Absolutely loved this interview. Very informative and very interesting view point from the General. Dhanyavad Surya sir and Stratnews Team for this interview. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
The traditional mode of operation of China is to come into your tetritory, sit in your territory, then to invite you for negotiation, then take some territory that never belonged to it. The classic example is the south china sea.
congrats Gen Sharma for your clear vision of the actual position on LAC E Ladakh and Surya Gangadar deserves kudos for his short questions which made eloquent replies from the general
We need to allow population settlement in all these forward areas and support them. Why is it so difficult for ordinary citizens to even get permission to visit these areas?
Sir, Your comments on the lack of perception on our part to pre-empt PLA actions on the LAC/IB. We've faced these situations repeatedly and fail pull our act together. Inability to read Chinese intent at Dokala and Galwan have resulted in creation of huge Chinese infrastructure at both these places, permanent deployment of forces and commitments in terms of funds, manpower etc on our part.
r/mental gymnastics/FACTS and you get the proper picture. 7:55 It's a two way thing a moratorium on patrolling means they too lost land but I guess that does not sell very well when you say it does it
It is needed to clarify the blockage of Y junction towards Depsang, which is blocked by Chinese Army,How india army be able to acess Depsang plateau by land....This is biggest lapse to our security
Lt.Gen seems to be a good tactician but seems to lack strategic depth. This is not say only this particular Gen has limited strategic depth, culturally we rely on that "one head" to do all the thinking and then disseminate.
The Lt Gen sounds quite unconvincing, hiding behind verbose jargon. How many patrol points have we lost access to and how many have we denied them access to. Pretty simple question with two numbers as answers. His answer to “What is domination” also sounded pretty weak. He uses the word “domination” interchangeably with patrolling. His mention of “No habitation in some of those areas” sounds uncomfortably close to Nehru’s “Not a blade of grass grows there”. I feel Uncomfortable saying this but , based on this conversation, I think the Army leadership has faltered here and is letting the Political establishment take the blame. There is a reason the post of CDS was vacant fora while. We needed the right Army General to become senior enough to occupy the post that is the first among equals. Every time you hear “ the Chinese are tying us down” or “ they are denying us permission” make me cringe, as an Indian. We gave you guys the guns and equipment to handle these five feet nothing guys holding red banners and sticks and rocks. Pretty poor impression., General. Apologies. So what if our graziers cross over and there is a diplomatic incident. It happens with our fishermen all the time. Please Do your job and let the diplomats do theirs.
had modiji listened to this general he would not have fallen into the chinese trap. please modiji, take some advisors into your team who are not "yesprimeministerpersons".
*naa koi aaya hai naa koi ghusa hai *se kam nahi chalega. Enough warnings given by Chinese since Doklam. Chinese carried out agression on india in April/may 2020 and we were caught napping resulting into loss of big chunk of indian territory. India must respond with credible deterrence.
Also keep in mind the Chinese are known to build ghost cities/empty infrastructure. Most of these settlements may be vacant. We need to get an actual head count using drones.
What happens if Chinese and Indian grazers come to the same area to graze, on the LAC, at the same time? I'm sure that they don't believe that the grazing land belongs to themselves. Why aren't they allowed to come to an understanding amongst themselves? What is the solution to the standoff between the Chinese and Indian troops on land that is not habitable and is a desert? What could be the reason for this? It seems that it has become easier for the troops from both sides to come face to face, because of the improvement of infrastructure on both sides. We do need talks to settle the border.

I don't know how the thought that Chinese will not try to intrude in our territory comes to mind of Indian Govt and officials dealing with China .......
Very smartly putting loss of land on Chinese side. Can you tell how many Patrol points Chinese have lost during this land grabbing process. Lt. Gen is trying to insinuate that Chinese are the loser in this conflict. Please specify how many Chinese Patrol points are blocked by Indian army.

It's such a pleasure to listen to Gen Sharma, his deep knowledge of the terrain and the overall tactical picture
Very clear, uncluttered explanations from a great patriot of India. Thank you General Sharma sir 🙏
ADGPI, MoD, Please take care of our men. Don't let our men fall short of equipment and arms. This conflict will linger for decades.

India is waking up to the concept of " Forever Wars " or Prolonged Wars. Jai Hind.
India must prepare for any eventuality and be equally prepared in every area of defence.
Surya did a good job saying we are not assertive enough and pointing this out to the General around minute 33
Excellent. Candid. Real. Thank you.

Excellent probing questions by the Senior Journo.

Host : questions
Guest : no no they're exaggerating. *insert mental gymnastics* but yes *confirms everything almost word to word.

The army guy still with the British DNA... thinking everything is theirs if they just say it
Well said by the General... Surya saab please try and get the Def Minister to talk on this.... Nice talk anyway.. Thanks

Depsang area should be important, that gives acess to karakoram highway,
The General has great potential for Indian politics. He has great skills in equivocating and knows how to circumlocute.
