I put a little water in the bottom when I air fry anything greasy. It helps cut down on smoke quite a bit by preventing it from burning on the hot metal.
We just got a wire rack from Lee Valley to slow bake bacon in the oven and it's fabulous for those who like a softer bacon, I drenched 2 slices in maple syrup this morning and it was life changing.
This is what we all need to do is pray for everyone and peace and compassion for everyone. God Bless everyone. I just love these videos and I am really grateful for this amazing opportunity to learn how to use the ninja foodie. I’m still new but I’m getting better now after watching these videos. I’m really grateful for this.
I love your vids man that other woman with the foodi channel waffles on far to much she just goes to in depth about everything and i get that is for some people but im glad i found your stuff i just got a ninja aswell. You got a nice set up man, that grill was smart
Does the bacon splatter get up inside the fan and heating element? That is my worry cooking bacon like that. It is hard to clean inside that. Links to the grill?
not splatter but the the hot greasy air gets into the fan. it's hard to clean the fan as you have to remove the protective grill and the heating element to get to fan. some people just boil water with vinegar/lemon in the foodi and close the lid to the foodi and let the hot moist air loosen the grease. You will still need to scrub down the foodi lid. Not a easy task to get into the tight spaces. if you have a pressure steamer with a small nozzle you may get into the fan area for the clean up
We cook bacon in our air fryer every day. The problem with ours is the mess. We own a different brand, but are looking for one that won’t make such a greasy mess all in the appliance. We have taken ours apart to change our a switch and the oil is all throughout it. What about the Ninja Foodie? Is the grease all contained within the basket?
If you don't have one, I suggest getting one during black fryday or whatever sale they have this year it's honestly really easy to clean up the ninja foodie, thanks to it's non stick coating.
Doug I watch all your cooking stuff I love my Ninja Foodie, is there a tip you've learned for cleaning the top of the ninja foodie the top grill where the fan is ? if you could make a video or let me know I would love to give it a good cleaning. Thanks your the best
I don't keep or use the foodi enough to have to clean the top, I give them away whenever the upgrades come out which is every year. I would type it in a search on youtube tho, I'm sure it has to be several by now
Very few residential kitchens have a smoke/grease evacuator that can handle fried cooking fumes. Grease will quickly build up on your cabinets, walls, and ceilings. You really should never fry anything inside your home. Instead, you should set up a 'frying station" outside on a covered, screened in patio. Residential fume extractors are nothing but expensive kitchen decorations. I know- I designed, installed and serviced kitchen evaluation system for years. I have seen first hand the disaster that can happen with the improperly designed systems. The fumes can even do expensive damage to your home HVAC system. It really is shameful home kitchens are not properly designed to handle this part of residential cooking. But, I guess it is all the market can bear.
Great video! I prefer mine not so crispy and hard. I will back it up about 2-3 minutes next time. It was my fault though I should have opened the lid before it was done. Funny Doug I ate mine also with two eggs and one piece of toast,LOL.
Bacon looks a little over cooked for my liking but that's adjustable anyway. Great to know you can do bacon like this. I usually use my George Foreman Grill so we'll have to see how it stacks up.
I am late to the party, but I just got the ninja foodi. If you think those eggs and toast were good, try it with the bacon grease 😂😂😂😂 Thank you for making this video, I am always looking for the easiest, cleanest bacon makin' method
Can you use the pressure cooker feature to preserve foods, like in mason jars? I've watched a number of these reviews and no one mentions it. Old fashioned non-electric pressure cookers can be used this way
Is this your favorite machine now? Im still on a philips airfryer but the foodi seems to check a lot of boxes... Minus the airfrying not being very uniform on the bottom and sides.
@@COOKINGWITHDOUG 100% agree. When I got my Instant Pot a while back, it was the great new thing (even though it had been around a while). I picked up a Ninja Foodi right away when it came out (watching Doug & others cook with it). And I'd say I use it half the time for purely air frying (when I'm not using it for pressure cooking). Plus the ability to finish off baby back ribs and more with the broil setting is awesome. David, I'd strongly recommend just going with the Ninja Foodi.
Love your TH-cam series, Doug! Quick question. How difficult was it to clean the Foodi air crisp lid after you finished the bacon? I’m pretty sure the pot was easy. Thanks in Advance!
@Kevin von Gillern --- You took the words right off the tips of my fingers! That's exactly what I would have done; unwrap that bacon, lay it on a cutting board still on the liner paper if you're afraid you might cut through the liner paper. Hold the bacon steady so it doesn't slide around then with a SHARP knife cut right through the center of pound. Done! But I do like his method of draping it over the steamer rack; *very* clever!
@@itsjoannotjoann5070 I've tried the hanging on the rack and have found the cook to be very uneven. Some pieces are over-done, others somewhat undone. I've heard just put them in the crisper and overlap... Move around as they cook.
Sir please send out a formal invitation to your viewers so we can eat too!😁and may I have some cheese grits too. Thank You😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 While I eat this dry a-- cookie.😣
This changed my life! I was about ready to buy the bacon rack for this machine. That was a great save!
Just got mine and you’re the reason I got one!! Your videos help me so much!! Big love all the way from Saskatchewan (Canada)
Just a little water in the bottom keeps it from smoking.

Made bacon in the Ninja today thanks to your video! Worked like a charm.
Dig the bacon in the foodi! Gonna have to try it. And I do my eggs the same way. Good stuff brother
man this is my favorite breakfast; just like you cooked it. air fryer bacon is revolutionary - so light & crispy.
We just got a wire rack from Lee Valley to slow bake bacon in the oven and it's fabulous for those who like a softer bacon, I drenched 2 slices in maple syrup this morning and it was life changing.
Hi Doug, it's cool how you can hang the bacon in the foodie it came out crispy and delicious.
Got a ninja foodie for Christmas not sure how to use it but your videos have helped me a lot thank you
thanks doug..i'm getting a foodi for xmas, this is the FIRST recipe i'll try 😍🙆❤️️
You will love it. It’s awsome.
hey Doug, why didnt you just make those eggs in the foodie. Cook them in that bacon fat and put the toast on the rack while you cook them. xxoo
Wouldn't the bacon get cold? Or could you throw them back in?
Brilliant
Thanks for sharing a bite with me! I love bacon and I would really love a springform pan!
Man, after seeing this I did my bacon the same way and it's perfect. Those eggs are perfect too!
Just love your videos!
You made my mouth water.....cannot wait to try.
First time watching ya cook... I would have no problem sharing a meal with you. Learned a bunch...new at this

Doug l love your recipes!!!! God Bless You and your Family and l hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!!!
Thank you for this. Just used your recipe and found the bacon stuck to the rack so I will oil the rack in future . Nice bacon though.

Love the paper towel machine. I need one ! Great video 👋🏼
Man you got all the gadgets.. Now where did you get the grill from? I asked about the Paper towel dispenser on the other vid?
Yuckie? That’s good seasoning and natural oil for frying other things like eggs.
True...I guess I meant it looked yuckie
Where do I pick up the indoor Ceramic grill

great review so question for you do you prefer the Ninja foodi are the instant pot?
Foodi!!!
Awesome! I just got my Ninja tonight!
8 minutes @ 350 is perfect if you don’t like them crispy like this
Thanks for the info. I like it less crispy for my breakfast but more crispy like the way he did it for salads or meals toppings.
BLOCKED
The bacon recipe worked as stated. 🙂 It was nice to have bacon drained of it's fat, crispy, and tender.
just recently got a ninja foodi with crisper and it's amazing how many great things you can do with it! thanks for posting this.
How was the cleanup of the Ninja Foodi after you cooked the bacon?

Great way to cook a large amount of bacon, will definitely try it this way!
Hey, Lisa!! Been missing your videos. Hope and pray that you and your family are safe and well!! 🙏♥️🙋🏻♀️
I wasn't able to get the bottoms crispy--thr very tops got crispy, the middles got cooked, and the tips were the cooked side of raw. Any tips?

Cut the bacon in half while in the package; much easier.
Bacon, the candy of meats. I like it thick cut with a little chewy to it. Used to like the Hormel Black Label, now go with thick cut.
Ike the ranter, I like that. The candy of meats. It truly is.

Ahhhhhh your brain on drugs... any questions. Lol 😆 🤣 😂
Remember them old commercials?
Anyone know the difference between Air Crisp and Broil besides there being no temp adjustment for broil?
Maybe also no fan?
Not an expert but broil gives heat from the top, directly down but the air fryer circulates very hot air around your food..it gets crispier
What brand griddle is this
Can you use the ninja foodie as dehydrator?

The instapot duo crisp has instructions for that. They may be the same for the foodi?
Great video!! So trying. Question where can I get the ceramic grill?
Got my grill at Sears for 52.00

they're overcooked. you might want to rotate the rack halfway in between cooking.
Are you the type to eat raw bacon? That bacon was perfect!
Is it weird I smelled bacon when you opened that thing up through the screen?
Crispy bacon is the best!
Doug that is amazing!
Breakfast Looks Amazing !! Do you have to cook the whole pack to use this method? Thanks for sharing 😀❤️😀

Where can I get that rack
I believe it's the one that comes with the Foodie.
Why didn’t you fry the eggs in the foodie?
Because the bottom is not flat, but I could have I guess
Put couple tbs water in bottom to stop smoke
FYI...tip...cut the entire block of bacon with a knife before you separate it.
