      I seriously believe alot more has to be considered when evaluating a piece of tech like a tv for what we are paying. From Sound and Speaker Quality, to OS features like smart home connectivity and ease of use, wifi antenna performance and even customer service. All those things are what you are paying for not just the screen and pixels.

    cool - where is SDR rankings and content? the most widely used form, unless people are only turning their TV on to watch the latest blu-ray movies or play games? between the lack of SDR content and circlejerking over creators intent, you TV reviewers keep really dropping the ball. if your intended audience is supposed to be the public anyway, which i'm guessing so with these youtube (which is SDR ironically) videos. apologies for the tone but you guys just don't seem to get it. maybe never will.

      Sdr is for people who watch "cable tv shows".
      Hardly a high fidelity experience where you need a high quality tv.
      Sdr is a 50 year old standard? More than that?
      Limitations of TV's over 50 years ago. Seriously think about how bad TVs were 50 years ago in SDR had to be built around them!

    • @endiRiz
      @endiRiz 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@paulcox2447 nearly all TH-cam content is in SDR. Only 135 PS4 games out of the thousands out there have HDR capabilities and a good chunk of them have it implemented badly to the point that SDR looks better. Older movies are all in SDR too. SDR is still alive not just in cable tv and should get reviewed properly.

    I was trying to decide between Bravia 9 AND A95L with a side by side comparison at best buy I was noticing how damn close the image was in HDR content, but in SDR mode the oled was so damn abysmal compared to the mini led that I HAD to buy the Bravia 9. Since honestly only 30% or less is our HDR content watching. If oled was close in SDR I definitely would of went oled, but it's still no comparison. Keep in mind both sets in vivid and no energy savings enabled.

    So how did the TVs perform with a 4K Blu-ray if we’re going to invest this type of money we want to see what the TV can actually do!!! Everything you’re saying is basically ridiculous, if you’re only streaming. All them are gonna look identical and sound the same. TVs can truly shine with a 4K Blu-ray. That’s where you’re gonna see the difference. Heck even a standard 1080p blueray would have been better than using streaming. You guys are reviewing TVs yet you’re not using the best quality you can as TV reviewers this should be a standard. You should be educating people on why they should want to have a 4K Blu-ray if they’re going to invest thousands of dollars into a TV.

      @desmondbrown5508 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Yeah I had to dip my toes into high end Mini-LED to truly understand why I'd rather just have OLED all the time. I bought a Bravia 9 and unfortunately, despite it being very impressive as a MiniLED TV it just kept bugging me the flaws with the panel tech. I know it's not Sony explicitly that's the issue (maybe a little, in that they could probably have put a faster chip on the board to help with some of the issues I saw) as you can tell they are driving the tech almost to it's limits and achieving some picture quality I didn't expect a MiniLED to hit due to their processing algorithm. But even the almighty Sony couldn't break past all of the issues. While motion is extremely impressive for a VA Panel MiniLED, it still has very noticeable ghosting in game mode and VRR? Forget it, it looks awful. And you still have to trade off between blooming and contrast (either going medium LD for great contrast but with blooming, or high LD for excellent blooming control and deep blacks but lower overall contrast and peak brightness). It's obvious that despite throwing their best at it, the panel tech is just too limited for high-end use cases.
      OLED, even midrange ones, just destroy it in game mode and in overall high motion clarity and you don't have to make the compromise between great contrast, deep black levels and blooming. Sure you don't get nearly as high of peak brightness levels/overall brightness but I'll be honest, in a dim room setting the brightness hitting 1000 nits total brightness and 2000+ peak brightness nits is overkill. It just wasn't necessary and I ended up dimming the screen anyways. That's not to say having the extra "real estate" so to speak isn't good. An OLED that can achieve that brightness or similar is great in that panel lifespan will go way up (same of LCDs) since as the panel dims over time, you can just compensate by going higher to reach the previous perceived brightness level. But yeah, unfortunately to me, MiniLED just has too many compromises right now, especially for the price point of some of them.

    • @RedPillAlways
      @RedPillAlways 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @desmondbrown5508 I 100% agree. This whole brightness thing, This brightness War it just doesn't mean that much to me. Yes the older OLED TVs by comparison to today's and even last year's were very very very very very dim. Hitting maybe only 300 to 400 nits. Me having an LG C1 I noticed it but only during the day. But I upgraded to an LG C3 65" and I can tell you it has blown me away. 700nits is what you need to have meaningful HDR/DV impact. The C3 hits that + and the difference it makes for highlights explosions ect ect is miraculous. To be honest I'm not even pushing the LG C3 as hard as it can go. Yes I got it up there. But I tweak my own settings and I got it in Cinema mode with my own tweaking during a bright sunny day in my living room and it is great for Moves. Game Mode is just as AWESOME.
      So I don't need the 1300- 2000 nits capable TVs and I'm not willing to sacrifice perfect contrast Deep Blacks motion clarity mixed with great colors and color volume an meaningful gaming features for high brightness. Yes higher brightness means higher color volume. But movies are graded in the DCI-P3 color space and Games are sRGB and DCI-P3 witch Modern OLEDs cover 99+% of. I like my picture to look more natural and realistic rather than blown out and oversaturated.
      So OLEDs for me are where it's at. The C3 does everything I want along with Cover everything I need and It's covered for 5-years(until 2029). $2000 for all that is WWEEELLL WORTH IT..

Sometimes the S90C is.almost unwatchable in some panning scenes because of all the jumping it does.

      This score is kinda a joke because he justifies it with the lack of “infinite contrast” and “off-angle viewing” on the B9. He already deducted a few points for off-angle viewing in accuracy, so why bring it up again for streaming? By that logic, you can also bring it up for gaming and sports. Instead, it would have been better to mention image processing in this category, after all, the A95L was given all the flowers in this category last year, in terms of the subtle, artificial image processing (sharpening etc) that the B9 also offers.

    thank you for this video. this finally got me to stop that Bravia 9 curiosity, the LG G4, and since Samsung processor and upscaling are not as good as the others. This narrows me to the A95L. I wanted a bigger TV, but I think I would enjoy the perfect 65" vs like a Bravia 8 77".... I want 77" but, my A80J, while being a great TV, leaves a little to be desired. Otherwise, I wouldn't even be looking.

    My guess is the mystery tv is the 75”/85” Hisense U9N!! 🎉 although they do have the 98UX still supposed to come out with crazy stats!! The U9N has been on the BB website for a while now but. It available. I’m excited to see if Hisense can finally prove all the ADS/IPS panel haters wrong!!! 🎉 imo, the ads panel trade offs in contrast Vs viewing angle are minuscule! Plus VA screens feel “cheap” to me when you touch it. (Notice slight waves in BB display models on VA) 🎉

    I dont think lg is at the top for gaming anymore. Most of them limit the brightness to much and lock settings unnecessarily. Also, the great processing you pay for is completely locked out, leading to things like banding in many games. Samsung should be the top for gaming, especially on their oleds, sony second for the gradation and not locking settings and lg 3rd.

    • @tylerthere5832
      @tylerthere5832 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I had to download a separate app called color control to unlock the true capabilities of my G3 for Sdr, which most games are made for. You shouldn't have to do that, when you pay 3,000$ you should have options, and when they update these features in there next tv's, those updates should come to the ones 2 to 3 years prior. Last note on weird lg limitations, the 21:9 and 32:9 modes are limited to 60hz instead of 120hz like on the samsung, but funny enough, you can easily avoid the frame limit by playing in windowed borderless mode lol.

      @@stopthefomo yeah, I'm referring to the whole this TV for dark room, that TV for bright room narrative. It drives me insane and it really confuses the folks who don't follow TV's like we do. A Mini LED is still amazing in a dark room, and OLED's can now look great in a lit room. As far as the whole infinite contrast thing, I'm not a believer in it. In fact, I would say that if a TV isn't capable of being watched in a lit room, or can't properly show detail in a dark scene, it is the inferior product, not the one that can be viewed in both environments. I have tried twice to go OLED and so far, I haven't been able to do it. They just look artificially dark and crush detail too much for me, it throws me off. Sure is nice that we have such great options now tho. Don't agree with that streaming score though 😉
