Diego twice. That's a three day drive if you make 17 hours per day Lived in Europe for three years and visited 8 countries. Would love to do more traveling but too old now.
I love your enthusiasm for America. I love my country and believe you and your family are honorary US citizens. You love the USA, you cook and eat out food and you want to visit the US. Your videos are great! Please keep 'em coming!! I am very patriotic and was sad when she said only 41% of Americans are patriotic. I think that is terrible. I agree with what you said that we should love our country. #9
Having two (or more) cars in a family makes sense when you consider that in large portions of the US the public transportation system is, to be very polite, lacking. I gave up my car over 10 years ago but my closest bus line only runs on weekdays and even then, doesn't run mid-day or on holidays. So, a car for each family member working or commuting to college is often a necessity for suburban and rural households.
Hell, I've got 2 just for myself because there is no transportation and the nearest grocery store is over 30 miles away. If one breaks down, I've got the other to fall back on. I don't have family or neighbors to depend on.
Yuk. Those "flame grilled" cardboard patties are disgusting. And it's not charcoal grilled, it's gas. They spray the stripes on the patties, those aren't real grill marks. I haven't eaten a BK anything in a couple decades I think. McDonald's sucks too tough. Calls jr/Hardy's make he best fast food burgers. Jack in the box is great choice too
I understand everything you say. Don’t worry about your accent when you go to America because we have people with all kinds of different accents and are quite use to it. With fast food prices, I tend to eat home most often. In my opinion In and Out is the cheapest fast food to feed a family. I have many family and friends that are gun owners but most of them hunt. In most states you will never see someone with a gun strapped to them unless they are the police.
Even though over 100 million Americans own guns, it's unlikely you'll see anybody carrying one around unless you are in rural areas. As far as Americans speaking foreign languages, most of us had to study foreign languages in school but we are terrible at actually speaking them. Enjoyed the video, Andre.
Yep Yard Sales, Garage Sales, Flea Markets and Auctions are huge here in the States and also Second Hand Stores. An example is we bought all of our kitchen cabinets at an Amish Second Hand Store called the Cabinet Outlet. Amish cabinets are known to be quality and expensive but they have a lot of cabinets that people order and then decide they don’t like the style or color or maybe some got a small teeny tiny scratch on them during transport so the customer refuses them so they then take all these cabinets to their second hand store and sell them a lot cheaper because of either small imperfections or because they are having to bundle two different styles of cabinets together because they only have a few of each cabinet style to sell. We bought over 30+ cabinets for a little under $3000 and that was cheap because they only have drawers on the cabinets were magnetized so they auto shut by themselves once you open them. We bought huge cabinets for lower and upper installation plus a double oven cabinet, a lazy Susan and a hidden trash can cabinet that stores our trash can inside a regular looking cabinet. The cabinets we chose are all white but they are three different styles of cabinets but because they are all white nobody notices they are different styles. This cabinet second hand shop is just one example of second hand goods. We call a lot of the second hand stores “Thrift Shops” because you can make your money go farther at these stores so you are being thrifty with your money. I buy all my bedding and comforters and furniture at thrift stores. I buy all my puzzles at either thrift stores or yard sales. Everything in my home came from a thrift store or off the curb after a yard sale. I have a beautiful chandelier that I saw sitting on the curb for the trash man to pick up. I went up to the door and asked the people if they were truly throwing the chandelier away and they said yes that it did not sell on their yard sale so I asked if could have it and they said oh yes take it so it is now hanging in my dining room and I get compliments on it all the time. You can buy tools second hand at flea markets and yard sales and garage sales here. Really anything you can imagine buying, you can pretty much buy it second hand from somewhere. Thrift store shopping and yard sales and auctions are my favorite places to go. We have an Auction House here in town and they continuously sell furniture and everything else under the sun. They sell dressers for $10-$20 every auction and they usually have 10 or more to sell at a time. They sell Christmas decorations, tools, generators, big equipment, furniture, records, home appliances, beds, etc. Just everything. This is one of my favorite things about America. I have a yard sale every year to raise money to pay my property taxes on my house and land. Everything at my yard sale is .25 cents each on Friday and fill a bag for $1.00 on Saturday and Sunday. After that whatever’s left I pack up and donate to the Salvation Army or some of the Charities and Thrift Stores. A lot of our thrift stores are actually church organizations that are charities so they sell donated items cheap and give the money to pregnancy centers, soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, abused women shelters, community gardens that raise food for food pantries, etc. They will also just give clothing, shoes, coats, bedding, etc to anyone who comes in and is truly in need. So donating your left over yard sale items helps lots of people out. Americans are also great about just helping people who are truly in need due to a fire, sickness, surgery, loss of job, robbery, etc. Someone will say to the churches and Facebook that this family lost all in a fire and people start saying what do they need, what sizes do they wear and people start going through their closets to give and have their kids go through their toys to donate to these other families, etc. We may be divided politically and religiously on things but we come together to help each other. If someone is battling cancer then someone in the community usually sets up a fundraiser benefit to help them pay medical costs and have extra gas money for all the extra trips to the doctors. Our help to others goes beyond our own towns. I know people have been sending supplies to North Carolina and Tennessee since the flooding. We will be sending help and supplies as individuals and churches to California shortly. We also send care packages overseas to Ukraine and other places that are experiencing devastation and we go help in person when we can. Those things make me proud of being an American. ✝️🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Fun fact: the term doggie bag was used originally way, way back in the day because people would often ask for a bag to take home the bones, fat or small leftovers from your dinner to feed to your dog at home for a treat. As time passed and portions sizes got bigger and bigger, it became more common for people to want to take the leftovers for themselves, and that is when they started calling them to go boxes instead of doggie bags. You will never have to ask a waiter or waitress for a take home box or doggie bag anymore here. If they come by and see any food left on your table, they will always ask you if you want them to box it for you or if you want a box to take home. I personally really appreciate the few places that will actually take your food back to the kitchen and pack it up for you so you don't have to be watched dumping your leftovers into styrofoam boxes by other people dinning out. As for eating out, or eating fast food, we will have that only 3 or 4 times a YEAR! We hust don't eat out, or order delivery food in our home.
Saying that you can get your car fixed at WalMart is a bit of an over statement. They have no mechanics. The auto center does oil changes, tires, and batteries but if your car needs actual repair they generally can't do it.
When I eat dinner at the local Italian restaurant, I have several extra meals left over to take home. It's good to snack on or for lunch or whatever. If I have chicken, I bring the leftovers for my puppies. How much you eat is up to you.
My dad is the son of ScotchIrish immigrants and his parents were only educated to the 8th grade. My dad even graduated from college and became the CEO of an international aerospace company! American dream baby!!! 😂
Just a correction here. I looked up population density on the Center for Sustainable Systems website and 83% of Americans live in urban areas. There is far more sub urban and rural land, but most jobs are in cities, so that's where they live. Also the weight thing is off due to the way they calculate it. They really don't account for muscle weight. And fast food? You can, and I do, get salad at my local place.
Everybody have choices to make about fast food or home cooking, good or bad. Travel across Texas or Montana one side to the other could take you 12-16 hours. West coast to east coast is over 3,000 miles. 🤗 Yes, I think overall the majority of younger generations are materialistic. I think when we get older we tend to save money and slow down. English, Spanish, are the more commonly spoken. I believe that we’ve been brought up being patriotic. It’s more than 41% patriotic. You are very good speaking English Andre and know more about our country than so many.
Ya but docs say that I'm over weight at 5 foot 5 inches and 150 pounds. They say I should 125...Im not gonna count my ribs just to make a doctor happy. If you feel good, don't pay attention to the doctor
I think that a lot of us who haven't made important public innovations still think outside the box in our personal lives. I drove from Michigan to California twice and it took me 3 or 4 days forget which, driving all day. When you come to the U.S. ask your hotel if you can have a fridge and microwave in your room to warm up your leftovers. Not all hotels have them but many do,, especially the less expensive hotels. Great video!
9 - I don't normally leave the number to tell that I watched until the end because I'm catching up and watching old videos along with the new ones, but let me just say, I watch all of them until the end, so you've got at least one friend from Missouri with you. (and I fit a WHOLE bunch of these stereotypes... except the truck - that's my husband's vehicle. I have a Jeep!) Hope you had a great weekend.
26:14 to clarify here, many schools actually require taking a second language course. But many students struggle to learn in my experience due to the structure of the classes themselves. For instance, I took 7 years of spanish and tested out of the class at a collegiate level. ...I would not call myself fluent, because I learned a variation of "Spain" spanish, and "academic" at that. I can speak formally and understand folk, mostly. Only one of my teachers was very successful, and it was the only teacher from South America - Peru. Slang? Casual terms, local dialects, understanding the local Puerto Rican speakers...school totally failed me there. The best way for me to improve has been to simply talk to real people.
In my high school you had to take 2 years of a foreign language to graduate. I chose German and even though I’ve never had to use it after graduating, I still remember a lot of it. I’ve also picked up on some Spanish by working with guys from Mexico on horse farms that didn’t know any English. I can’t speak a full sentence or anything but I can figure out what they’re saying by picking up on some of the words. Also that 41% was just from a poll of a group of Americans. I’m confident if every American was asked, that percentage would be much higher lol
I went to a public government school in grades 1 to 12. This was in the center of the state of New York. In grade 7, we could begin learning a language of our choosing, between Spanish and French. I chose French due to my love of the culture, the language, and my ancestry in Alsace Lorraine. My mom was fully American, but she read subtitles to foreign films.
Our patriotism......just my perspective. I feel it comes from our history. We botched a lot of what we have done, but what Jefferson put in the Declaration, the thought put into the Constitution, there s pure Gold. The fact that wealthy men with a lot to lose, including their lives, to boldly sign the Declaration of Indpendence, and people of all types and backgrounds fought for this, Yes, we love this story. And there are still many around who had ancestors in that revolutionary war. I think I was born singing "It's a grand old flag"
(Refrain) You're a grand old flag You're a high-flying flag And forever in peace may you wave You're the emblem of The land I love The home of the free and the brave Ev'ry heart beats true Under red, white and blue Where there's never a boast or brag But should old acquaintance be forgot Keep your eye on the grand old flag
I was in Germany in the 80’s I didn’t think they were in shape. I thought they were frail. Some Americans are overweight. Some are frail. Some are athletic. There are all types. In rural areas we have farm more than 1 of 3 have guns.
1. I live in a small town in the Midwest. There is a Costco and Super Walmart about thirty miles away, but I still prefer to use locally owned mechanic shop, tire store, etc. My house is not modern (built in 1910), but it is large (four bedrooms, "two-story," but also with a full basement and a walk-up attic). I agree with the large portion sizes. When I go to a restaurant, I plan to have a second meal from the leftovers. The term "doggy bag" is less common now. Servers usually ask if you want a box for leftovers. 2. I occasionally eat fast food. I think a lot of our weight problem is all the additives in our food. 3. I'm comfortable with guns, but she's right that it varies by the individual. 4. I have traveled extensively in the US, but I've also been to Canada, Mexico, and England. 5. Again, it varies by person. I personally love going to thrift stores. 6. I only consider myself fluent in English, but I've studied and practice at least three other languages. I know several people who do the same. 7. Yep. I love the USA, but I also love hearing other people love and appreciate their own country (I love hearing you express your love of Portugal). 8. I live in a very friendly area, but I've also been surprised by how friendly people were when I visited big cities. 9. My hometown was home to an eccentric inventor in the early 1900s who dabbled in everything from showcasing and preserving moving pictures to designing flying machines.
Yes I have a "big truck". I have an F-150 crew cab. I also have a 2 door car. A mustang gt. They each have their uses and times and situations it makes sense to have. It's pretty typical, at least among everyone I know to have both. But I may not be stereotypically "normal" when it comes to this . I also have a Tahoe , 3 more classic mustangs. A 55 Chevy Bel Air . But if I had to choose just one it would be the F-150. It makes more sense in overall utility and practicality. I simply couldn't accommodate so much of my lifestyle with a small car or truck. My recreation activities demand a "large truck" , just to fit gear and equipment. I would never be able to fit what I need for a hunting, fishing, camping trip in a car or smaller truck. I can use my truck when the car will do, but I can't use my car for the things I need my truck for. And actually the truck is more comfortable, has just as much , actually more creature comforts and bells and whistles as a car and is pretty much just as fuel efficient as most cars outside of hybrids . This lady is wrong with her "2/3rds of Americans are overweight" take though. Or at least when your speaking of the stereotype of "fat American". There is a huge difference between overweight and obese. The metrics we use to determine if someone is overweight, and too a lesser degree overweight quite frankly sucks. It's determined by a BMI chart consisting of height and weight. A chart that is completely inaccurate when you consider the myriad of body types that can heavily affect someone's weight. A larger framed or "big boned" person is going to weigh more than someone who is slight. For example, according to the BMI chart, The Rock is overweight. An extremely large number of athletes are "overweight" This system of determination has zero consideration of the differences in things like build and other physical factors that factor into your weight. I would wager if you use the same metrics , you will find European and other countries are just as "fat" as Americans.
#7 due to the stark political divide, there are a plurality of opinions, including both patriots and leftists. One side has been convinced we can do no wrong and the other believes we are the problem. Theres also a middle group of relative ambivalence.
True. Just look at our last Presidential election. About half believe we're behind the rest of the world in health insurance, education, helping the homeless. Basic needs are not being met.
And in this country there is no language or cultural barrier. Many Europeans don't like Americans. We pretty much like each other here. Why go where they like your money but not you.
Nobody i know really enjoys going to Walmart. We go because they have something we need that we can't find elsewhere. They stopped being open 24 hours since covid yet everyone agrees that the best time to go was 3 a.m.. when it was empty.
You can ask for a Doggie bag or just say you want to take the rest with you. Usually the server will notice when you are slowing way down or your friends have finished and you have a lot left ,they’ll ask if you want to take it with you. Owning guns, even in the cities used to be common, (before the Liberalism and anti military /police of the 60’s hippie generation) Almost all schools had gun clubs /rifle clubs and even taught gun safety in elementary schools. ( even Movie Stars taught gun safety back then) I started traveling across this country as a child with my Parnts(I’m 72 now) and I’ve lived in 17 states and all but 4 National Parks and it took me about 50 years to do it. And there is still a lot I haven’t seen (I’ve lived in a couple of countries and visited 15 others)
People want to be able to have a large vehicle to move stuff, since we're always moving somewhere; so it's either a big truck, with a horse trailer, SUV, or van, for a second car or the only vehicle.
Basically, a SuperWalmart has almost anything you need. Our has the things mentioned below by Robert but also at least one bank, a nail salon, the one in the town I last lived in had a travel agency and a Subway restaurant and a QuickMed (where you can get simple basic medical tests done such as check blood pressure and sugar level, check weight, heart rate, simple tests that do not need a lab).
You are absolutely right. Humans all get back what they send out, no matter where they are from. If you are kind to people you will get kindness back in return, it really is that simple. I really don't care the color of your skin or where you are from, it is the content of your character that matters to me most.
I have a medium sized pick-up truck. Quite a bit smaller than the big ones. There are actually smaller Walmarts normally for smaller communities. Some called Neighborhood Markets are smaller still.
I got a big truck. Flag shirt, and a gun on my hip. My kids recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school every morning. We go big or we go home to our big houses in our big trucks. Lol.
She was wrong about guns. We have more guns in private ownership than people. Sure, if I own 7-8 that props up the number but I live in a big city and everyone I know, man and woman, carries every day or owns one or more in their home. BTW: when you come to USA I’d be happy to host you for a day or two.
It's not really slang. It originates from the United States during World war II when they would take their leftovers from restaurants and bring it home and give it to their dog.
9. I am very overweight, I drive a medium sized SUV and live in a 3 bedroom 1600 sq ft home( which is a small house here), almost everyone I know owns at least 1 firearm. I live in rural Mississippi.
Andre, fair warning, if you want a big U.S. vehicle like a pickup truck or SUV it isn't likely to fit on most European roads. That's the reason more U.S. vehicles aren't imported to other countries. The roads aren't built to handle their size.
Yes, I remember having to wait for a guy in a NOVA, YES! a NOVA, to back up a couple blocks in Germany in '76. Lol a damn compact car couldn't get through the residential area.
Regarding second hand stuff, it’s not just clothes. When my blender died, I had no desire to get a new one that’s programmable 6 ways from Sunday. Instead, I went to Goodwill and for 15 bucks, I bought an avocado green Osterizer from the 70’s that’s built like a tank and does ONE thing… blend.
This repetition about Americans not traveling is getting tired. As of Dec 2024, there are 171 million passports in circulation, that is 51 per cent of the population has a passport. It is more than the populations of Russia, Mexico, Japan and Egypt.
I think that some people think that to be patriotic to a country that country has to be 100% to their liking. No country is that way, I think those people need to get a passport and go visit countries with fewer rights and less convinces.
Let's remember that, like the obesity stats, those stats on guns are government stats which can be misleading. Afterall, it's illegal for the gov'tto have a list of gun owners. Let's just say more than 1 in 3 has a gun but less than 2 in 3. Of course, those that do also have guns that others (not in the owner set) could still use. There are many more guns in America than people, eh?
To tell you how bananas Super Walmart is brought my truck to Walmart to get the tires and battery replaced then went inside and went clothes shopping got a new keyboard bought some groceries and they had the Mossberg bird hunting combo shotgun on sale for $199 so I bought a gun too and yes I do like biscuits and gravy.
I lived the first 49 years of my life in Southern California and the last 6 in East Tennessee. Having a small car is not unusual in the US. It is NOT unsafe to have one, and every other car on the road is not huge. There are quite a variety of vehicle sizes, and she greatly exaggerated this point. It is called a doggy bag because people would want to take home leftovers to their dogs. This is a bit old-fashioned. Mostly, we just ask for a box these days and eat the food later ourselves. Lots of people eat fast food often. This is true, but there are MANY Americans who eat healthy and are fit. Not everyone has a gun, but many people who have guns have more than one. I have 3, a 9mm, a .22 and a revolver. She also exaggerates the non travel. Most people I know do have passports, and we travel domestic a LOT. Keeping up with the Jonses is a thing, but it greatly depends on personality. Every country has people that judge by possessions. This is not uniquely American. Most people I know are, in fact, very patriotic and generally friendly. I love how much you love America and am hopeful that you will find out all the good things for yourself when you come to visit :)
Oh yea the stereotype that everything is bigger in Texas is true . Alot of people in other U.S. states even say everything is bigger in Texas.they have been saying everything is bigger in Texas since i was a kid and im 47 now ,the sayings been around a long time . I havent heard them say that about the rest of the usa until i see this lady in the video say everything bigger in usa.the original saying is everythings bigger in Texas.never heard what shes saying

19:34 · Her choice of words here is dubious. She says "A lot of Americans don't even have a passport." And then at 28:45, she refers to "the majority of Americans not having a passport". That is absolutely FALSE: according to the U.S. government's own numbers, 51% of Americans DO have passports. And even if that's lower than the percentage in Europe, 51% is still a Majority.
Also, I lived in Europe 40 years ago, visiting many countries while there, I traveled throughout Central American 15 to 20 years ago, have been to Mexico and Canada numerous times each, not to mention travel to most US states BUT since my passport expired and I don't have plans to travel abroad soon, I don't "have" a passport. Having a passport is not a good metric for being open to other cultures or to designate a traveled person.
You're a crazy Portuguese guy watching an American video by yourself. Seriously, though, what does that make me, an American guy watching a Portuguese guy watch an American video, by himself? 🤨
The thing with the American Dream is, we do respect that as well. Not just winning, but honestly, people who work hard doing the best they can with what they got, and things still don't work out, it's sad, but you can still hold your head up and people understand. And I say that as a material failure. My best guess is God didn't want me to get too big of an ego😄Honesty and hard work are also Americans can traditions. That's why we get do mad at those who don't do either.
-Yup. Most decent sized Walmarts have an eye exam place, a hair-cutting place, a pharmacy, and an automotive repair shop. Then, a Subway, a MickeyDees, or some kind of fast food place. Yes - right in the store. Walmart usually has really good, competitive grocery prices, and I use them for curbside pickup so I don't have to go into the store. Order online from home, then go to the store lot and an employee brings out your stuff. -Big homes - we have more space to build. Also, by FAR, we don't all live in big houses. Mine is about 1200 square feet. -Sorry, but I love my truck. This is America, darn it. - I still get blown away by some portion sizes in restaurants, but we just take extra home with us, or order smaller meals made of appetizers, soup, chili, a sandwich or something similar. -If you ask for a dog-in-a-bag, the waitress will know what you are asking. -Haha. Fast food is not the reason if I'm overweight. I might eat fast food 3-4 times/year. Yes, Burger King beats McDonalds hands-down. -1 of 3 Americans own guns, but those of us who DO, own way more than one. -Yeah. Our states are the size of European countries and we have 50 of them. We can travel a lifetime and never leave the U.S.A. But many of us travel internationally as well. . I've visited many European countries, plus spent most of my childhood summers in Canada. -Second hand. You betcha. That's why I keep telling you to look for a GOOD, vintage or antique cast iron skillet when you come here. -Yup. You won't have any problem with language - there is a TON of Spanish spoken and used here. Even American "English" contains a huge number of Spanish words. American English contains many words from other languages as well. A far cry from UK "proper" English. We have very diverse influences here. -Americans very early in our history rebelled against the European class system. Haha...most of us were European REJECTS and we hate the concept of class/wealth by birth. Indeed hard work, talent and ingenuity will get you far here, and people will encourage you. -9. A lot of these videos are way too long though.

9 This was a pretty good one ! We are now retired and live in a "modern" condominium .with an HOA (so they do all of our outside maintenance ) We have no yard to speak of except for a very small fenced in patio. We have Living room, (with fireplace and two skylights ) a smallish kitchen, two bedrooms with closets and one largish closet in the hall across from our bathroom .. and a bathroom on the first floor. We have a pantry "closet" and our washer/dryer stack and are in a similar closet.. We have Electric heat and stove etc. Up on the second floor (which we rarely use) there is a bedroom and bathroom and a loft area which we have turned into a toy room for when our grandkids visit. We also have a storage room. We have one numbered parking space at the end of our walk and we share a communal mailbox with our neighbors. We own one Nissan Rogue SUV and have no garage at all. When our kids were growing up, we lived in a 5 bedroom , three story Victorian period brick house with a small yard for the kids to play in ... in a small town.. with street parking only. I AM overweight and we almost never eat at fast food places.. and I too Love Burger King lol. Have never owned a gun nor do I want to.. Shop at an online thrift store.. super patriotic, and yes.. we count on the food leftovers from a doggy bag ..

Don’t forget that we are also some of the hardest working. We spend many hours working.
@@FLYGUYMTWC I consider that a bad thing. Life should be lived more, rather than working into the grave.
Doggy bag sounds way better than a "chicken bag," because if you raise chicken's they get all the peels, ends, and leftovers. haha

Where I live, it's pretty rural. I hear gunshots in the fall, but I just figure someone is sighting in their hunting rifle. If I lived in a city, I would probably be alarmed.
Near Detroit here, not uncommon to hear gunshots
Hear them more than once a week. Just always praying that they're not near or hurt/killed someone. City life...🤦😲
My home is fairly rural.
I completely forgot about that. I grew up in the 1950s, and gun safety was taught to the boys in shop class.
Almost a third of homes in Switzerland have firearms. Not quite as high as US but pretty high, but very little gun violence. I think it's easy to see that a combination of a better education system and mandatory military service proves that it IS possible to own guns safely when executed properly
@@wareagle9655 I was an instructor. Taught hundreds of kids to be safe.

On the rare occasion I go to a restaurant, I always need a doggy bag. One restaurant meal will last me 2-3 days.
Doggy bag is for your dogs to eat your leftovers, lol. Asking for a take out container is for yourself. Works either way, tho.
BMI scale
If a person followed those constantly changing "guidelines ", friends ask if you have a major illness.
There are socioeconomic factors that add to the way people eat as well, when you can get a 40pc nuggets for under $10 and you barely have time to cook due to working crazy hours with low pay, its an easy decision
Sad but true.
She's right. Everything is bigger in the USA. I have a small pickup, but when my wife came to America from Thailand she was shocked to see giant pickups with 4 rear tires(duallies). They are quite common here.

The overweight thing is bull crap. Of course people are overweight but her statistics come from the government which has lowered weight and body fat index. I am 6'5 and weigh 220 lbs. I am very fit but according to government stats I am overweight
This
Right. They count very muscular people as overweight, because muscle is heavier than fat. Obesity is something else.
agreed. i am 6'2 and lean at 240. working to another 20lbs of muscle
very true also the statistics she listed seem to be completely false with it being closer to 1/3 being considered overweight or obese

I am actually not overweight.
Not to mention that many our strongest ( most muscular) are technically "overweight" by insurance tables but are actually quite healthy.
Canada, Australia and New Zealand and many European countries are almost just as overweight. 😊
"Can I have a dog in a bag?"
Andre strikes again! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, he did !
He’s so wholesome
Originally, the "doggie" bag was meant to take your leftovers home to your pet, especially your steak bones. That has evolved to today being taking home the extra uneaten portion of one's meal to eat later. No longer for the poor little doggie.

I actually like burger King better than McDonald's. Charcoal burgers are better than a flat grill
There are 20 percent of Americans who can speak 2 or more languages, which is 69.4 million bilingual speakers.
I live in Louisiana and I wouldn’t go to a big city without carrying and I’m 72 yo granny
Yeah, she’s way off on the gun ownership. Of course I think she is way off on a lot of her “opinions”.
Burger King is much better than McDonald’s, but there are much better burger places than Burger King here.
Yea, McDonalds and Burger King are very basic, not nearly the best fast food burgers.
Although I liked BK burgers eating at Burger King ALWAYS made me sick, so....

Wal-Mart mechanic consists of oil change and new tires.
Yeah, and they are not called mechanics.
And batteries
Everybody have choices to make about fast food or home cooking, good or bad.

Yeah I’m a native Ecuadorian Spanish speaker and high school Spanish was real weird for me
In my high school you had to take 2 years of a foreign language to graduate.
(Refrain)
You're a grand old flag
You're a high-flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave
You're the emblem of
The land I love
The home of the free and the brave
Ev'ry heart beats true
Under red, white and blue
Where there's never a boast or brag
But should old acquaintance be forgot
Keep your eye on the grand old flag
we love you here in america
Weight also depends on the state…some are more health conscious than others.
An extremely large number of athletes are "overweight"
This system of determination has zero consideration of the differences in things like build and other physical factors that factor into your weight.
We have 50 countries here so why would we bother. We also have friends here from all over the world so we get to know other cultures.
So true!
What was once super walmarts are now just walmarts. The small ones that are just grocery stores are called "neighborhood walmarts" now
You can ask for a Doggie bag or just say you want to take the rest with you. ( even Movie Stars taught gun safety back then)
I started traveling across this country as a child with my Parnts(I’m 72 now) and I’ve lived in 17 states and all but 4 National Parks and it took me about 50 years to do it.
Ours actually has a Quest lab location for lab work tests.
@AnyaMidkiff Nice!
I forgot the Super Wal-Marts have optometrists
I visited an eye doc at a Walmart years and years ago. He's still there and I get a birthday card from him reminding me to get my yearly eye exam.
That's where I got my first contact lenses long ago.
You can also get you haircut and go to the bank. When will they get a drycleaners?
@@RMReuben Lol! There's a dry cleaners in my grocery store. Of course, they send the clothes out to be processed but nevertheless.
If you go to a restaurant in America, the waitress will ask you if you want a doggy bag. All you have to do is say, “Yes.”
I got a big truck. Flag shirt, and a gun on my hip. My kids recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school every morning. We go big or we go home to our big houses in our big trucks. Lol.
I have a squarebody 4wd suburban :) and I EDC and Im a vet.
Costco did away with printing photographs but still has pharmacies and eyeglass stores.

#9. Hello from Arizona. Yes Burger King is the best. Enjoy your reactions and loving your cooking videos!😂
She was wrong about guns. We have more guns in private ownership than people. Sure, if I own 7-8 that props up the number but I live in a big city and everyone I know, man and woman, carries every day or owns one or more in their home. BTW: when you come to USA I’d be happy to host you for a day or two.
A doggie bag is just English slang in America. No one would judge you if you say it wrong.
It's not really slang. It originates from the United States during World war II when they would take their leftovers from restaurants and bring it home and give it to their dog.
Its not slang.. doggy bag = bag for your dog
9. I am very overweight, I drive a medium sized SUV and live in a 3 bedroom 1600 sq ft home( which is a small house here), almost everyone I know owns at least 1 firearm. I live in rural Mississippi.
I like BK over Macs, but I love burgers from Dairy Queen.
It's not unusual to see a person in Walmart carrying a gun. Where I live.
They have an Eye Center in house along with a nail salon, get a hair cut or your oil changed or eat at a restaurant all inside the store
my Walmart also has a shoe repair of all things!
I have a 2500 diesel truck a 1500 gas truck a jeep on 37 inch tires and a f150 work truck.
34:35 - I chuckled and replayed that a couple times. Hey André, what does the Warthog do? It goes Brrrr! Those are the 30mm guns, btw.
REACT TO THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HIGHLIGHTS! 💚🦅
I definitely prefer Burger King to McDonald’s but I prefer Whataburger and Taco Bell to both of them.
Sorry I can't finish this video because of her negativity.
Super WalMart has NOTHING on H.E.B.!!!!
Really
Or heb plus 😂
Never buy Walmart’s fresh produce (it’s not fresh) or Their packaged meat (soaked in water to increase the weight).
@ I’m 67 and have lived in Texas most of my life. Everything IS bigger because it can be. Lol
Ya,1/3 might be firearm owners, but they have extra to give to the outher 2/3. MERICA😂😂😂😂
Short, skinny Californian who drives a 1998 Benz. Teeny apartment shared with two dogs. Speak English, Spanish, Russian, French, smatterings of Japanese and Swedish. Been to at least twenty states, and perhaps a dozen countries. Heritage: 🇫🇮🇩🇰🇸🇪=🇺🇸
Yes, everyone I e ever met has a passport and also travels internationally regularly.
You watch a lot of videos here in the USA how many fat people do you see? it is NOT 2 out of 3
You're a crazy Portuguese guy watching an American video by yourself.
Glory!!! After so much struggles I now own a new house with an influx of $155.000.00 every month God has kept to his words,my family is happy again everything is finally falling into place . God bless America 🇺🇲
Thanks to RENEE MARIE HARRISON
Her top notch guidance and expertise on digital market changed the game for me
Same here, with my current portfolio made from my investments with my personal financial advisor (RENEE MARIE HARRISON) I totally agree with you
This sounds so good and I would like to be a party to this, is there any way I can speak with her?
People believe this lying scammer. Don't be so stupid and gullible, people.😂
As Katt Williams says" Haters gotta hate. That's their job."😂😂 he is a comic
Right off the bat she has a very negative outlook on us. If you can't say anything nice don't say anything.
She’s literally American and yea there’s good things in this country but let’s not sugar coat like it’s all good
9 This was a pretty good one !
9 I love watching your channel, you always make me smile!
