- One of the greatest screen actors of the modern era, as well as an acclaimed director in her own right, Liv Ullmann was closely involved both professionally and personally with Ingmar Bergman. They shared a creative collaboration that spanned several decades, beginning with Persona. She visited the BFI Southbank to talk about her work on films such as Cries and Whispers, Autumn Sonata and Faithless, and offer her unique insights into the great Swedish writer-director.

Bergman’s final film, Saraband, is a sequel to Scenes from a Marriage, made 30 years later with the same cast, Liv Ullman and Erland Josephson, 30 years later, both elderly, playing the same characters. An amazing achievement for all.

Anastasia Beaverhausen I was thinking the same thing. She was wonderful in A Bridge Too Far.
She IS very healthy. When she talks about certain LOVED ONES she gets nervous including a little shaky. Liv always has perfect posture and a very strong gait in her walk. Liv avoids doctors and hospitals.
She held babies in leper camps.
She’s gone to Africa and work with AIDS patients.
I witnessed her standing firmly on her toes to kiss a tall guy - who half his face was paralyzed - the guy can’t get over his ugly looks - on her tippy toes she kissed him on the cheek bone ... suddenly the palsy didn’t matter at all. I witnessed it!

Watching her hand move her glasses toward her face @ 2:03. That's a very Parkisonian movement. Fine dexterity is a problem. At her age, many people have an essential tremor that does not become as debilitating as PS. Hope that's the case.

@@jessica5497 she'd look like Dolly Parton or Jane Fonda if she shared those values. It wouldn't hurt to run a comb through her hair. She is as I imagined she would look.. She's still beautiful . Probably never shaved her arm pitts either unless the role required. Think it's a Swede Swiss Danish thingish.

Ullmans affair with Bergman wrecked his cinematic vision, at best she was a second-rate actress.
