    Fantastic details and patience. Was thinking of buying it for the low price.

      U better buy tamiya because trumpeter turret is wrong

      Just started on the Trumpeter. Tamiya too expensive here. Don't mind spending time cleaning it up for best fit. Enjoying it after decades being away from modelling. I could only afford 1/72 being a teenager. Now 1/35, partly due to eyesight, hehe.

    I have a question... Could you make video or take pictures of the inside of the lower hull and of the inside of the turret to show the placement of the electronics and the mechanical parts placement in those areas? I know and understand these tanks that you 3d Print are based on the Heng Long 1/16 r/c tank layout. But for those of us who are new to the r/c tank hobby, it truly would be very helpful. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again in advance.

    Very nice build, just a shame Trumpeter made such a dog's breakfast of the turret profile.

    Excellent work. Im surprised a guy of your experience doesnt use Tamiya extra thin. Why do you use Mr. Cement and do you use it for all your builds?

    • @modelsforfun
      @modelsforfun  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi and thank you. Im used to use Mr. Cements S,SP, Revell Contacta or Agama glues for a longer time now. Mr.Cement is very similar to Tamiya Extra Thin. Yes, I use it on all my model builds. Its a very good glue.

    I was in the gulf war on a M1A1 heavy....the Marines did not have M1s at the time they had M60s....Also the plate on the front of the turret is not accurate.... The DU armor covered the entire surface on the front of the turret

    • @silentumexcubitor6747
      @silentumexcubitor6747 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      DUDE! Do you have any photos of your M1A1?.... And, lol, lol, lol....no, not laughing at you! -Those are supposed to be "CIP's", or Combat Identification Panels, on the turret front. They are nowhere near that thick on the real thing. Trust me, this kit is a dog. It sucks hugely! The guy here did a very good job on it, but the basic kit sucks bigtime!.... Even the Tamiya kit is better!
      BTW, I',m finishing up an M60 w/ERA & bulldozer blade, from Takom. Excellent kit!....

    For the wheel bars, 3:30, do they go on top, below, or above that little box thingy?

    • @silentumexcubitor6747
      @silentumexcubitor6747 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I THINK that the "little box thingy" goes into the back of the suspension arm....BTW, this is probably the WORST M1 Abrams on the market. Tamiya, or the new Academy kits are better.
      The RFM-Rye Fields Models kits are even better, but more difficult builds....

    Is the track too tight? From my experience, rubber track is always too tight. Sometimes even 'bent' the idler wheel inward

    • @modelsforfun
      @modelsforfun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rubber tracks are too loose. In order for them to fit on the chassis and keep their shape, I had to cut two track pieces.

    Greetings. I have such a kit. I have a question: what lenth should the antennas on the turret of the tank be? The instructions do not say about the length of the antennas. Can you tell me the length of the antennas? 35:01

    • @modelsforfun
      @modelsforfun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi.The length of the thick, green, fiberglass antenna is 8 feet which is 2 3/4 inches in 1/35. The thinner, black, wire antennas are 6 feet long, which is 2 inches in 1/35.

    NOPE!....This is one of the WORST M1 Abrams kits EVER!.... NOT RECOMMENDED, unless you can pick it up dirt cheap & use some random parts....
