Mega love this model. It's a home run from Seiko. Got the black one which was perfect. Thought of getting the green....but the bezel is a bit olive green and different from the dark green dial. This dial is a bit smaller than the previous mm200's which makes it even more closer to the mm300. People saying this isn't worth 1,500 really need to acknowledge the fit and finishing and this Seiko. My watch is running -5 secs per day which is reasonable. Thank you for this review Rob! Love your channel. ✌🏽
I have the green one and I would say the bezel is forest green. Did you see it in person? I think the only aspect that doesn't match the dial is the fact that the dial is sunburst - otherwise it seems to match perfectly for me. Black is also gorgeous. I agree with you - great watch. Makes me nervous about whether I am going to fulfill the prophecy and eventually sell my MM300 🤔
I was going to pull the trigger on this one, but I do need the 2nd time zone function. Constantly traveling between Asia, Europe and US, the 2nd time zone adjustment is not intuitive to me. I would prefer a smaller 40mm divers only version in green dial and ceramic bezel
3:47 YES and AMEN. Take the sticker off and don’t be like those people who don’t take the sticker off the driver’s side window, or their fine crystal candlesticks and vases. And BTW, take the paper ring off your cigars before you smoke them. Only cads and bounders don’t know that. Minnie Pearl was a parody, not a role model.
@@canem1086 I have 381 - I say definitely no. The end links are sharp and the bracelet is very comfortable. The clasp is a let-down with the diver extension. I almost kept it on because the portion that is not the diver extension is good but I always need to replace these diver extension clasps because they are so long and fold weird in the middle if the watch is worn loose. Thank god Seiko makes it easy to pop any 18mm clasp you have laying around on. Overall though I am very pleased with the bracelet. First Seiko since the SKX009 and Monster where I was not compelled to replace the entire bracelet!
@canem1086 , the bracelet is actually pretty good. I love the polish on the top of each link. It's interesting. I did replace the clasp, but overall pretty good bracelet.
As a professional traveling diver that crosses a lot of time zones when guiding trips I do still want a "true" GMT. Totally agree that a timing bezel on a GMT is much more useful, at least for me. I use the two time zone tracking AND still use the timing bezel while diving. The new longines hydroconquest meets all of those specs, but with a hefty price tag.
A power GMT user tracks 4 timezones, I got the Kurono GMT 1 yesterday a true GMT, price tag was too low, relative to what it will go for when it arrives. Not looking to sell but starting at $7k bid I might think about it. For now maybe get yourself this diver GMT until you sort out what you really want.
You are right Rob, I'd likely not even buy a true GMT, just not worth the date changing hassle. You can spin the GMT hand a full revolution in one second.
That is a gorgeous watch, such a focused design. I like the green but does it come with a black dial? Black on black would be awesome. I don’t like this style of GMT (and I do use them) because I can never remember which direction is date and which is GMT.
Hello. Loved watching. I have a problem with my new SPB383 Seiko watch. Its awesome. I love it. But I don't get 72 hours standing time. I'm lucky if I get 12. I wear it when not in work. It get's put down on my desk at 2:30 am. Then when I come home the watch has stopped. I gave it thirty winds. I then wore it. Isn't that sufficient to give me 72 hours? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me.
You can't get a longines for a similar cost. RRP for a longines GMT is circa £2500-3000. Sure you could get a discount but you could also get a discount on the Seiko... 👀
Hi Rob, I have been following you for years, and I am having a doubt, I don't know whether to buy this watch, or the spb207j1, they are watches with a similar case, change the bezel which in the other one is made of lacquered steel (typical of Seiko) and The GMT function, although this one also has a greater thickness, you have had and reviewed both, what conclusions do you draw? Greetings from Spain and thank you very much for your videos!
If you regularly travel outside of your home time zone, you will quickly realize why the caller vs. traveller GMT distinction matters. The independent hour hand of the traveller GMT allows you to adjust to the local time when travelling without having to reset the minute hand. You fly NY to LA - click the hour hand back three places and you're done. It's actually a very useful feature. Far more useful in may opinion than the GMT hand itself. I'd gladly give up a quick set date for an independent hour hand.
I need three timezones and there are not many watches on the market with that feature! This one's a great looking watch though but I'd now take the basic diver MM200 instead since I got my Maen Hudson GMT with three time zones already.
In July I stopped by Exquisite timepieces and I specifically went to go check out the ice blue dial version of this watch. Although it is a 42 mm watch in my opinion its much closer to a 38. And the reason for that I think is because the bezel is just way too thick. So the dial circumference on its own is very small and thus contributes to the watch wearing so small. I was actually quite disappointed when I put the watch on wrist on so how small that dial really is
Won’t keep time as well, Rolex has become a commodity, and is overpriced as a result, they mass produce over a million watches a year and market and price like they are handmade. So not a fair question to ask. The Seiko is a great watch and one you can probably wear without fear of being mugged.
Your reasoning for not wanting a traveller's gmt is precisely my reasoning for not liking it as well. Caller gmt all the way, if i had to make a choice. Unless it's a no-date gmt then traveller gmt is fine
Got one from a Seiko boutique while in France and the movement broke down after a week. Took it to AD in my home country, 5 months later it was back from Seiko Service Centre with a replaced movement and it was running fast 2 minutes per hour, I’m done with Seiko…. Overpriced pieces of sh*t they are. Quality control is terrible and the reliability is a joke. It’s a shame because it was not like that in the past. Got a SARB033 and love that thing. Seiko 10 years ago was Like a Toyota Land Cruiser. New models are a Dacia Logan. Stop buying those things. Rather get a Maen instead for example
All the GMT goodness incorporated into the crappiest caliber of the line - the infamous 6r35 with 70hr of power reserve and significantly worse accuracy than a 30usd caliber - its twin brother nh35
I prefer the bezel being a 24 so 3 time zones are tractable. To me a desk GMT is no good when I travel. In this configuration I would not pay the cash, better off buying a cheap Seiko for a desk gmt
It's the first time when GMT's are affordable and so more modest collecters, or those who simply don't feel like dropping an arm and a leg for watch now have options- That's the hype.
@@Christianwithacamera Yeah I get it, I just don't have interest in them personally. All I I use the gmt function for is an am/pm indicator that makes it easier to set an automatic watch. When traveling I'll use a Citizen quartz world timer.
*People who want diver GMTs are confused. Just get your SSK and stop trying to justify another Seikopath purchase of incremental difference and substantial wallet damage, you want a real GMT for the money? You should've been there with me yesterday at 11pm JST and picked up that Kurono GMT 1, That is worth the money and a true GMT, by the only government designated master watch maker in Japan. If anyone wants it I'm not really selling so its going to take a lot to get it from me, bids can start at $7000 and even then I might not let it go. Save your $ on this Seiko, it's cool but the 207 is more special, just get a GS Quartz for $1000 more, better quality better function and absolutely a true GMT, you shouldn't be confused by then.*
I dig this seiko, I have an mm200 and love it. This will make a great addition to my collection also.
I have it in black and it's my go to watch. I'm my most worn watch
Tyler At Exquisite Timepieces is my Go To Guy! I just bought this watch today from him!
I just hit him up and bought one today as well. Gave me a deal at 1350 which was the lowest price I could find at the time.
What happened to Nick at exquisite timepieces?
@@usmcgrunt02 I think he quit? I bought a bunch of watches through him.
If my MM300 ever breaks…I’ll buy one. It’s amazing how good this watch looks.
MM300s never break. I once dropped one…the floor cracked
Sweet, very lovely looking Seiko GMT!!! Out of the park with this one Seiko

Abaolutely love everything about this watch. Short if spending the bug bucks on an SLA mivement, this is definitely the one for me.
GMT complication seems to be all the rage lately! This is gorgeous
Love this watch! MM200 cases are my favorite at the moment. Great vid!
This is a stunner.
Really like it!
The new longines hydroconquest gmt has also a diver bezel 🤙🏻
Really love the case & the black version … would adore the gmt hand in orange 🍊
Been hankering for a GMT for forever.
Very nice watch. That shade of green is perfect. I've been on the hunt for a green reasonably priced watch for a while. This may be it!
Thanks Rob, Jenya at exquisite hooked me up with the black dial version.
Can you do an in-store tour at Exquisite Timepieces?
I might have to pick this one up… looks close to perfect
Gorgeous watch. Hope to own one day.

A superb piece but too bad Seiko decided to skimp on the lume. Even the turtles have better lume.
