Yeah I fell for this guy's trap on ebay too. The wheel bearings were shot, axle not even the correct size and the guy won't respond. I actually found you on amazon, looks like you were buying a trailer hub. Can't wait to watch the rest of these videos to see what you came up with!

I would weld gussets at every 90 degree corner. That would be easy to do and would make the frame a lot stronger even with those Ukrainian welds. I have a Dnepr MT-11 sidecar motorcycle which was made in Kiev Ukraine. It has the same style of welds but all the joints have gussets. KMZ (Kiev Motorcycle Factory) made Dnepr motorcycles for the Soviet Union military and for foreign military sales. Ural motorcycles were built for civilian sales and export. Later KMZ asked for permission to sell heavy motorcycles to civilians and for unlimited export to countries like Canada and the U.K. KMZ was building 125,000 motorcycles a year before the collapse of the Soviet Union union in 1991. After that Dnepr motorcycles a started being sold in the USA but were never popular due to their weight and military gearing. A Dnepr could haul 3 people, their gear, and a 1/4 ton trailer at 45 mph all day long. A Ural could never do that.
I have a Harley/Watsonian rig and 3 Urals. One from the 'old days'. We replaced every piece of hardware on it...

Got cut off pieces of those brackets laying around, yes I do. Just used a hack saw... oh this is fun.

I was considering a Cozy Euro replica of a Steib LS 200 sidecar but if that was an example of the factory quality I'm not so sure about it. That looked like some junk my neighbor would make.
Whats the dimensions of that side car frame? I want to make my own.
If the sidecar came from outside the USA, then the bolts are metric. Anyway, just measure across the head of the hex in SAE & Metric and figure out what you have.

from the center of the rear wheel on your bike to the center of the chair wheel should be 1200mm and from the center of the rear axle on the bike to the center of the chair axle it should be 250mm forward ... i know you hate metric ...but hey what can you do thats how the rest of the world works lol i race sidecars as well as having fitted one to a GS650 for the road and would strongly recommend a good steering head dampener not a cheep one

Pretty nutty remarks about the welds, and those are much cleaner than arc welds. Checking those regularly would be like checking your spark plugs daily... but piece of shit overall, sure.

You could go straight to a Ural Gear Up, and go anywhere you ever wanted to.

ok I'm not trying to wind anyone up but............. start with a flat surface get a lazer level and mark it all out in chalk on your nice level surface stick to the measurements i have given you below .... you need to know if your chair wheel and bike wheel are correctly vertical and you really need to know if chair wheel is straight or toe in etc....... if you don't get all these things spot on ....you may be looking at the worst tank slapper from hell ..... i had one that tank slapped every time i tried to slow down ....it took a long time to actually be able to stop and was really really scary .... i was lucky to be on a very long and very straight country road
I get some head shake as I pass 35mph. Pretty minor at that. No damper and I’ve got over 1,000 miles on the thing now. It’s doing fine.

Perhaps. But they have to be good to be pretty. You can’t have a great looking weld that’s bad.
Poorly balanced, crooked and poorly mounted headlight, tire that isn't even DOT approved... what could go wrong? Wouldn't put my 12 pack of Bud in that sidecar.

Apollo sidecar, sold by Redwolf Sidecars. Sorry but looking at this sidecar and seeing the poor construction from the welding to the seat upholstery to the dented body work and misaligned parts: this should be a $300 item TOPS!! The hardware also seems used/old.
The tire is an story in itself....
Redwolf should be ashamed to even sell this crap and try to make a profit on this unsafe vehicle as it is intended to be used on public roads and (shudder) highways. After seeing this vid, I will definitely stay away from Apollo and Redwolf side cars. I will look for an honest manufacturer/seller who sells a good product. Or, I might buy the plans of my liking and build my own sidecar.
Gotta say I totally agree. The next sidecar rig I build, I’ll just do it from scratch from the ground up. $300 in steel and I’ll do the body in fiberglass.
