Same here, As soon the retarded patches came out i left my official pve server,killed all my dinos and dropedd all my stuff in the ground inside base. Now i run my own server with the mod to revert the flyers. To sad they fckd up his own game, just becouse they could not fix some stuff they nerf...
That wouldnt work as breeded tpera start with like 500% damage and pretty good hp so peoples would pump every things in speed and still got super sonic flyer.

The devs should make an update entirely to fix bugs. I think that a lot of the community can agree with me, a huge bug fixing update would be so much better then these where they add a bunch of useless crap

Atooch It doesn't make sense in developing sense. Since they add new dinos and features to the game, new bugs will occur. That way they will be fixing stuff that can be broken again in the next update.

Nooblets I think the flyer nerf was necessary but they nerfed them to hard. Everyone used to use flyers but now everyone uses Thayalacleos, they can have good health , good damage, and can climb walls.
I think that is most everyones' sentiment. Nerf was called for but not to that degree.

same but I was watching ark for so long before I got that game and I gotta say I was looking foward to getting it then I took a break before the flyer nerf so when I played the game and got a flyer I was super confused and disappointed at the ark devs knew they were going to lose money what they SHOULD have done was either make it so they decrease every point into movement speed or make it a configure button in the settings

i always enjoy your videos and have been greatly helpful to me and my friend. we played as a alpha tribe for quite sometime and we got bored of the constant neediness of pvp so we left our tames and buildings to rot. i got into the single player and thats where i started to have tons of fun. your videos being helpful along the way. i have created elaborate bases on each of the three maps and was creating a Jurassic ark park on the center, but i wanted to add finesse by bring wyvern. my buddy and i were on a good run, up to 18 babies in just a few days especially with fast maturation, ( i almost figured out how to get 100 %imprint with speed maturation, 8 hours for a wyvern. i got 3 perfect imprints), this is all because of the prenerf. now the nerf is so bad it makes it so tedious that i had to put my singleplayer in limbo and my friend and i have gone on strike.
what im saying is your material gets out to tons of people and i wouldn't doubt that even devs watch what you have to say.
i would really enjoy hearing you input on certain game mechanics. i play on the ps4 so i find we get the low grade of it all and suffer the most, but i dont know what others on pc or xb1 think.
-flyers kicking you off your mount when out of stamina and to far from the ground?
-flyers not landing where you intend and it can even be a perfect flat land like my 15x20 flyer pad with nothing on it.
-force landing landing on edges and causing your flyer to land to their death.
-tame follow tether. should much be like the tether on singleplayer, which comes to.
-why is hosted non dedicated multiplayer with a few friends are forced to stay with in 300 meters of host. the tether problem with singleplayer should be a tether mechanic for tame following.
there are tons more where this game can be great just with subtle little changes. we all know its not a full release but its been in dev for sooo damn long, milking and eating away at parents and unsuspecting victims wallets.
i mean watch the video that is suppose to be a trailer which looks damn right gorgeous and then play actually footage of the game on a pc or even console.

When the sand seal is faster than any of the Ark's flyers you know somethings wrong.
Interesting video mate. I would be interested in a land vs air dino speed test over an obstacle course. The gallis don't turn well at all and unless you're out on the sand in SE you'll have to deal with varying terrain. The raw numbers are good but now you need to take it the next step and look at the various options with some more practical examples as they are in-game. Fliers remain the fastest creatures in the game (overall) largely because they still don't have to deal with changes in terrain land dinos do.
Would be interesting to field test the iguanadon/horse/etc with their reduced rates of stamina consumption to find which dino is the best for which job.
MrGhosty0091 that is an awesome idea. These are the reasons why i like the frog so much it's fast and can greatly avoid terrain obstacles. Also for speed I'd rather it be a quantified value over a multiplier of base speed.
This patch is actually good, you can't have a dinosaur that is a jack of all trades and also be ridiculously fast. You either have a slower argentavis which can carry more weight and pick up stuff, or you get a pteranodon and have a fast nimble scout. You can't have both because of obvious balance reasons. People are just mad they can't have an overpowered Argy get Wyvern eggs so easily.

i watched all of your ark vids, as an ambitious ark noob (thanks for the help). that was half a year ago. since then, i have witnessed one too many atrocities. now there's no life left in my eyes.
i didnt mind these honestly. i miss the fast flyer speed, but it certainly isnt something that kills the game. honestly, with Ark being updated so frequently and new content keeping things fresh, it doesn't stop being a blast for me.

Classic, flawed game design philosophy at work here. They went for pure balance by sacrificing one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game to many people. Freedom of flight to help alleviate the grind of collecting insane amounts of metal was never a bad thing.
If they wanted to kill the PvP aspect, then they could have made it so picking up people took even more weight to the point of forcing you to 'spec' them away from movement speed. Instead these crappy devs decided against logical changes and went straight to gutting.

Since the nerf hit, Ive been loving my Mantis, fast as lightning, dual weilds swords or harvesting tools, the dual whip Mantis is pretty awesome. Plus they dont suffer fall penalty while mounted, I can leap down mountains and not have to ditch my mount every time just before we hit the ground.
I like the flier buff, it adds value to the many other land dinos. before the buff the only thing I ever used was air unless I was resource farming.
I actually tamed a tapejara 007 style like you tried, by the time we hit the ground it was already unconscious. I thought to myself, "Nooblets would be proud".

It cannot attack so it was only good for speedy scouting and now after the nerf its kinda useless...

Wyverns have no saddle, so they get killed super easily. They are pretty much glass cannons, and their stamina usage isn't great. All the flyers have a real purpose now.

Primitive Sponge Laying low is not competing. Competing implies that you are an active threat. Laying low is huddling off and hoping someone won't notice you and want to wipe you to amuse streamers
Primitive Sponge Raiding a tribe and hiding back at your base=/= alpha tribe competitive. If anything it makes you kind of a wuss. Who raids but isn't even brave enough to show themselves? Flyers were preferred by me and a lot of others because the pathing AI is fuckawful.
How you compet with tribe who probably had super breed flyers? even if you take a 150 it still shit next to breed one.

my husband and I got the eggs on ragnorok with argys. Even with the nerf we just boosted its health through the roof so it can take a few hits before leading it into the cage. We didn't have a high level pteradon or we would have tried that. Our level 40's were eaten by lvl 5 wyverns after one hit. :(
Do you plan to do any videos like the "How to get Artifact" videos or other stuff on The Center? Just curious because I've been playing on The Center for quite some time now and can't use any of your location information in your videos for spawns and such.

I'd also recommend the Igunanodon as a land mount since it doesn't use stamina while sprinting on four legs. Base speed is lower than the Galimimus for sure but the fact that it doesn't use stamina is pretty awesome.

I have an idea for wyvren milk farming, a ballista with chain bolas protected by pillars. Snipe Agro a female wavers then jump on the ballista you could add thatch walls/ a door in front of you to protect you from the first breath attack. Just an idea, after its bolaed you could use a mantis with clubs to KO. Or just shoot it with tranks or maybe narco grenades/ narco traps I don't have scorched earth but I think this could work.

This nerf was NEEDED. The meta was literally pteras with 300 speed, it's disgusting when your server gets flooded with trolls and sonic birds, This nerf actually gives land dinos a chance now, ty wild card.

Yer Pteras flying in and past the turrets was bullshit, but they were the only ones that needed to be nerfed.

nooblets.com honestly I think it was a good thing nerfing flyers I think it's wrong pteras can fly so fast that plantx can't hit them let alone turrets not to mention to fly so fast they end up inside your base before it renders in
I used to have the same opinion as Nooblet on that nerf before rebalance patch 256.3 because back then, 256.0 had fucked up all flyers period and made them useless. But now, they all are useable with each having their own specialty, much like land dinos. It was not that much the case before. Quetz, most notably, are slow for a reason : they are airborne brontos. The flyers now feel 100% of the weight of whatever is standing on them (30% before nerf, but patch 256.3 has added more inventory weight reducing mecanics to dinos. So it balances things a bit, with anky reducing metal more than quetz's 30% used to (but reducing nothing else), doed doing the same for stone, and mammoth doing the same for wood, becoming once again the n°1 wood gatherer due to sheer carry capacity. So you can put those on a harvesting quetz alright and have better harvesting results than before. It's different, that's all.
Now you will need to keep an eye on stamina. Finally a use for all those stimberries, eh ? I wonder if stimulants work as well on dinos. Stamina-focused custom recipes would also be very interesting. ;)
About getting wyverns, i've seen already several that have figured out a way, that is quite simple when you think about it : come with a strong golem, shoot the wild wyverns and kill them with the golem until you have a clear path to go collect your egg. Also, argy can get away from pursuing wyvern as long as it has enough headstart, something that can be used for wyvern trapping for milk. ;)
Alpha wyvern, on the other hand, i guess are faster than normal ones, and thus should probably be avoided until you have your own wyverns to deal with them...
All and all, this flyers nerf is just a change we can adapt. I still am pissed they released it too early, it's much like windows vista and windows 7, the latter being what the former should have been on release. But aside from that the nerf is just a fine evolution. I'm back to only being pissed at one patch strategy from Wildcard : transfers (and i'm more and more pissed about it as they keep releasing more tek content focused on promoting those transfers and on making invasions easier : the need to farm bosses and thus access transfer interface, the need to use a beacon to craft the replicator and thus access transfers, the tel obelisk that gives you your own transfer access, and in the dev kit a cloning chamber big enough to fit a rex and probably a giga, wtf ?

I'll also have to build a bigger taming pen because the Quetz is too damn slow and I'll need to fit a Wyvern in the pen just to drop the creature.

If your server has buffed Dino stats the thylacoleo can be op in most attributes at level 50

Now people are forced to use skill and land-based raiding tactics instead of nobrain-raiding with all the OP flyer mechanics of ARK. It will be better for the longevity of the game.
The Gali might be the wrong land animal to test with as they are supposed to be the fastest transport. I would suggest something like a sabertooth or one of the new mammals and level them for double speed (200% or more) and do a speed test again. I'm sure it will be faster than most if not all of the mountable flyers.

is the wyvern color natural or did you change it with an admin command?
Instead of netting anything should have added more movement stats like turning and pitch ability so stats can be more spread out. like have a ptero that instead of buffing speed you can be even more maneuverable etc.

Phillip which is funny, because I feel like PVE has more long term potential in player retention. People don’t rage quit PVE as often since there’s no base wipes and raids, just dino kiting... So you’d think Wildcard would want to tweak things in our favor... but no they don’t get smarter as time goes on.

Flyer nerf is great. Official PvP was a pain to get started on with all the jet fighters and bombers. There was just no use for land dinos. I'm glad they nerfed it. But I have to agree, Quetzals are waaaay too slow now, and so is the Argy. But the others are just fine, pump a few point into stamina and weight and you're ready to go.
I wish you could give us a before and after speed
Pteranodon or wyvern guys for eggs stealing and pteranodon for milk runs. I recommend 7k + for Heath on your pteranodon and 3k stamina

You can still upgrade speed on the small seagull guys >:D so tame one of them upgrade the speed to a super high amount, attach a grappling hook to it and whistle were you want it to go :D thank you thickfreedom XD

Some how i got my pternodons speed to 450% using the advanced rules and making speed high when you tame things so its really fast
It's smart for what they did now let me explain why it's better for public relations in the long run to nerf it into the ground and then buff it rather then constantly nerfing it and making more people angry but to be fair I don't hate the nerf I feel like a cap would have been better
