  • ''It’s the Season to Go Squid Fishing.''
    Something I always look forward to every season. Not because of the action but also the great eating.
    I’ve put together a 2 part How to guide on squid fishing and which rigs and techniques I use when targeting these winter beasts.
    The 1st past (this video) shows us how to build 3 different squid rigs:
    The two Squid jig Rig
    The Bling rig
    The squid float rig
    Each of these rigs are EASY to make, very easy to work and of course make life easier when targeting squid.
    In Part two I will be using the jigs to catch squid. (More to come when released in a weeks’ time)

    Components needed for each rig:
    The Two jig Rig:
    2 x mono lines (between 25-50lb) Approx. 3/4ft in length
    3 Lure clips
    2 squid Jigs of your choice
    The Bling Rig:
    1 x squid Jig
    2 x lure clips
    1 x Float Light with tubing
    3/5 Aluminous beads
    25-50lb mono (rig body)

    The Squid Float Rig:
    2 x swivels
    2 x beads
    Rig body mono (25lb - 50lb)
    1 x squid jig or squid needed/ bait cage
    1 large float (recommend a 50g float)
    Float weigh (always go smaller than recommended) - in this instance I’m using a 50g float and a 35g weight.
    Bait of your choice.
    Bait Elastic
    If you liked the video and thought it helped, give us a thumbs up. If you want to see more tune in for the 2nd part in a weeks time. Also subscribe for mr helpful videos. - and press the bell so you are kept unto date with uploads.
    Big love all round. BTWF!

    I’ve used bling rigs for tailor or as you’d call them bluefish in jersey but never used them for squid which is a lot smarter to use it for, bout to go to Busselton for a squid and salmon trip fingers crossed to bling setup goes well

  • @ibstar82portage94
    @ibstar82portage94 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why don't you use a dropper loop?

  • @karlstokes874
    @karlstokes874 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Something i like to do when using your " bling rig" is to cut the plastic tube in half that you attach the glow stick to your rig with.
    Thread them both on as per normal.
    Attach a piece to both ends of the glow stick.
    This makes the rig a little more aerodynamic for when you need to cast further.
    Great video again mate

    How many meter you have on your reel (what reel size you use?) when you use 25-50 lb monoline? Isn't it a bit to strong?

    • @BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey
      @BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Where I’m fishing for squid usually is rough ground. I also use braid on my mainline and then mono on the rig /leader line. I fish at night mostly also so the thickness off the line doesn’t matter to the squid. Hope this helps

    • @frankweingart8096
      @frankweingart8096 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got it thank you. Braided as mainline and stronger jig line to possibly get the lure out of stones or rubble, makes sense to me now.

    • @ReneeOrson
      @ReneeOrson ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the great info. For the braid main line, usually how much pound size is recommended?

    What an horrible knot, at least do a uni to uni knot if you can't manage a fg one, it's super easy and can still go through the eyes of the rod. Other than that great vid tutorial! 👌
