    I loved your story. I hope you've been using global entry as often as you expected. Happy travels!

    I did my Global Entry interview yesterday at JFK Airport NYC. Got there, they checked me in, took my Passport, and sat me down in the waiting room. A few seconds later, a CPB officer walked out and called my name. We walked to her desk, and she sat me down. She asked me to confirm my name. Then she asked me what my email address was. Then she followed up by asking me for my home address. She said ok, look at the camera. I took my picture. Then I placed my right hand on the scanner, the four fingers, the thumb, followed by the left hand. She said you're approved, gave me a little book, and said you'd get your card in the mail. The process took less than 3 mins.

      Excellent!!! And congratulations on being approved. I firmly believe it all comes down to which CBP officer you get.

    My interview process was also very easy. I did the IOA (interview on arrival) in Atlanta. When I got to immigration after the flight, I had a very unfriendly officer (tbh, a first for me), he got very annoyed that my fingerprint reads weren't working properly and almost yelled at me. So I was a bit anxious about the interview process but he told me to just move to the next counter after I was done with the immigration process and the other guy was really nice and relaxed. He just asked some standard questions and I was done in less than 5 min. Some minutes later, I already got the mail that I was approved.

      Thanks for the video! I applied 3 weeks ago and not sure what to expect time wise on how long it will be before hopefully getting a conditional approval. I’m 69 and did get a DUI 37 years ago, which was expunged within a year after completing the terms set by the Judge. I did mention that in the application. After watching countless videos since, I remembered at in 2006, while in Thailand, I overstayed my visa by 2 days. There was a very good reason why I couldn’t renew the visa on time , a reason that wasn’t my fault. I guess I’m getting paranoid on the government checking on me back to the 1960’s. I only have the one conviction and it was way past the 10 year date that you, and many other people have mentioned it’s the waiting that’s the hardest part.

      @@deandecoursey3061 Hello Dean. Honesty I believe you will be fine when you go on your interview. My minor infractions was worst than a DUI and a expired Visa. If they approved me, I’m positive they will do the same for you.

    10 years on a misdemeanor? You were lucky. I have heard on other videos that they go back 30, 40 years.

    So they conditionally approve you even though you had the infraction on your record?

    • @valdez1d447
      @valdez1d447  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all. My infraction was due to expire in 1 day. My CBP officer was extremely cool 😎. Instead of sending me to the back of the line (start all over again) he asked me to send him an email 2 days later so he can process my application. And that is what he did. True to his word, 2 weeks later, I had my Global Entry card.

    • @CYCLEGAMER1
      @CYCLEGAMER1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason I asked is because I was conditionally approved (I had to get pre approved before my interview). Did you not have to get conditionally approved first before your face to face interview?

    • @valdez1d447
      @valdez1d447  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CYCLEGAMER1 Yes I was. On 08/18/2020 I received my conditional approval letter from CBP. On 10/30/2020, the day AFTER my infraction expired (10/29/2020), I received my official Approval letter from CBP.

    How long to get conditional approval?

    • @valdez1d447
      @valdez1d447  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joseph, my application was submitted in November 2019. I received my conditional approval letter in August 2020. I’m sure if not for covid 19, it would have been sooner. For me, it worked out a good thing because of the Misdemeanor on my record & the actual interview date. If it were any sooner, I most likely would have been rejected and had to reapply after October 2020.
