    Pretty cool. I knew about half of them but that is only because I have already watched every other "things you didn't know about Sweden" video on TH-cam. I have visited Sweden 3 times in the last 6 months, from warm to freezing cold. It was really nice though, because the only snow I have seen all year was in Sweden because of where I live in the US. I love snow so being here it just gets cold but without snow it is just a big inconvenience and kind of depressing in my opinion.

    • @ThreeStarVagabond

      I can imagine that that's the best way to see Sweden, actually - experience both summer and winter, without spending too much time in either season. The snow is lovely and it's really nice...for a while. The issue is just when it's been three months of darkness and cold and snow. Then it really starts to feel miserable :D

    Your war segment reminded me of something i heard when I lived in Sweden. It's that all the churches ring the bells during war or a kings death. Not sure of the facts of this. But the distance from one church to the next was roughly the distance one could hear the bells. A way of ringing information across the length of the country.

    • @ThreeStarVagabond

      @@ThreeStarVagabondYeah. Someday.
      Also, I read in a book (fictional) by Stefan Ahnhem (I think he's pretty Swedish) that says that the Malmö police department has the most unsolved cases.

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kvo3542 That could actually be true! I just did a cursory search in the police register (they have a page online where you can search among cold cases), and Stockholm has five unsolved cases - but Malmö has more than a hundred. It’s true that people often confuse Sweden with Switzerland. When I visited Sweden in 2021 most oft my friends kept asking me how I liked Switzerland. I told them I didn’t know since I wasn’t there. When I told them how excited I was to be practicing my Swedish language skills, they would ask why I was speaking Swedish in Switzerland? Sigh! Even when I sent them photos via my smartphone of me in Sweden it would only confuse them.
    The only friends that knew I was in Sweden were former classmates of my Swedish cooking and language classe! They asked me to bring home Knorr fish cubes and a Swedish coffee. Even in Sweden I met a guy in my hostel who freaked everyone out because he was a conservative who hated socialism. He asked me why my t-shirt said Sverige and argued with me that it didn’t mean Sweden in Swedish. In the end he said I was the nicest socialist he ever met when I told him it was strange that he picked an interesting place to visit his dislike of anything that remotely resembled socialism. I said that democratic socialism is not the same as communism, etc. He was so annoying that I decided to put him to good use by having him carry my heavy stuff when I went shopping for food and souvenirs that I was mailing home, much to the amusement of the others in the hostel. I always attract the loonies whenever I travel.😮
    When I returned home and I was asked if I planned on returning to Switzerland after I told them I had been to Sweden, I told them that in fact I had been in Swaziland, a country in Africa. What I visited Iceland many years ago people kept telling me to watch out for leprechauns and not fall asleep near mounds. Sigh! Never a dull moment in my life!

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's amazing! I get the Sweden - Switzerland confusion but I started laughing at the Iceland - Ireland bit as well :D
      And what an...interesting...fellow! Sounds like you did the best you could out of the situation. Sometimes loonies can be useful after all. Did you get earplugs so you could ignore any further ramblings? ;D
      Thanks for a lovely story - I was sitting here grinning like a madman while reading it!

    Your statement about the Swedish definition of Islands is wrong. The exact definition of an island that was used to count 267,000 islands in Sweden is based on the real estate map of Lantmäteriet, the national land survey office of Sweden. According to this map, an island is a piece of land that is:
    * surrounded by water
    * at least 9 square metres in area

    Braveheart Iceman Vagabond, you made a great sacrifice for us while walking on frozen water. You put your life in dangerous positions for the sake of giving knowledge to your audience. But you know some people occasionally drop themselves into frozen water and then run into saunas in Finland and also Sweden. I am glad not to see that on your videos. Utube might consider that extremely violent :D Joking aside, another fantastic video about facts and general knowledge. The hilarious part was I saw a Horny Satyr Vagabond in Ice Hotel :D I wish to know the name of the video. Do you have it in your channel?
    Also, I wish to know how Swedes are quite fit when thinking about there are many McDo and most importantly the best pastries in the world. I think the coffee supply is important for the country. I hope there will be no shortage of coffee otherwise Winter depression effect can be doubled.
    Interestingly, I encountered many videos about Gustavus Adolphus this week. The legendary king of Sweden and an innovative military genius. I would like to know more about the history of Gustavus. I know he is an important figure when considering the history of Sweden. The lion from the North - Sabaton :)
    Ah, additionally I know you are a geeky cheeky nerd like me :D There is a new cinematic from Riot for League of Legends. I don't play the game anymore but the cinematic was a mouth-dropping masterpiece. I wanted to recommend it to you if you missed that.
