Extended Warranties over here are a waste of time because of this but the electronic stores selling TVs etc still try to sell them to customers who are not aware of the consumers guarantees act which protects them anyway.
I dont think that TCL cares. Look at Amazon. No matter if EU, NZ or anything. Amazon Products always lie in some way haha. TCL customers probably wont even really know what that means. When one buys TCL they want two things. Big. And cheap. Thats it. Yeah they have to give a refund. Tandem OLED actually has me very excited for OLED. If an OLED can hit 500 nits to 1000 nits on a 100% full white screen, it will be almost endgame. At that point, mproving it further comes down to driver boards annd refresh rates. If you could subfield drive an OLED with 480hz that would mean 2ms of image persistence, and the picture would have that brightness. I would absolutely buy a 32 inch 1440p or 4k panel with a 480hz refresh rate if it had tandem OLED with 1000 nits full field.
That’s the dream. It seems we’re still quite a few years away from seeing it on TVs, much less monitors. Which sucks because boy these current OLED gaming monitors sure are disappointing
Same bro. When I can get a 480 Hz 4k OLED then I will upgrade from my current 120hz panel. And sure the Tandem sound good but it will probably be quite expensive at first. And I don't need it. I watch in a light controled room and my old OLED is already plenty bright.
As guy who help people to chose TV's in different costumers forums, i can say that they are CARE about QLED/QD or not, because the prices are so close that these futures are what make difference between to chose or not some TV. If TCL lies about QLEDs that is huge deal, because we caught them lying about the peak brightness of their new models, here in Europe, now they lie about the quantum dots too..... not good.. TCL... not good..
Maybe they say it had QD in order to bump the price. The lie of scam is the issue, even if it's good without it. That destroys the brands' trust claim to anything that is not included.
Samsung scams for years and no one says anything, this year they mix the ad oled panels with the wrgb oled panels and some people buy a tv with the lg panel thinking its qd oled.

In 4K HDR10+ and Dolby Vision movies and shows, it really shines, I can say it's a bit close to Samsung S90C as long as its calibrated right.
I think you're missing the bigger picture here. It's not so much whether the TCL is a great tv capable of going toe to toe with the Samsung Q80. It's the fact that TCL is MISREPRESENTING the product and that's NOT Ok. It's a question of ethics and I don't believe in supporting companies or buying products from companies whose values and practices include misrepresentation in order to gain a competitive advantage.

Ars Technica has an article about the TCL quantum dot controversy that states that less expensive QLED LCD TVs could use a mix of quantum dots and phosphor to convert blue light into red and green light, but this results in worse brightness, color gamut, and color purity than using pure quantum dots for color conversion. This could lead to TCL being right about the presence of quantum dots and not committing false advertising despite having quantum dots at undetectably low concentrations. Another possibility raised in the article is that quality control failed to catch displays without quantum dots. However, if I link to the article, the anti spam filter might falsely nuke my post as spam.

With FlexConect, once you have a FlexConnect enabled TV, you can go out and by one, three or even fifteen wireless speakers that you can add to your TV setup as you like. Those speakers are likely to see from anywhere from $75 on up to $400 depending on how big, fancy and powerful you need/want them to be. I just recently purchased a 55" TCL QM751 which is VERY similar (externally indistinguishable, but with a lower refresh rate) to one of the models in the Korean report. Do we know if the three in the report were the only models tested, or did others pass? I hope someone will test the color spectrum of models sold in the US to determine if they have suitable levels of QDs. I recall that the weakness Rtings pointed out with regard to the QM7 was with color calibration, and I have had some difficulty achieving the picture I am seeking.

The TCL sound bar. Simple answer, depends what it sound slike. Anthem MRX 740 8K $US3100 but you need to add a couple of speakers to get 7.1.2 to your old 5.1 system. So maybe US$5000, twice the Sony.
Hey Fomo, when do you think tvs will reach diminishing returns to the human eye, is it after we get 1000 nits full color spectrum, 1000 nits full panel oled brightness? Or is it gonna be a massive jump in a tvs peak nits say 10,000? Just waiting for blue pholed at this point.
For MINILED, we're already there as far as the top TVs like QM7 - diminishing returns from QM7 to QM8 to Bravia 9 for most movie/streaming/sports content. Remember it's all about the content and if content is graded way below 1000 nits as currently then it's pointless for a TV to perform beyond where they are now. Obviously we expect future HDR content to exceed 2000 nits of specular highlight but that's still years off. Would be nice if OLED full screen can be above 500 nits (twice current brightness) and I think that's more than good enough for future movies to support bright HDR
Always enjoy your industry news Mr. Fomo. Most non-enthusiasts don't care about quantum dots, they just want the biggest bang for their buck. If the Hisense Saturn system sounds good I think that if it includes a decent sub then $600-$700 would be a good price to get a good start of taking market share away in this non-soundbar space. But the system would have to sound good enough.
The hisensse brings competition. The Sony barely does atmo or surround. With competition I expect there to be a 6 speaker set up with even better surround for reasonable prices.
Maybe it will be out(New OLED Tech) in 2029 when I go looking at the possibility of a new TV again. Why is it I'm good with the TV speakers? I have a soundbar Sub System and Rarely EVER turn it on. Samung would not be this big gobal corp without the help of the korean government who gave them a lot of subs in the early days and Sausmg use their goverment contacts to put fellow korean companies out of business so they could be the dominant one, karma comes back to haunt them.
infighting between LG display and Samsung display is going to result in both of them going the way of the dodo and Chinese OLED companies will have a monopoly. It's depressing because we need real competition
LG and Samsung display competing is the only reason they aren't charging $5000 for a 55'' tv. You want competitors to fight it out to keep prices down. Neither one is going anywhere, every year they get better at making the same display for less money.
@@kendil22 Right but the issue is that it's no longer just an LG vs Samsung market. The Korean government should step in and make them merge or something
@@WilliamSmith-hf8um Making them merge would end them. Not to mention be illegal in most non communist countries as they are private companies not state run. @@WilliamSmith-hf8um LG and Samsung display merging is a terrible idea. And since they aren't located in a communist run country forcing them to merge would be illegal. The correct response that will probably occur at some point is countries will put a tariff (thereby raising the price) on Chinese made tv's to keep them from dumping cheap panels and level the playing field. Which would be the correct response, not some hair brained idea of making lg and Samsung display merge.
@@kendil22 I'm not saying the government should force them, I'm saying they need to be pragmatic. Putting tariffs on Chinese OLEDs isn't right because if Chinese companies are making better OLEDs for good prices, that's just going to result in Samsung Display and LG Display getting lazy and cheap. Samsung Display and LGDisplay need each other right now, they are competing with the whole Chinese OLED industry

I'll never buy TCL/Hisense. Samsung/Sony/LG ftw
Good for you.... I have a 3 year old, 82" Samsung 3,000 dollar BRICK..... Lol
If I had 800 bucks I’ll buy the biggest tv I could with that money that would be my first priority
The hisensse brings competition. The Sony barely does atmo or surround. With competition I expect there to be a 6 speaker set up with even better surround for reasonable prices.
With regard to the Hisense surround system, if it’s 85% of the performance at the price you said, I’m in all day, every day haha
Maybe it will be out(New OLED Tech) in 2029 when I go looking at the possibility of a new TV again. Why is it I'm good with the TV speakers? I have a soundbar Sub System and Rarely EVER turn it on. It's the Least used Item In my house. It's the Sharp 65" Soundbar Sub I've had for 8 years now and still works great(when I do randomly turn it on)
I'm still wondering what LG will Call there C- Series after the C5..
Government money is not Free money.. JS. Government backed= Not Free
Didn't TCL pretty much beats QD? Also, the Q80 is really good
@stop the fomo The tcl mini led flagships got artefacts in motion handling i read. Thats why im not for it and stick to panasonic, mini led this time from 2023
My "soundbar" is an Elac CC501 in Walnut High Gloss and I LOVE to see it.

Contains artificial flavor of QD 😂

Yes we do care FOMO. You trying to downplay marketing fraud we know you got a softspot for TCL and Hisense all the time. QD LED and QD OLED etc are big marketing deals that definitely influence consumer choice.
Especially people that buy cheap TVs because they are the least knowledgeable so more easily fooled. It matters on principle and matters in advertising. It's fraudulent.
If we didn't care in cheap models, then why not start doing it in higher end models.
Chinese brands will be cheap only until they eleminate the competition.
Thats what Walmart/Target did--in USA/Canada. Eliminate compition. Kill American home land production. Then Actually still ORDER-LOWEST end product that Chinese will NOT use (main stream ppl born 80s n later like premium). They whole sale buy things those Elders buy, jack up prices in USA. Double dirty. But due to huge purchasing power, they crush American industry because in order to survie all other stores did the same, sears n etc. Once Walmart dominate the market, they Jack up price, anything goes wrong blame Chinese manufacture. IN Fact High END , n Mid range stuff ALL existed all this time. But they chose NOT do it……
Because--stock.
high executives gets HUGE annual Stock pay. Your bonus is usually 2-5X of your annual salary. Due to how much company of total revenue.
So they will BANK up LAST a few years b4 hitting 65. Sucking up consumer money. Its NOT Asian manufacture’s issue, its the ---principle n Very core issue of Capitalism (d ugly side). --
SONY did that for YEARS. D only reason we dont belive because we just dont know.

Samung would not be this big gobal corp without the help of the korean government who gave them a lot of subs in the early days and Sausmg use their goverment contacts to put fellow korean companies out of business so they could be the dominant one, karma comes back to haunt them.
boe/tcl are both a hard pass

Nah chinese are just copycats who are you trying to fool….😂
infighting between LG display and Samsung display is going to result in both of them going the way of the dodo and Chinese OLED companies will have a monopoly.
Chinese government is putting lots of money into OLED, and if things continue this way, companies like BOE will win all of LG and Samsungs customers in a surprisingly short amount of time, meanwhile LG and Samsung are fighting eachother! The Korean government should step in and make them merge or something
@@WilliamSmith-hf8um Making them merge would end them. Not to mention be illegal in most non communist countries as they are private companies not state run. Most of those prefer not to have MONOPOLIES as well. No what will probably happen at some point is a tariff hike on Chinese tv's that will jack up their price, which would be the CORRECT response to the Chinese dumping cheap panels. Economics 101.
Samsung Display and LGDisplay need each other right now, they are competing with the whole Chinese OLED industry
quantum dot branding is important for samsung? why dont they advertise it then on their oleds? ....
Hi Pls Post a Calibration Video of Hisense U7N
U7N TV settings: brightness 80, black level -5 and keep tone mapping OFF unless you see major clipping of color detail then you can turn it on.
@@stopthefomo thankyou Sir
@stopthefomo sir one Last Qs should I do this while keeping my TV in Movie Mode Night or Vivid mode or in which mode
