my 1997 civic coupe HX doesn't have a cabin air filter, or any lid that opens behind the glove box that contains the CAF behind it , smh. mine is a usdm model and have found no luck for 96-00 usdm civic CAF. Help or answers anyone? thankyou.
gustavo Castillo I know im late buddy but i have a 99 si and i went to change mine and no filter and a ton of leaves lol. I read up and the usdm civics from 99 to 00 dont have one but a filter for a 99 CRV is the same size. Just rig up a holder so it will fit inside a little more snug. I made mine out of cardboard and wrapped it in duct tape. Then placed the filter inside it and it fit in pretty snug. It made my AC blow much stronger and I def recomend doing it!!! If you got any questions just let me know. Also pull your blower while your down there it will be filled with leaves and shit. Lol. Hope i could help bro.
Hello Friend! As you did? Do you have photos or videos? My Civic 99 Lx also has no filter. It's the same as this th-cam.com/video/RG8ndEQhTII/w-d-xo.html Thank you!
Tom and to all who did this, how is your AC doing? Is there any negative effect after installation. I wonder, with this kind of setup (IRREGULAR), i guess, they have left the system intentionally without a filter. For whatever reason they have, you might have known already.
piston ring all working perfectly fine after installation, the air was nice and fresh and even had alot more powerful blow out the air ducts! A/c had no problems with after either
So I did this, and there wasn't even a filter in it. So 17 years of gunk was just sitting in there and I had to vacuum it out before I put the new filter in. Lol
That's just this part where the air comes through from inside the car to recirculate it. Comes from there then through the filter and then back into the car vents
There are several part numbers for this as many manufacturers make them. If you live in the UK 🇬🇧 then you can go to Halfords and get one or your main dealer
There are several videos on youtube about this but yours is the best one. Thanks mate!
This is really best video, compared to all others in youtube. But I suggest to clean the compartment before putting a new filter :)
Brilliant. Thanks.
Keep it up Tom 👍🏻

Tippeefewt thanks, maybe you can give the filter code# or where you ordered it if ever you live here in USA.
piston ring I don't have the code sorry :( I live in the UK 🇬🇧 try your local Honda dealer or parts suppliers
how to brake a clip tie... hard eihmmm?
Whats the size of the cabin filter that you put ?
Christian jesar I can't remember the size sorry
I think you should rig yourself a chin mount or something for your camera.

Justin Griffith at least you don't have leaves coming in through your vents like they do with mine during the fall. It's so annoying.
Actually that's the reason why I decided to replace it. Haha Pieces of leaves would shoot out of my vents all the time.
I bet I don't even have one because whole leaves come out of my vents
What's that plastic grate looking thing next to the air box
