    Thank you for taking the time to post this video. I replaced my M-sport brakes myself last week and used this video as a check to make sure I did it properly!👍 Thanks again and please keep up the good work!🙏

    Thanks a lot! Today I changed rotors and brake pads with your help. Went smooth! The only thing missing in the video is information about brake sensor - which side inside which outside but I assumed that flat side should be outside. Thanks!

    Thanks. Video helped me to see it's quite a easy change. Just a note. This is the M Sport Brake system that doesn't come with all cars. Mine has the M brakes and this was perfect. Going to pick up a replacement set today and quickly do the brakes

    this is the simplest brake pad job I have ever seen. thank you so much my friend! couple questions: 1- does this work for 2021 LCI with brake regen? if I don't use Bimmer code yet (under warrantee) can I reset brake from IDrive 7?

    • @FullBoltOnGarage
      @FullBoltOnGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for thr kind words my friend I appreciate it!! So yes this willwork with 2021. Just open bimmerlink and deactivate! Second you can use bimmerlink to reset. This will not void your warranty.. You can also use bimmercode no problem!

    Makes me wish I had the M-sport brakes, not for increased braking power but rather for the simplicity.
    Out of curiosity, you put lube on the surface of the pad that touches the rotor?

    F90 brakes are different. U have to remove the caliper unlike the g30 brakes for the front. The rears are the same technique for both the g30 and f90

  • @adamvolasko225
    @adamvolasko225 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you need to take the caliper off to remove the rotor or is there enough clearance with the pads remove to slide the rotor off the hub ring?

    I know that the G30 M sport 374mm brakes can fit on an F10. But would it be safe to assume that the G30 M performance 395mm calipers could also fit on the F10 if they bolt on the same as G30 M Sport calipers??

    Can you also use a screwdriver to push the pistons on the REAR caliper AFTER rolling back the electromechanical actuator? Or do you need a clamp or special tool

    • @Ally.MacMillan
      @Ally.MacMillan 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can but a simple inexpensive push back tool is better than a screwdriver.
      It’s also possible to push them back by hand in some cases.

    These fixed caliper pad swap is so easy. The local shop wants 240 just for labor each for front and rear. lol, hell no. The rear is a bit tricky bc BMW cheap out putting floating caliper unlike on f30 all fixed caliper front and rear. Also u can reuse the sensor if it is not triggered already or not fused to the pad bc of wear.

  • @jirijansa356

    I am gonna be doing mine in couple days both front and rear thanks to your videos but I do have one question I am gonna be doing discs as well do I have to remove the caliper on front to change the disc? I know on back the disc will slide out without removing the caliper bracket . Tia

    I removed the pins but the pads would not move. This is 2018 540 with 58,000 mi on it, there some wear on the rotor already, perhaps contributing to the problem. The rotor spins, so I know it's not jammed. Tried to knock on them from the back with no effect. Put the pins back and thinking I need that spreader tool BMW listed in their instructions. Did anyone else have this problem?

      This is a massive NO. Never lubricate the pad material. The lubricant goes on the back side of the pad where it meets the calliper pistons.

      For you guys freaking out I love to lube my pads up alot. I've had to remove calipers before even after I thought I had enough grease so now I just put it everywhere. After applying the brakes 1 time it will dissipate so its not a huge issue.

    I just did my front break pads on my g20 with m sport breaks ... followed all instruction from video .. then went for spin and there was click noise everytime I released break pedal .. after like 15 released click noise gone . However I parked my car and went to shop and start driving again click noise from pedal again . Every time I park car and start driving click noise coming back and after breaking it stops ... any idea what that would be ... its coming from the pedal ...🤷‍♂️
