- Prepositions in English are the WORST to understand! I know! In, On, and At are terrible words, however, they don't have to be too confusing. Today I'm showing you the easy way of understanding prepositions with time by categorising them. Of course English has exceptions and we'll talk about those too! Oh and there's a little test at the end to make sure you get everything! :)

1) My birthday is *ON* the 25th of October.
2) My best friend's birthday is *IN* May.
3) If I could live *IN* any century, it would be *IN* the 2300s.
4) It would be best to visit my country (Pakistan) *AT* Eid (special day.)
5) It's already 4:00 *IN* the morning. So, I'm going to wake up *AT* 2:00 *IN* the afternoon. And that's what I always do *AT/ON* the weekends.
6) I have plans to visit London *IN* the future, but plans can change to *"HAD PLANS."*
I think (on) Eid.. Cuz it's special day..
(at) for specific time in the year or in the day..
I don't get tired of watching your videos. It's because your classes are IN my heart and ON my mind AT the moment.

2) I don't have a best friend but I can invent one. My best friend's birthday is on August 11th.

Why do they call it "Fall" when the leaves fall but don`t say "Grow" for a time of year when they grow?

Winter - dead
Spring - grow
Summer - floating
Autumn - fall
Nay, it's like Texan y'all: "Summer is over? F*** *** all..." Hence, it's called f'all.
@@somnvm37 All I am hearing is Pennywise upon mentioning Summer and floating.
As far as I know, the word "fall" in the meaning "autumn" was common in England in the 16-17 centuries. Therefore, first English settlers in North America used this word at the time. Then gradually it became obsolete in Britain, but is still used in the US.

1) My birthday is on the 19th of July.
2) My best friend's birthday is in February.
3) I'd like to live in the 24th century (to be part of Captain Picard's star fleet: TNG Star Trek 😀).
4) I think the best time of year to visit my Country is in the late spring/early summer ..... also in September.
5) I'm going to wake up at 7:30am tomorrow.

All in all, I will try to answer your question about American English using "on" the weekend. My lecturer from US said it's because we are in the middle of the weekend, so we are using "on". I have ever asked the same question as yours.
