My girlfriend and I did a Rila Monastery and 7 Lakes tour. The van we were in couldn't make it up the mountain to the 7 Lakes because it was snowing like crazy....IN OCTOBER. 😂 It was actually only snowing as we were getting closer to the top. There wall literally a random cut-off on the mountain road where the decent weather ended and the snowy weather began. Our driver told us he'd never seen it happen at that time of year before, so he hadn't changed to winter tires. We missed out on the lakes, but really enjoyed the Monastery and other church he brought us to. It looks beautiful. Going to have to revisit Bulgaria for attempt #2. 😃
OK- so we were planning on only staying in Sofia when we get to Bulgaria.... but after watching this I think we will visit the 7 lakes! Great video!!!!
If you're in the country for a holiday/vacation you're going to miss out on so much if you just stay in Sofia. There's everything - caves, lakes, mountains, rivers, valleys, old towns and historical sightings

Thank you for picking up that soda can and helping keep the mountain clean!
Thanks for making this beautiful video. I would love to go there. I was in Nessebur on a Black Sea cruise and always wanted to go back to see more of Bulgaria.
Great vlog. 👊 love Bulgaria ❤️
Looking forward to seeing Sofia 👍👏👏👏👏
Thank you! Next Sunday!
@@KeepGoingPlaces 👍👊 we are planning visit to Sofia next summer. Thank you for all your hard work and content 💚
Awesome, you’ll love it! Thank you; glad you’re enjoying it!
@@KeepGoingPlaces thank you. Were are also planning train trips. Any plans to cover?
Paris to Milan is one that is on our list. Vienna heading west, another. 👍
I live in Bulgaria and here is a massage in Bulgarian:
Добре дошли в България!
My girlfriend and I did a Rila Monastery and 7 Lakes tour. The van we were in couldn't make it up the mountain to the 7 Lakes because it was snowing like crazy....IN OCTOBER. 😂
It was actually only snowing as we were getting closer to the top.
Wow, that’s wild the snow hit that hard in October! Wish y’all could have experienced the hike that day - Bulgaria 🇧🇬 is worth a second trip!
България ❤
Great job on this one yall, one of the best you've made IMO
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this one so much! Definitely one of our personal favorites too 😊
OK- so we were planning on only staying in Sofia when we get to Bulgaria.... but after watching this I think we will visit the 7 lakes! Great video!!!!
Nice! Y’all will love the Rila area; it’s beautiful (especially that hike!).
If you're in the country for a holiday/vacation you're going to miss out on so much if you just stay in Sofia. There's everything - caves, lakes, mountains, rivers, valleys, old towns and historical sightings
Yes! That sounds lovely. We are traveling for a year so our budget is a little tight and we can’t afford to do everything we really want to do. Hopefully one day tho!
How many days are you here for? Really consider Plovdiv. As a Bulgarian from Sofia, we got nothing on Plovdiv :)
We aren’t sure yet. In Belgrade at the moment.
Very interesting video and beautiful filming! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
благодарим ние булгарите ье ти ни посити държавата ни. Thanks from us bulgarians for visiting our country
yesterday an irish man came and asked me if i spoke english, he wanted a buy a ticket to plovdiv and then to sofia , i can't believe a guy like him is out alone crossing countries, i mean he was atleast 60+ . yet he choose bulgaria, watching these makes me really wounder about my country, we grew up in it so that means we can't aknoledge the wounders and beuties of our nature .watching videos like these makes me understand 1st how underated my country is , 2 why we still have tourists altough covid is still going . 3rd you never know what you have until you lose it .
Another excellent video - love taking the chair lift as a precursor to the awesome hike you embarked on. Everything seems so peaceful & relaxing. Nice driving to avoid getting stuck in the mud !
Thank you 😊 The hike and scenery were incredible! That mud was no match for this tag-team 😂
Yay! I'm so happy you liked Bulgaria! Really glad you decided to visit Rila mountain, it has some gorgeous places! 🇧🇬❤

If you are searching for a a nice beach in Bulgaria,I recommend you Neseber(Несебър) or just go to Varna.A mistake that travelers make while going to Bulgaria is staying focused on the capital,There is much more! Also the nodding meaning is reversed.Thank you so much for visiting Bulgaria 🇧🇬!!! 😃
The first comment!🙋
Glad to see your video friend
Thanks 😊
I live in Dupnitsa, near Seven Rila Lakes, I was there yesterday and I saw a lot of foreigners going to see the lakes and the monastery, we even took two belgian guys in autostop going to the elevator from Sapareva Banya
Seem a few videos about Bulgaria recently and this one is my fave! The hike looked beautiful, I'd be out of breath on that steep section!!
Greetings from Macedonia
Love the name. Keep going places is sooooo important, keeps expanding one's viewpoint of the world and makes the mind as open as it can get. Godspeed on your journeys!
Thank you !! Great Video :)
Thank you!
You guys are amazing! Thanks for taking this journey and showing off the beauties of Bulgaria to other people. You could visit some other very interesting cities like Plovdiv, the old part of it. Or Nesebar, Gabrovo to see Etara and the beautiful Yantra river or enjoy the carnival that they do every summer, or Veliko Turnovo and the fort there. So many places to see and to go. Wishing you all the best, you are a lovely couple. Would love to see more videos from Bulgaria!
I am Bulgaria and I am happy with your nice feelings in Seven Rila Lakes ❤️
Really well done, I was a tour guide before the corona and this video brings back memories for me, I used to visit the lakes quite often. I hope you had a great time exploring my country. Wish you all the best. 😊
You are amazing showing our beautiful country thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed your stay in our beloved country!
Thanks for the video from my home country. It is not so "cultivated", but the experiences are real and unforgettable. Thanks for keeping nature clean. You are always welcome!
Thank you for visiting Bulgaria. It looks like you had a great time!
Looks like you saw quite a few sights, including our sometimes terrible roads. 😂
Thank you! Yes, gotta love the roads at times 😂 We enjoyed our time in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Sometimes? They are bad all year round, they do a full repair of the highway and a couple years later, if even that, another full repair😂😂😂

Very well made video of your travel. I really enjoyed it, guys! I can also recommend the GRAYL bottle, which I noticed on the side of your backpack even before you mentioned it. I've been to the 7 Rila Lakes when I was a kid and now, after watching your video, I'd like to go there again.
Well I'm bulgarian and I can tell you that you haven't seen nothing yet :) There is way more to be seen, but it would took a lot of time. And the most of the places would need to be visited with a car, because there is no public transport to them. Anyway, I'm glad you like our small country !
Пеша....кво ти става?
Going down one of these slippery slopes many many summers ago left me a couple of scars. Nostalgia hits hard watching this😢
