Thats wonderful that yours went so smooth, but this makes no sense, I applied and paid my $100 in January of this year , I have a clean background, and my application has said PENDING for 8.5 months . Why are some people getting conditional approvals within days, and others wait for almost a year? Now i can't even get through TSA precheck with my group next month as we travel abroad because i went this route (global entry) thinking I gave it plenty of time. Stupid me, LOL, what was i thinking, it is after all the US GOVT! Can i go back now and try and get a TSA precheck at least??? I truly do NOT recommend this especially if your trying to get it for a trip within the upcoming year. The fact that they took my $100 and no response imo is not ok.

Great video. I upgraded to Global Entry as my PreCheck was expiring this year. Quick and easy process. Interview(Cleveland, Ohio) was at most 5 minutes and I had my approval email before I got back to my car. I immediately updated all my airline apps with my new number.
I have been pre approved for Global Entry. I have set up an appointment for next week. Even with GPS, I would recommend that you consider making a practice or dry run to the facility in advance of your appointment. Also, allow extra time when traveling in anticipation of possible delays. As Geneva stated, make sure to take your driver's license and your passport with you. As with any important interview, plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before your scheduled interview.
Good morning. I am also in Virginia (Richmond) Thank you for this video. I applied on Saturday August 24. Conditionally approved on 8/26 . My appointment on 9/14 at the Norfolk office. There was availability last week of August. But Norfolk has Saturday hours 🥰
Non-US citizens can also participate in the GE program. I used it in 2024 from Germany. It took about 3 months from application to interview. You can do your interview at almost any airport upon international arrival, without an appointment. Unfortunately, when I received the email to make an appointment, I was already on vacation in the USA. Luckily, I was in New York and was able to make an appointment at JFK on the same day and do my interview. The interview lasted 5 minutes.
Yes, the picture will be printed on the card. The representative who took my photo didn’t give me a warning or anything and took it at the worst possible angle 🤣🤣🤣
If you are a conditionally-approved Global Entry applicant, you might be eligible to complete the Enrollment on Arrival. When landing in an international terminal follow the signage directing you to CBP officers who can complete your Global Entry interview during your admissibility inspection. Thanks for your clear information about the facts. A question, please, when one is approved and receive their number and of course can enter it on the travel information but is only traveling in a few weeks, but doesn’t receive the card yet then is it possible to still use it with just the number or can only use the number when the card is received ? I guess it’s a physical card in the mail
I would suggest reaching out to CBP for 100% accuracy, when I received my card I had to activate it through the website so although you have the number I think you need the card for activation. I waited until I had my card before I used it to travel so I don’t have first hand knowledge about using it before you have the physical card to activate. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
Great information there, thank you! A couple questions. Have you used the Global Entry app instead of the Kiosk? When you renew your GE, do you need to redo the interview?
I haven’t used the app yet, I travel next month so I’ll report back or hopefully someone will comment with their experience. You may or may not be required to re-interview…it varies.
According to the cbp website, you can. I personally haven’t so I can’t give first hand information but hopefully someone on this thread can help. Here is the direct answer from CBP: No, it is not necessary to obtain a Global Entry card to continue using Global Entry an airport. A card is only required for expedited entry at the SENTRI and NEXUS lanes coming into the United States.
