Anytime I here spider talk I have to tell this story, I have this garage with a ouitside door I would lock everynight in the summer and every so often like once a week I would forget and faceplant into this big thick orb web which belonged to a big brown fat spider with black stripes on its legs. About 5 times of this the spider actuall built me a arcway for my head to go under and continues to do it for the rest of the summer every night. I have a knew respect for the intelligens for spiders and can never kill one just relocate and wish it good hunting. thanks for the videos its becoming really popular in my household.
I live right by the water and my house is a sanctuary for spiders and I love it. I keep track of them. Yesterday I actually saw a male funnel web spider trying to coax a female out of her hide. He was going for one of the bigger ones I have so I wished him luck on his endeavor lol.

This is a well timed video, I’m sure spider videos will get a lot of traffic at this time of year. Also, Evan and I finally got our lifer Argiopes yesterday! We found the Banded Garden Spiders, Argiope trifasciata, still have to find A. aurantia. Great stuff Chris, this was fascinating as always! - Harrison and Evan
They are awesome spiders, aren't they? A. trifasciata are my favorite Argiopes, but only by a touch. The A. aurantia is right there. The Banded's have that iridescence that is just pretty cool, imo. It's funny, but I made that Black and Yellow video the day we met. I found them while waiting to meet up :)
To be honest, Orb weavers are so reluctant to bite. It takes a lot to illicit a bite from one. The Argiope bites are like a bee sting, I keep hearing, but it is super rare to be bitten. Others will be even less likely to bite.
Very cool video Chris! Now I know what kind of spider I had outside one of my sliding glass doors. It was an Orb Weaver and I watched it build a new web each night. It's amazing that those different spiders you pointed out build there webs so close to one another. Anyway, hope that all is well on your end... 👍👍😉😉
I remember my favorite kind of spider as a kid were the ones on the garage windows that made a soild white web with a tunnel and a big ole hairy looking spider lived in it..I would go out therein the summer during horsefly season, catch one, disable the fly and toss it into the web..Loved watching the spider rush out and grab it's meal;.. Tried it one time with a wasp. spider came out grabbed it but immediately let go and ran back home..lol

With this type of web design,
bugs are actually wanted!
Spiders are amazing creatures. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for visiting
Learning to appreciate spiders. Always been scared of them. 😊 Thanks
No worries, I used to be pretty darn scared of them, myself. If you watch closely in some of my spider videos, you can still see that, lol. Good job

Pretty cool that you get to see all of that. Watching a male entice a female is pretty suspenseful, imo lol
Love looking at spider webs

Thank you, Alexander! I will. I camp every few weeks, but in between that, I am working on editing and posting. Camping means more content :)
Webinar, perfect pun.
Great, informative video Chris!
Appreciate it! Thanks
Cool vid, Rain into quite a few webs this year probably because of so much rain. Lol "the end of my WEBinar" ...
Glad you liked the ending. Do you have Trapdoors in your area?
@@chrisegnoto yes definitely have them here in AZ
Spiders "poop" their homes!
Strange, but basically true.
The bowl style does look very cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person.
Not sure I would want to either…
Such a great video. Thank you 😊

I hope so, too. Unfortunately they tend to show up around the time you leave for school. Maybe some young ones before then.

Do other spiders make an unorganized web?
Daddy long leg? They hang after a bit cob web?
Yes, several species do. The Daddy long legs are with the Cobweb variety
@@chrisegnoto yes I have many of them

They usually stay put in my experience. As for Orb weavers, well, they can be skittish :/
