    Places within the city actually are quite near to each other.

    If only there are proper walkways and good sidewalk,then walking is really viable.

      Agree, government should make more safer walkways so people will walk more which is a good exercise than just commuting and being stuck in traffic for hours. Look at the countries in Europe specifically Finland, they have decent walkways and bike/scooter lanes.

    • @MiddleAgedGeek
      @MiddleAgedGeek ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Convenience and comfort are 2 things to be considered to make walking an everyday activity in the PH. Our weather system (hot and humid even some days during Amihan season) will be a major factor for people to accept walking as alternative to commuting. Stuck for hours in an airconditioned vehicle than walking between 2 and 4kms will boil down to choice.

    • @josefpaolo
      @josefpaolo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@MiddleAgedGeek That's true but it is really important that the PH cities' gov give the people that choice. Having a walkable city doesn't mean that people who drive would no longer drive or people who ride jeeps would no longer ride jeeps. This just means that the people in the city have an option to walk instead of being forced to commute.

    I wish you would be a BGC Mayor so to make the City prestine. Also good thing no snatcher snatch your camera. at least Pinoys are still kind hehe. Nice walk to BGC though. And you are brave walking the street, and you act like a local.

    The problem with some of the bridges here in Manila is that the pedestrian walkway is more of an afterthought. You shouldn't be walking on the "catway" you find the other people are doing. The correct way is to go up/down the stairs. There is a street that goes around and under the bridge on the Pasig side where you go up to get to the bridge then on the Guadalupe side you did the right thing and go down the stairs. The "catwalks" are not intended for pedestrians and people are just doing them because it is a longer way around using the stairs and streets.

    You are very brave. A face mask to prevent inhalation of polluted air from vehicles can help.. just a suggestion.
    Walkways should be developed...that is safe, lighted and with proper signage. Walking should be encouraged. Walking is good exercise. It can reduce gas use thus reducing pollution and reduce lung diseases and saves money. Walking can decrease vehicles on the road thus less traffic and traffic accidents.

    if Manila wants to improve how people get around Metro Manila, they need to make the streets easier people to walk. right now the priority is cars and now look at it, so many cars and too much traffic.
