I moved to Bulgaria almost 20 years ago now. Of all the countries I have lived in it truly stands apart. From rolling hills to valleys of roses to snow covered mountains, then on to the seaside, Bulgaria has it all. As if that wasn't enough the entire country is littered with ancient ruins and archeological marvels spanning from pre Roman empire all the way through to the stunning monasteries of the more recent past. I have spent almost two decades here and I still find new sights, fascinating ruins and beautiful landscapes to take in. I could do without the 40c+ summers but I guess it's just a good excuse to escape up to the mountains where it's lovely and cool.
