I read somewhere that if you are netting a squid, it's better to come from behind them, as opposed to trying to swim them in like you would a fish, that way when they try to push backwards they go straight into the net.

What with lockdowns and filthy weather my boat has not left the marina for 3 mths. 6mtr swell again at the moment but with fingers crossed, we may get out in a week or so. Thank you for sharing........
Do you notice any difference noticeable difference between using fresh squid as bait vs buying frozen squid at the bait shop? I always end up eating the calamari that I catch but I'm keen to use them as bait for next time
The mirrored jig is called “Clinch” by Yamashita (I think) and it has been a star for me too. I have found that it works best when the water is reasonably clear and the sun is out making the mirroring more effective. On overcast days I find dark colours work the best for me which I think replicates the actual below surface visibility of all fish. Extra points for you in persevering through trying conditions!
I think Nev has done a catch and cook video previously. However, I'm keen for Nev to show us other ways he likes to cook squid, like I'm really wanting to learn how to do stuffed squid.

It’s a lot harder then it looks here, was getting very frustrated. Was anchored in strong current, had an 8ft7 rod and a short net. Usually pedal toward them when drifting to net and it’s easy as

Nah the jig is a flashboost by Shimano, very good jigs. Yeah white foils are great, along with reds. Only 2 colours you need
