Well, I've now listened to 13 hours of Barry and Gamb talking about Kingdom Hearts (This and the lore video) and fucking hell never in my life have such long streams held my attention so much. I bloody love it. Was just losing it at the constant WUH HAPPEN stuff too.
So what I learned from the last part of this is that Riku is the true main protagonist of this shonen anime that does amazing shit while Sora just rides on his and everyone elses back and takes all the praise.... Turns out that the twist in KH 1 where Riku took the Keyblade to act as the real protagonist was not a twists but instead a part of his journey to truly earn that spot.
Sora’s main goal in the entire KH series was like every anime character protagonist in every anime showdown and that’s bEliEviNg iN hiMsELf. The true protagonisting was done by Riku
Thing is, none of this matters. It's an amazing, aggravating, accurate, well-researched theory, but we are talking about Kingdom Hearts. This is a series that had a bunch of shit happen to Mickey, just to have him take off his shirt to preserve continuity, but also regularly retcons the basic physics of the universe the games take place in.
Eh, it’s for fun. While some people would call making fan theories pointless and mad, some people clearly enjoy doing it despite there being not much benefit IRL, case in point: the many, many theory channels here on TH-cam such as GameTheory.
I noticed it many times that people say and speak about it from this Series but why so? Is cannot be of language barrier as they are not only a big study company but also had many chances of improving the text and realization of all of the things they said. Is it then becuase of the big Disney Market Place? is it because of the Final Fantasy Characters? Why do they even exist onto the first place? Is this one of the issues that lead for all of this to appear so convoluted? I rewatching this videos made sense but..again often seems...with the most important of the most parts seems bizzare especialy onto the chronological and time for developing a game to notify and review and extend then such details to create a sense of reason to illogic

I can kinda defend her for kh1, she was drooling in a corner for the entire game and I kinda forgot she was there tbh..... but in the other games I have played(only the ones on ps2 and the handheld ones) I have no clue why the writers forget about her. The reason the other girls in the game have personalities(I'm taking it guys word on aqua, never played bbs) could be linked to the fact that they were involved with their plot(namine messing with sora's memories and how she conveys her feelings, xion being friends with roxas and the time spent with her, aqua being playable...) and then their is Kairi. I understand game 1 she has to be.... ded, but kh2 you could of had her try something....

Not that she doesn't have Any (when she clearly does).
@Jillian Rachael playing as a character doesn’t mean that they suddenly now have character development. The playable character doesn’t just get get a personality and development ‘cause they’re playable, that’s insane. Yeah you play as her, but that isn’t character development, you just played as her. You don’t get a pass ‘cause they’re playable. You don’t even really play anything story wise that would develop her character, you just fight as her.
Now that I think of it, there is a very noticeable time where Sora falls into a deep sleep. At the very end of the last battle with Goat Man, Sora clearly loses and falls into sleep (Not dead since his heart isn't floating above him like it normally does). Then you hear Dolan and Gooby call out to him and he wakes up right before the part where he lost. Kind of like before when he brought everyone back to life. I always thought this was weird and no one seemed to question it. So the Sleeping Realm Theory would kind of make this make sense (sort of a little if at all).
The Sleeping Realm is a well-cited fan theory. I'm not going to accept it as Facts, but they've made an excellent case for themselves. If they're wrong, its a wild fan headcanon.... but I don't like how right it feels. I can't vouch for how the dots are connected, but they have A TON of dots. Also Chi/Kai makes me die inside more and more as we tie water into darkness and i hate it.
They failed on the most fundamental point: that only the people who enter the realm are real, and the events within are just recordings that don't affect the world outside.
I mean Coded or Recoded (the first mobile one whatever) was literally conceptualized by a drunk Nomura in a bar. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire series was thought up in similar ways.

Yeah, Nomura probably just was like "sleeping keyhole is a cool design, yellow heart moon, flow motion, yes" all of these things were things that his direct team worked on. Tokyo team. The blue moon and a lot of stuff from bbs and recoded we're done by another team, Osaka team. Tokyo team got spread thin by square Enix tho so Nomura didn't have his usual team to work on 0.2 or 3, so he had to work with Osaka team on those, possibly bringing over the mechanics from DDD because he just liked them. Another thing to note, he lies. A LOT. He has lied about characters and plot details before, he could very well just do anything with his story, and I'm all for that, it's his story anyway. He's not a good writer but he certainly knows how to catch and keep people's attention

So, when you were talking about how Kairi was suspicious I remembered something. While I *totally* played the game and not just watched the cutscenes I was extremely suspicious of Kairi. To the point where I expected her to be a backstabbing clone or sonething. At some point I must have noticed something odd and I only dismissed the tought after the ending as I thought maybe I was just wishing for the plot to pick up some pace... But yeah. There was something odd about how she was presented in the game I believe. P.S. when you brought up the RikuxMickey ship my initial reaction was: If there is an afterlife, first thing I'm gonna do after dying is to seek out Walt Disney and ask him his opinion on KH lol

@@paopufruit1770 did you not play ReMind????? Sora specifically says that Kairi was always the light guiding him. Actually, I'm pretty sure that was in the base game. It's the scene right after he goes through all the hearts of the guardians and resets the timeline so they don't die. And Kairi pops out of the beam of light and takes his hand. And he says, "you were the light [that was always guiding me]." The Japanese Really makes that clear. It's why SoKai is pushed so much and why ReMind made them Canon. Kairi was always his light and he was always hers.
Just because Sora thinks that Kairi is the light, doesn't mean it's true. She didn't confirm or deny this and characters can be wrong. For example: Mickey suspected that the other Riku in the KG is Riku possesed by Ansem. It later turns out to be Riku Replica from the past.

You know, in khx you can keep fighting a raid boss until you beat it, as long as you have medals with second chance and of course, the pet. I 100% know that in kingdom hearts 4, itll end like this: Sora gets revived through the power of light, every villian who isnt dead becomes good, bad guys all die, and sora and kairi kiss. The end. Everyone happy and every plot hole and glaring inconsistency gets ignored

It's clear they are picking up on quite a lot of legitimate hidden clues and symbolism, but the majority of the conclusions they're drawing from it are needlessly overcomplicated even by KH terms. While as Barry said you can never really rule anything out completely, a lot of this seems way too much of a stretch for me to take seriously right now. But I do look forward to seeing what some of this symbolism truly means in games to come.
my biggest issue is the amount of repetition. the doc repeats itself and entire quotes so many times. it's as if they thought people wouldn't remember or thought they couldn't just summarize the quotes.

So what I learned from the last part of this is that Riku is the true main protagonist of this shonen anime that does amazing shit while Sora just rides on his and everyone elses back and takes all the praise.... Turns out that the twist in KH 1 where Riku took the Keyblade to act as the real protagonist was not a twists but instead a part of his journey to truly earn that spot.
Sora’s main goal in the entire KH series was like every anime character protagonist in every anime showdown and that’s bEliEviNg iN hiMsELf. The true protagonisting was done by Riku

Thing is, none of this matters. It's an amazing, aggravating, accurate, well-researched theory, but we are talking about Kingdom Hearts.
This is a series that had a bunch of shit happen to Mickey, just to have him take off his shirt to preserve continuity, but also regularly retcons the basic physics of the universe the games take place in.
Eh, it’s for fun. While some people would call making fan theories pointless and mad, some people clearly enjoy doing it despite there being not much benefit IRL, case in point: the many, many theory channels here on TH-cam such as GameTheory.
I noticed it many times that people say and speak about it from this Series but why so?
Is cannot be of language barrier as they are not only a big study company but also had many chances of improving the text and realization of all of the things they said.
Is it then becuase of the big Disney Market Place?
is it because of the Final Fantasy Characters?
Why do they even exist onto the first place?
Is this one of the issues that lead for all of this to appear so convoluted?
I rewatching this videos made sense but..again often seems...with the most important of the most parts seems bizzare especialy onto the chronological and time for developing a game to notify and review and extend then such details to create a sense of reason to illogic

I can kinda defend her for kh1, she was drooling in a corner for the entire game and I kinda forgot she was there tbh..... but in the other games I have played(only the ones on ps2 and the handheld ones) I have no clue why the writers forget about her. The reason the other girls in the game have personalities(I'm taking it guys word on aqua, never played bbs) could be linked to the fact that they were involved with their plot(namine messing with sora's memories and how she conveys her feelings, xion being friends with roxas and the time spent with her, aqua being playable...) and then their is Kairi. I understand game 1 she has to be.... ded, but kh2 you could of had her try something....

But we don't fight as her because she just randomly summoned a Keyblade and didn't know how to use it well.

And then in ReMind we literally get to fight as her. How is that not character development??? Again, it's not much.....but it is something. Get mad about it not being much. Not that she doesn't have Any (when she clearly does).
@Jillian Rachael playing as a character doesn’t mean that they suddenly now have character development. The playable character doesn’t just get get a personality and development ‘cause they’re playable, that’s insane. Yeah you play as her, but that isn’t character development, you just played as her. You don’t get a pass ‘cause they’re playable. You don’t even really play anything story wise that would develop her character, you just fight as her.
Now that I think of it, there is a very noticeable time where Sora falls into a deep sleep. At the very end of the last battle with Goat Man, Sora clearly loses and falls into sleep (Not dead since his heart isn't floating above him like it normally does). Then you hear Dolan and Gooby call out to him and he wakes up right before the part where he lost. Kind of like before when he brought everyone back to life. I always thought this was weird and no one seemed to question it. So the Sleeping Realm Theory would kind of make this make sense (sort of a little if at all).
Maybe, but doesn't his heart only pop out when Sora loses to a heartless?
The Sleeping Realm is a well-cited fan theory. I'm not going to accept it as Facts, but they've made an excellent case for themselves. If they're wrong, its a wild fan headcanon.... but I don't like how right it feels. I can't vouch for how the dots are connected, but they have A TON of dots.
Also Chi/Kai makes me die inside more and more as we tie water into darkness and i hate it.
See the issue is you can't line up logic to a creator that is willing to straight up retcon any given lore.

If it doesn't happen it will just be another case of "why would anything ever make sense. We can't have that"

They failed on the most fundamental point: that only the people who enter the realm are real, and the events within are just recordings that don't affect the world outside.
I really hope Nomura comes out on his death bed and is just like "nah that kingdom hearts thing was just us with a bunch of drugs for a couple months"

I mean Coded or Recoded (the first mobile one whatever) was literally conceptualized by a drunk Nomura in a bar. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire series was thought up in similar ways.
This is pretty much like any fan theory, where I GUARANTEE you the creator didn't put nearly as much thought into it as people think they did.

Yeah, Nomura probably just was like "sleeping keyhole is a cool design, yellow heart moon, flow motion, yes" all of these things were things that his direct team worked on. Tokyo team. The blue moon and a lot of stuff from bbs and recoded we're done by another team, Osaka team. Tokyo team got spread thin by square Enix tho so Nomura didn't have his usual team to work on 0.2 or 3, so he had to work with Osaka team on those, possibly bringing over the mechanics from DDD because he just liked them.
Another thing to note, he lies. A LOT. He has lied about characters and plot details before, he could very well just do anything with his story, and I'm all for that, it's his story anyway. He's not a good writer but he certainly knows how to catch and keep people's attention

So, when you were talking about how Kairi was suspicious I remembered something. While I *totally* played the game and not just watched the cutscenes I was extremely suspicious of Kairi. To the point where I expected her to be a backstabbing clone or sonething. At some point I must have noticed something odd and I only dismissed the tought after the ending as I thought maybe I was just wishing for the plot to pick up some pace... But yeah. There was something odd about how she was presented in the game I believe.
P.S. when you brought up the RikuxMickey ship my initial reaction was: If there is an afterlife, first thing I'm gonna do after dying is to seek out Walt Disney and ask him his opinion on KH lol

Sora specifically says that Kairi was always the light guiding him. Actually, I'm pretty sure that was in the base game. It's the scene right after he goes through all the hearts of the guardians and resets the timeline so they don't die. And Kairi pops out of the beam of light and takes his hand. And he says, "you were the light [that was always guiding me]." The Japanese Really makes that clear. It's why SoKai is pushed so much and why ReMind made them Canon. Kairi was always his light and he was always hers.
Just because Sora thinks that Kairi is the light, doesn't mean it's true. She didn't confirm or deny this and characters can be wrong. For example: Mickey suspected that the other Riku in the KG is Riku possesed by Ansem. It later turns out to be Riku Replica from the past.

I guess this makes sense too if you look at the mechanic of the "second chance" as if Riku and Kairi were the second chance of Sora. You know, in khx you can keep fighting a raid boss until you beat it, as long as you have medals with second chance and of course, the pet. Maybe something has to do with it (?) but I guess everyone suspects that too.
I 100% know that in kingdom hearts 4, itll end like this:
Sora gets revived through the power of light, every villian who isnt dead becomes good, bad guys all die, and sora and kairi kiss. The end. Everyone happy and every plot hole and glaring inconsistency gets ignored

The world of KH isn't so much a dream but just a bunch of memories being maintained by light, after the original real world got exploded.
It's sorta like an MMO, and each world is a server.
I wasn't convinced when I started reading the doc, and then I also got to that heffalump bit and THAT'S what sold me.
The document is over 488 pages now, with a 4 part series on reading it. God Damn

Also I know you wont see this and it's way late Barry BUT important distinction with the whole twewy shibuya thing and nomura saying its not twewy shibuya. so in twewy, there's the RG (realground) which is like real life, and the UG (underground). twewy takes place in the UG, where the Reaper's Game takes place. this could be interpreted through Nomura's "its not twewy's shibuya" as "this is not the RG" but rather, of course, the UG.

Honestly I like that there are theories behind every aspect of this game and its craziness. Its Nomuras creation and he isnt going JK Rowling on it, adding new lore through Twitter. He is making this part of the story. He wants it to be insanity. Its f*cking anime. Let it be anime.
And if its gay, because Riku always had big gay vibes, don't say its cause of fangirls when Nomura clearly does whatever the f he wants. That's the worst thing about some fans. Sure some fans want more rainbow, but the other fans are so afraid that their bad boy hero might be the most evil creature of all...

It's clear they are picking up on quite a lot of legitimate hidden clues and symbolism, but the majority of the conclusions they're drawing from it are needlessly overcomplicated even by KH terms. While as Barry said you can never really rule anything out completely, a lot of this seems way too much of a stretch for me to take seriously right now. But I do look forward to seeing what some of this symbolism truly means in games to come.
my biggest issue is the amount of repetition. the doc repeats itself and entire quotes so many times. it's as if they thought people wouldn't remember or thought they couldn't just summarize the quotes.
It took me a WHOLE day to watch this, I started around 7:30 IN THE MORNING! It's almost 7 at night, gawwwd I don't even know how I kept up with what was going on.
