- In the late stages of endometrial cancer, Dr. Bernadette Tynan candidly describes the dangers of mis-diagnosis and the early warning signs that women should be aware of.
The video was made in August 2017, one month before Bernadette sadly passed away. The film includes scenes from Bernadette's home town of St Astier, France, which was decorated for the traditional Félibrée festival in the summer of 2017.

Watched this till the end. I'm a 62 year old man, and I'll never get this cancer, but I felt it was the very least I could do to listen to her story. No words can express what a beautiful soul she had. God bless her, and shame on the doctors who failed her.

So... The first physician failed to detect the actual tumor hanging out of her uterus, then scrapes the uterine lining sending the cancerous cells throughout her entire body, then the physicians misdagnose the metastases and also deny her a lifesaving hysterectomy, and then they misplace the radiation beam and burn her stomach so she can't digest any food anymore? And I'm not even half way through the video. Can't put into words how furious I am.
But the "vaccine" is safe... Experts!

She’s a doctor herself. A life wasted on misdiagnosed too busy doctors who saw her. A warrior in her own right. Her life story deserves a Nobel Peace Prize and ANY Humanitarian Award for peace, bravery and love. Rest now.

There's a lot of medical bias towards women(of colour even more) in healthcare, especially surrounding the reproductive system. Most is probably not deliberate on the doctors part, but a lot of serious conditions get dismissed repeatedly before finally being diagnosed. It's too bad that this woman could have had a better outcome if the cancer had been caught earlier

She has a doctorate, but not in a scientific subject. She got herself extremely mixed up. I think she must have had ovarian cancer, not endometrial cancer. A D&C is a very thorough test for endometrial cancer, and this was performed on her. It is more thorough than a simple endometrial biopsy, which takes only a little piece of tissue, and could miss the cancer. A D&C checks the entire endometrium for cancer.
Medical negligence is terrifying. The mistakes that could have been avoided. What a strong courageous woman. RIP.

So many mistakes made in her history. What I don't understand is that in order to find abnormal cells, a biopsy would be necessary (or a scraping as she had). Or is a hysterectomy a first step? There's lots of discussion about how there are too many needless hysterectomies (not in her case of course).
@Jon Jackson It's done like this: respect, listen to and validate your patients. Had doctors done that for me it wouldn't have taken me 7 years to get the diagnosis and surgery I needed. I knew the exact illness I had before they did.
It takes someone ignorant to assume educated people can never make mistakes. Even for my degree, I'm aware clinicians can misdiagnose or mistreat clients, and I will always remember to treat mine as an equal, not as intellectually inferior or hysterical off the bat.
This lady's death was entirely avoidable, and it reflects a systemic problem in the world of medicine.
@@furosh118 i dont think the first doctor did a biopsy at all (thus what she meant by "cover up"). even if it was, she wasnt informed until she/second doctor asked for em. The scraping for pap smear isnt a scraping of the womb as a whole either. so even if it did loosen the cancer, it shouldnt have done so too much.
As she mentioned, it shouldnt have even gotten that far. Her cervix seems to have shown signs of abnormality that should have indicated the potential for cancer. But was ignored by the first doctor and assumed she just needed scraping. I dont know if she just didnt mention if they tried to do a biopsy then or any other tests, but i assume they didnt. Or didnt have to since a week later the cancer was already all over the place.
Two doctors at the hospital, they truly should have gone on further with me, these last few weeks... The PA I seen at the emergency in between these “ doctors “, he knew... they should have caught a lot, they haven’t. Especially when when cancer is high in my family, including two of my children. She is such my hero, I’m sharing her story with my gastroenterologist, he , and his staff have been so incredible. I can’t eat now, I’m starving feeling always. I’m also getting aloud of a holistic doctor. She’s absolutely does need, deserve an award above a noble prize.
I am extremely fortunate - my mum had Endometrial Cancer and her GP was really on the ball. He had her tested for a couple of weeks and within a month mum was in hospital having a radical hysterectomy. They caught it early and mum has been cancer free for the last 15 yrs. She didn't require any further treatment. She's now a healthy 86yr old
It is so rare for a Doctor to be so compassionate,she was truly blessed to have that one.....I heard years back that Doctors were taught to hold their feelings back with patients and not to be compassionate or caring in any way...just do their job as quickly in and out as possible.......and you as the patient CAN see and feel IF this Dr. Is a caring person or not for yourselves with the vibes you get from them....if not,it would pay to get another DR....

@@salvolondon Yes she was in her 70's. The specialist she saw said that she had 2 high risk contributing factors. Firstly she was on a type of HRT that is no longer used as there were side effects that weren't known at the time ( this was the early 1980's) and also she hadn't given birth - I'm adopted. Evidently this put her in a higher risk. Not sure if this is still the thinking but it certainly was when she was diagnosed. Also we're in Australia so thinking could be different for different countries. The main symptom for her was she started spotting every month.Technically she didn't go through menopause as she was on HRT very early on and never went through a so called natural menopause. So the spotting was a huge indicator something was wrong.
Salvo Smith my mother was diagnosed at the age of 71, never had any hormone therapy. The cancer returned after four years and she is undergoing chemotherapy and as it presented in her colon, she has an ileostomy.
At age 28 I had the same cancer. I had a normal menstrual cycle in June, and then a week later I started bleeding again. It did not stop until I had a hysterectomy at the end of November. My first doctor who treated me just didn't seem to take my complaints seriously. I was growing weaker by the day and he said I needed a DNC, which is the scraping of the uterus. I told him that I believed I had cancer and he laughed at me. He said he loved people who diagnosed themselves. I left his office that day and made an appointment with another doctor. I saw him the next week and he did biopsies. As soon as the results came in he called me and said the results were not good and scheduled me with the head of oncology at a hospital 50 miles from my home. He told me to pack a bag because I would not be coming home anytime soon. I saw the oncologist and he admitted me that day. I had to have blood transfusions before I could have surgery. I had two surgeries in three days and three weeks later I went home. I was so thankful for the second doctor for listening to me and acting quickly. He as well as the Oncologist saved my life. Please listen to this lady. This cancer is curable if caught before it spreads outside the uterus. You are your best advocate so get that second opinion.
Sandra Reading your story was so frightening when you said the first doctor wanted to do the uterine scraping. Thank goodness you got another opinion. The medical mistakes in this lady’s treatment were horrifying. Mistake after mistake after mistake. I’m sorry you had to go through what you did but thank goodness you got other opinions. Do you mind if I ask how long ago that was? I have to wonder if she might have been able to be saved if 1) they didn’t give her hormone replacement therapy, which was adding fuel to the fire, and 2) they didn’t do the uterine scraping which instantly spread the previously contained cancer around her entire body, and 3) the likely incorrect placement of the radiation beam. I know there were more mistakes that she discussed but there were so many that it’s hard to keep track. It’s atrocious that the first doctor laughed at you and sarcastically said he loved people who diagnosed themselves, if you listened to him your cancer would have spread. You didn’t attend medical school but you were right! I shudder to think how many people die unnecessarily because of doctor’s mistakes.
@VeganLife-mn1jp This was 41 years ago. I am just turned 69 years old in March. What happened to this lady is the reason I shared my story. We were both young to have this type of cancer, which is one reason our doctors didn't take it seriously. Usually, older women around menopause develop it. I was treated with hormone therapy by my first doctor. It only made it worse. The Oncologist told me that you never treat this cancer with hormones. He also said a DNC would have spread it throughout my body. This sweet lady didn't have to suffer and die like this. The more people who become aware of this type of cancer and the proper treatment, the more lives will be saved. Ladies need to know that it can happen to them at a young age, and if you are having prolonged problems with your menstrual cycle seek help. Ask questions and get second opinions.
Drs infuriate me. They’ve been telling me for over 20 years that everything is is my head. Now, in my 20’s I’m diagnosed with several chronic diseases and now I’m feeling worse and very very tired. Not sure what’s wrong now. Point is, I’ve experienced firsthand drs shrugging me off as a headcase, laughing at me when I’m concerned with what I might have. This poor woman, it breaks my heart. She was so strong.

Another gal had lung cancer as a non smoker and it took a second doctor to order an x-ray and CT scan to finally be diagnosed all the while precious time was ticking away. Oh and did you ever go back to the first doctor and shove it in his face? I would have.
@Mustang-bj5pe I didn't go back to the first doctor. My last visit with him was very stressful, and nothing I could say to him would have affected his attitude. Sometimes, you just have to be grateful for the second chance of life you have been given and move on. We lived in a fairly small town and word got around about the way he treated his patients. He moved his practicen after a couple years. I just prayed that he didn't harm anyone else.
Bernadette is missed so much. It so sad that our beautiful niece had to die before us. She would be 55 if still alive. She did so much in her life and still had more plans to do. God lover her. If only our lives had been different. 💕💕💕💖💖💖💖X

I expect someone did her make-up. She was an intelligent woman who tried to hold on as long as she could. I would have stopped that, long before she did. That is my view on these terminal conditions. They don't get better and since we do not have legal euthanasia, some of us have to endure the debilitation and misery that comes with the diagnosis. That is when we take the issue into our own hands. We always have that option and that choice. It will not come from the medical community. Just moving on.

In the State of Oregon,
physician assisted euthanasia was recently legalised.
It obviously took a lot of effort and energy for her to make this video, yet she bravely carried on until she made all her points.
It was obviously important for her to leave a warning and overview of her experience as a cautionary tale perhaps.
This evidently was her legacy.
I suspect she let go and transitioned shortly after this was finished.
Even though the cancer has made her so tiny and frail she is still very beautiful I could only imagine her
in her healthier years yet she is smiling through it all and trying to help others what an outstanding woman

My dear wife died in 2012 of ovarian cancer and I nursed her but watching her go over 8 months so I know what this lady is saying. I still cry buckets over losing someone so special.

Despite her losing so many weight, her natural beauty still shined through. She had so much life and willingness to live that it makes some of us that complain about things not going our way seem so small the fact that we are not having to worry about struggling to live.

Bernadette had so much to live for. She was forever coming up with different ideas. Thank you for your lovely words. I cannot believe it's almost 6 yrs in August since Bernadette died. She had a lot to put up with. She was always strong and positive. I am Bernadettes aunty her Mum was my sister, she tragically died 2003., and her dad died 4 mths before Bernadette. So how she could speak freely about her illness makes her having been very very brave. Missed so much.

OMG - just seeing this in 2019. When she ended her discussion she made me cry. She faced death with dignity, grace and bravery even though she was suffering tremendously.

The hospital staff usually have much MORE respect 4 patient that are high educated, & usually treat them better! So it is very strange that this poor woman was so bad treated 🤦♀️😔
That is absolutly crazy!!! No forgiveness for that doctor! There are so many ways of analysis that can detect cancer at early stage and none of that doctors did it!
A lot of drs just don’t pay enough attention. We know our bodies! And they need to listen more
It happens all the time. My wife went to the doctor for three years complaining of a swollen abdomen and gastric problems and on a scan they saw fluid in the abdomen but said it was nothing and gave her tablets to dry it up. She died two and half years ago from gallbladder cancer that had spread to her liver, bowel, lungs and other parts her body. She was a beautiful quiet lovely person that I will miss till the day I die. Not only did they end her life they wrecked mine to. Doctors and nurses like to put themselves on a pedestal that most don't deserve.

I worked as a gynecologist nurse for years. ANY abnormal bleeding in perimenopausal or menopausal should have an endometrial biopsy. Very simple and diagnosed easily. If one would be positive a total hysterectomy is cure in early stages. I've never heard of leaving the uterus there. (I live in America ) this cancer is very curable with early intervention. Such a shame... she is so dignified, bless her. RIP sweet lady.
Christine Miller please help me- my mom is 52 & had a 23mm lining w/cysts & super heavy bleeding so they did a d&c. Now this lady says that's the worst thing to do. Should she revisit someone else??
@@ellabistro8246 it's can be only possibly bad if it was cancer ? What was the diagnosis? They should have a pathology report showing if it was cancer. If it is benign...just may not need anything else done but follow ups.

I am going through a horrible situation and had very neglectful doctors. I suffer of excruciating pain was supposed to have surgery and the health professionals I was under care have failed me.
I was fine until the end. Seeing the tears in her eyes and knowing how she was suffering. She did everything right and only lived to be 51. :(
Unfortunately she did everything wrong. Way too wrong way too late. Always listen to your bodyvand your gut. When you feel tired for longer time, go to doctor. When you have growths in your womb, go to doctor, if he says its nothing go to another one. You have to take care of yourself, nobody else will☝☝☝

The doctors with whom she consulted (the earlier ones) are at fault here; they gave her the typical response and said that she had dysfunctional uterine bleeding and needed hormone-replacement therapy. The one who clearly felt the growths and then "scraped" her anyway should lose his license to practice medicine. She tried her best to get help, and being a doctor herself, she probably thought those gynecologists knew what they were doing. This just shows us that anyone - even doctors - can get caught in a web of medical negligence. Doctors need to truly listen to their patients, ask more questions, and stop giving "textbook" answers that are simple. But yes, you are right about listening to our bodies and if we feel that something is wrong, then we should continue to pursue it. However, it is difficult to continue to switch doctors, especially here in the U.S. Specialists like gynecologists usually have a waiting list of patients for three months, and then there are all the insurance issues.
I had endometrial cancer 2 years ago. It was caught fairly early. I am ok now. I owe it to this woman to live my life with kindness and fulfilment.

I am so angry at the fact they denied her a hysterectomy and that her doctor lacked the knowledge/skills to identify what was wrong with her. Her doctor caused her unnecessary pain and ultimately killed her.

I worked for a gynecologist for a few years and every Thursday we did hysteroscopies IN OUR OFFICE because this is something he felt very strongly about and so he invested in a scope. Yes it's not pleasant but it is very worth it. I don't know of any other doctors doing them in the office but you can still have it done in the hospital. It involves passing the scope through the cervix and having a good look at the inside of the uterus and vagina and is a quick procedure that will give you immediate answers. We diagnosed everything from cancer to fibroids etc and always did a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. But let me be clear, I am not a doctor and it has been a few years since I worked with him so there may be different procedures and tests that are new or more effective so please do your research and advocate for yourself or loved one if experiencing abnormal bleeding or experiencing symptoms that are new or different. I am mortified that this intelligent, caring and beautiful woman had to suffer and die such a painful, long death. Let's honor her by taking care of ourselves and loved ones and pass her story on to as many women possible. Hopefully she is in heaven content in the knowledge that she did her best to help her fellow woman in the midst of her horrible suffering. Let her see less and less woman joining her too soon.

It could be that the disease had already spread to where there was no medical benefit from removing the uterus. In other words, It was inoperable. If you remove some and keep some, there might be no benefit. The patient would have undergone a morbid surgery with tons of complications with no foreseen benefit to her condition. She would have undergone such a big procedure for no good reason. It would have been unwise to proceed with the surgery in such a case. If it had been possible to remove, I am quite sure no matter how lousy a doctor may be... they would have either done the surgery themselves, had it been possible, or would have referred the patient to someone else if they were not comfortable/inexperienced enough to do it.
That's not to say that mistakes don't happen and that some patients are mismanaged. I just wonder how much she really absorbed from all of what happened. Being diagnosed with such a terrible disease gets people thinking all sorts of things. They might think, what if Ihad donethis or done that, would ithave made a difference? They might blame the doctors, Or blame their family or even blame themselves. It is NOT an easy thing to come to terms with. Disease and death are terrible and sad.

RIP beautiful lady. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer 2 years ago. Doctors told me there was a 99% chance it was cancer before they even ran any tests. I was sent to a specialist and fortunately it turned out to be stage 4 endometriosis. I had a full hysterectomy. God bless this wonderful woman.

I had heavy bleeding, at around 48 years old, I went to my gynaecologist, who, fortunately took it seriously, and did biopsies.... Pre cancerous cells were diagnosed, and I was was very fortunate to have an amazing gynaecologist, who, offered a total hysterectomy before they turned to cancer !!!!! My heart breaks for this beautiful lady....

It doesn't seem to make sense to leave a known cancer in place, especially for an organ that's not essential. Yet I know studies show that sometimes, removing a primary tumor can cause micro-metastases to bloom (unless no micro-metastases had spread yet)

There are many good thing about doctors clearly but that out of the way,medical error is a leading cause of death here in America. I had an accident but did not injure my head.Frankly, had I done so I might now be dead. It is too long a story ( 4 surgeries) but caught errors all along the way Egregious ones in some cases. I had a lot of pain but refused narcotics etc.which they tried to push daily. Big pharma is aggressive here. I even refused a surgery which I know might be hard to believe but ended up saving portions of my leg by doing. The two things I would recommend is to STAY AWAKE if you can or try and have an advocate at all times if you are ever hospitalized.

Speaking from someone who lost their mother/best friend to breast cancer because of a doctor's error; doctors are not gods. They are HUMAN. They make mistakes just like anybody else. We've all made mistakes at a job at least once in our life if not more. We ask doctors to be more than human and they just can't be. It took me 4 years to stop blaming the doctor and put the blame where it surely belonged; the cancer.

He said I have lots of small polyps and he didn’t get them all; he’s sent what he got to be biopsied. It would have been Bernadette's 52nd Birthday today. I have sent birthday messages to Bernadette every year since I have known her in 2009 but for the past few years she has not responded. I had thought her work has kept her too busy. Today I thought I may have emailed her to an inactive email of hers so I searched her name only to find out this sad sad news... This world has lost once of it's best woman but at least Heaven has gained another Angel. I and my family are deeply saddened. Bernadette helped me through a very difficult period and I cannot thank her enough.... I'm an endometrial cancer survivor, stage 1A, Grade 2. I told my OB/GYN 3 months before I was officially diagnosed that I had cancer and she told me I was nuts till after a D & C confirmed the cancer. When I told her this it was also a month before my post menopausal bleeding began. I knew because I was starting to get PMS symptoms such as pains in my abdomen, moodiness, crying etc. I was getting the symptoms that I use to get when I was having periods and since I stopped my periods 2 years before this new PMS I knew something was not right a whole month before the irregular bleeding started.
I have been cancer free (Thank God) since my surgery 1/12/2011. May this woman RIP and may any woman who feels anything weird, please see your doctor ASAP. God Bless everyone.

@@lisaeischens2352 I am not the OP, but I can tell you what happened with me, a month after diagnosis I had my uterus and ovaries removed by robotic surgery, I was in the hospital for only one night, the surgery and the aftermath were not painful (I did come home with pain relievers but they were only necessary for a few days,) full recovery took about 6 weeks, and then I felt fine.

I am 36 and just found out I have Endometrial Cancer. I had PCOS since 23 and had hormonal problems since. Did the birth control patch, IUD, pills and hormone pills. My period has never been normal. If I'm lucky I get 4 a year. A few days ago I was gushing blood, making puddles on the floor. I though maybe I had a misarrange. I went into see the OBGYN and did a biopsy, pap and ultrasound. Biopsy and pap confirm I have cancer and ultrasound confirm tumor. I am here to learn more about this cancer living in my body. I am SCARED.

Always, always get a second opinion. I had a young locum tell me that I was eating too much curry when I presented with a sore throat that had been occurring for six weeks. Unbelievable. I went to another doctor as I was not happy with this diagnosis. I was sent for blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy and was diagnosed with acute myeloma leukaemia (AML). I am now 8 years in remission. If I had listened to that young inexperienced locum, I would have been dead now for nearly 9 years.

It’s so sweet that she did this for us women. She has so much love for everyone it’s amazing. I know from watching my son in hospice that he was so weak he couldn’t speak unless he saved up all his strength and then he could barely be heard above a very soft whisper and it tired him out so quickly that it was very frustrating for him. I know this must have been a big struggle but she was so motivated to help other women out there and I’m very thankful for what she has done, but also very sorry she had to suffer.

A moving account, of misdiagnosis, incompetence, and just sheer unprofessionalism, on a disease that could have so easily been spotted at an earlier stage, and with the right treatment, might well have saved this very brave lady's life. If there is one thing I've taken from this is never to go against my own instincts if I feel my health concerns are not getting taken seriously enough, and that doctors are not gods, that never make mistakes or miss something that is staring them in the face. My profound gratitude to the memory of this very gracious and caring woman.

As soon as I began to watch her tell her story I felt this overwhelming feeling of empathy towards her and started to cry in silence, thinking that life is not fair, that women like her shouldnt have to suffer so much pain... Wherever Bernadette is at the moment, I really hope she is very happy!

I have to think anyone who would “thumbs down” this video is well intentioned but simply doesn’t understand social media and how likes work. To new people it could feel strange and counterintuitive to give a big ol cheerful like to a woman dying of cancer. I have to think they are doing it to empathize with this woman in that way one might say I’m so sorry this is terrible - and validate that her situation is horrific. But yes they shouldn’t do it. Hopefully these people figure it out. Prayers for this beautiful brave woman.

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2018 and I had waited awhile before going to the Dr and am very lucky it was diagnosed correctly, had surgery and radiation and doing well, I wish this sweet lady had been diagnosed correctly, so scary.

Brave, so very brave. So emotional to watch because she was a beautiful intelligent woman who was terribly misdiagnosed . Heartbreaking because doctors failed to do their job properly. She has taught us a lot in this video. I bet she has saved many lives because she was so brave to do this. Hope the doctors who misdiagnosed her are watching this and see what they have done, they destroyed a life of a gentle caring intelligent beautiful lady.

Bernadettes father was my cousin..we were brought up together ..we lost touch with each other when they went to live in France then I saw this video ..heartbreaking I had no idea ..even though she was so ill she still looked as beautiful to me ..she was the imagine of her mother an Irish beauty ..God bless you Bernadette and what a final gift you left us ..love Julie xx
This woman was a real warrior. I’m a nurse and a patient and I am so tired of all the physician incompetence with women’s medical health care. I hope she sued the living crap out of those doctors before she got sick and passed away. Just to get their attention. Sometimes the only thing that gets their attention is finances.

As I watch this video, I can tell you that her description of symptom(s) and how many doctors treat this is spot on. I was 39 years old, at a conference and just felt a gush. I reached down and my hand was covered in blood. I would never have gone to the doctor if a lady with cancer had not suggested that I get it checked out. The only thing that I had noticed prior to this was that my bleeding was "a little" different (clotted) since the birth of my son. I assumed a clot formed and that is what caused this hemorrhage/ blood to release all of a sudden. Sorry about being graphic but this was the only sign that I had.
I went to the OB GYN and they said I had a polyp. They did a scraping of the uterus and it came back negative. Then they wanted to remove the polyp and do a thermoablation of my uterus which I agreed too. From the beginning of this process to the end of it was about four months. Four months later they called me out of the blue and said that your biopsy that was sent in came back as a possible cancer and that they would have to send it to Washington DC. I was at Fort Carson in Colorado at the that time just about to move. Two weeks later they called me as I was literally leaving Fort Carson and told me they "thought" it was cancer. So now I was in the middle of my move and whatever it was was still there 4.5 months later. I finally had a hysterectomy and was diagnosed at my next duty station. I went back in to have my ovaries removed 2 weeks later.
Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma is definitely a silent killer. I was lucky that is was a low grade tumor (slow growing) and really just blessed to have found it at all. It is the rarest, of the rare and hard to diagnose.
Julin2rs. Thank God you where listened to. If Bernadettes wishes had been given about the fact she asked for a hysterectomy and the 2 who misdiagnosed her, she would I believe still be here. I am Bernadettes aunty her Mums sister. She told none of us her family r her very close friends. But my God it hurts real bad her not being here. I cried as I watched her, and wished she’s still around. She seems to be a very, very lovely woman. The world would have been much better had she been around. My hysterectomy is due in a couple of weeks. I am scared, but I will be thinking of Bernadette and everyone she left behind, especially you. My best wishes.

Religion is the mother lode of bad ideas, and the pain and suffering it has caused to countless millions of people since it was invented, is incalcuable. The sooner it is rconsigned to the dustbin of history, the better. Surely, humans are capable of higher ideals and morals, than anything that the primitive, baser instincts, of religions can offer.
This is exactly what happened to my sister. I advise all woman I met to get 2nd opinions and keep getting them until you are satisfied no stone is left unturned. Misdiagnosis the biggest killer of all
What an amazing woman. I could not stop watching and being furious that the fools in the medical prof that think they know it all were the cause of this remarkable gentle soul sad losing this battle. She will be dearly missed and the world is all the poorer for her not being with us. Such a shame in so many ways. God bless her. I will always share this lady's story as she wishes.

I was diagnosed with the same type of cancer the very same year Bernadette passed away. My journey with cancer resembles a lot to hers. I was misdiagnosed, I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about and it was until I cried hysterically that doctors paid more attention, I went to other practitioner and after a biopsy a I got my diagnosis and found an amazing oncologist who did my hysterectomy, because of some complications I almost died that day, but I got lucky! My cancer didn't spread and after 6 years I am here feeling like a million dollars. The recovery was hard, but I am still alive and watching her testimony made me cry for her, It is terrible when you are certain that something is not right with your body and you are being constantly dismiss. Her words made me remember that I am lucky to be here and that is all that matters. Rest in peace darling, you did amazing!

@@NYCbabyJes Thanks honey!! Of course I can share my symptoms. I always had bad periods always very painful, but they started to be longer and more abundant than usual (Usually they lasted 4 days tops, then they started to last 7 -9 days long and I changed from regular pads to night pads and they weren't enough). I also( just once but still) bleed in between periods, and one thing that I notice was that I was peeing more frequently. I discovered that the peeing thing is because the tumor pressed the bladder.
From the bottom of my heart I hope you just had a cyst or maybe myomas, it doesn't have to be cancer!!
What an amazing woman, willing to talk about her dying so other women can avoid the same fate. She was so strong, and despite a multitude of errors being made against her she wasn’t showing any signs of resentment or anger. It’s just a pity someone didn’t click on sooner, the NHS failed her and then private healthcare failed her too. Sleep well 💕
I’ve been complaining a lot about very very dumb things. After watching this I feel I’ve taken things for granted. Watching this made me realize how blessed we are just by having good health. This woman deserved to live a thousand lives. 💜

I hope that first male gynocologist she saw had his license taken away, AT THE VERY LEAST.
That's why medicine is called a "practice" -- they are practicing on us. There's no sure thing in medicine. Doctors are human and make mistakes.
I'm always deeply suspicious of male gynaecologists as a) what can they ever usefully know about women's gynaecological health and b) why would a man be interested in this subject. I feel the same about male midwives - this is not an area where men should practise IMO (retired nurse and survivor of ?endometrial cancer which I think is misdiagnosed and what I actually had was ovarian cancer
