On the other hand however, when you’re having fun and enjoying yourself or when you are involved with other things (not constantly waiting for something to happen) it feels like time passes quicker. For example a mother promises her child they’re going to get ice cream, but only once she finishes some work she has to do; if the child spends the entire time thinking about the ice cream and how longer he’s gonna have to wait, it feels like time is moving slower. However, if instead of constantly thinking and worrying about the ice cream, he goes and plays outside with his friends, before he notices, his mom will have finished her work and they can go get the ice cream (because he was having fun, time went by faster). At least this is what I understood from the text !!

Re: the meaning of the 'cryptic' pilot that Mr Bones had talked about, if you've ever heard the old adage of 'a watched kettle never boils' or others like it, it's that. If you want to get from the time you're at right now to a later time, it's going to mentally feel like the time is taking longer. The best way to make time pass faster is to get occupied with something else! This is why the slow parts of a work day feel like they take the longest, even if time does not change what speed it flows at.
Referring to what the producer said about concept of the pilot, I think she means it was talking about how when we are waiting for things to happen, time feels very slow, but when we do things while waiting for time to pass, time feels very fast; and this concept is taught to young children to teach them to busy themselves while passing the time so it doesn't feel like they're waiting forever.

i work in TV at a major production company and will say right now that no matter the company, unless the company is far defunct, it is incredibly taboo to share unreleased materials. when a production is made, the production companies involved normally have papers on papers of legal jargon to protect media like this from being leaked without the leaker being reprimanded. at 40:45 you say that he doesnt work at Nick anymore and sharing it shouldnt be a problem. far from it. I interned at paramount (a viacom company) a few years back and they were explicit that anything i saw was confidential until publicly released. we employees were shown that knuckles was going to be on Sonic 2 some time before the official reveal came out. by time the reveal trailer came out, i was already working somewhere else. by your logic, i couldve went and told people. but i want to have a career still lol so i didnt and nobody else did for the same reason. confidentiality is king in the entertainment world. since Nick produced this pilot, they own the rights to it. the johnny bravo pilot's rights are owned by the creator so you cant ask LMU for a copy. if someone leaked it, he could easily sue whoever was involved same way viacom can do for this pilot. so while i hope this eventually gets found, anybody who has a copy is not sharing it cus they legally cant
Maybe there’s something on the pilot they don’t want us seeing? Usually that’s the case with lost media pilots. The Johnny Bravo pilot will never be released because the creator doesn’t want us seeing it. There’s probably something or someone attached to this pilot that no one knows about that would make waves.
I have a theory about why people who have copies refuse to release it. If the theory about Viacom taking down your original video is correct, then it's possible they reached out to everyone that they knew had a copy and threatened to sue them if they leaked it. Very conspiratorial I know, but I would absolutely not put it past that company, especially if they indeed shut down your original video under the pretense of a fake death threat. Also, the pettiness of the Backyardigans wiki is very weird. My theory on that is that they wanna find the pilot themselves, rather than watch you and lostcast find it and get all the glory that comes with it. Super petty, but that strikes me as the only reason why they would withhold information or even send spies into your server

It sounds like the plot of the pilot is that they are waiting for something to start, and the kids are complaining about it taking forever. So an adult or someone says “Why don’t you do -blank- to pass the time?” Or something along those lines
A great lost media search for me is the search of finding the lost fix it Felix jr arcade cabinets produced by Disney back in 2012 that used to be in the defunct Disney quest. Not the fix it felixes that people made out of their own with using an inaccurate sticker kit Update: one of the cabinets has been found in an arcade in New York. But, the other units are still lost
I’m not sure if this helps but at the strong museum of play in Rochester New York there is one in the arcade cabinet room and I played it. I lost horribly.
I appriciate you guys looking into this kind of stuff, but contacting ex-employees who worked on it is risky. Even if they don't work for Nickelodian anymore, there could be NDAs in place that would dissuade them from giving out information, let alone a copy of the pilot. Even if there's no real legal threat, the treat of being blacklisted within the industry is high. The ones who are brave even to even respond to such requests are the outliers. I think the only real hope of finding it is if it's somehow around out there in public and just hasn't been discovered yet, but I highly doubt it.
Would these ex employees be in trouble since these materials and vhs are still consider confidential company material, viacom would come for them by stating them as stolen company property. These workers may not work there anymore, but those are still legally copyrights and owned by the company. They only way to release is for many of these exworkers to release ot anonymously and without telling anyone or the company permission, from the looks of it

This show is my childhood and has been a massive inside joke in my friend group which drew me to this search. the news of her passing has led me to speed up my want for a pablo tattoo. i originally was going to get it when we finally find me and my friends, but now seems like a good time.

Watching this from my perspective is kind of funny. I can see where you guys are coming from with, wanting to find the media, wanting to see it, and wanting to release it. Why can't you just get a hold of it and make it public? You don't see a downside and you've worked so hard. You guys aren't acting like you are entitled to it, but are disappointed/angry that you can't have it. As an adult that has worked places with sensitive information (more serious than just a pilot video of a series) I still understand where all these workers are coming from. With anywhere I've worked as a full time employee I've been given warning and signed papers as part of the contract for employment saying that releasing information would get me fired and sued, or possibly arrested. Talking about some things like remembered experiences is one thing but sharing that property that I'm sure these people don't feel like is their property, and that they aren't the ones to make the decision to share it, is scary. Scary either legally or ethically.

In the case of a lot of lost media, they usually end up being found entirely by accident or in the most unexpected way Let's remember that Clock Man was uploaded to TH-cam by the original company that made it MONTHS before the Lost Media Wiki found it, so I imagine Me and My Friends will be found in a similar, unexpected manner, and when people least expect it.
I just want to thank you so much for being in the lost media and TH-cam community for 15 years and god knows how long you have been into the lost media community for and for both of the communities you have been there for the ups and downs but you never quit and you inspired many TH-camrs and lost media searchers so just thank you so much from the bottom of my heart thank you!

My guess for the pilot is it originally had one of those, characters are bored doing nothing in their backyard during a summer day plots. Then, one of them has the idea to play pretend, and they end up having a good time. Based off of that weird explanation + what the show ended up being, that's my best guess at an actual plot.
There's something so distasteful about these lost media TH-camrs claiming an entire search is based around them. It's a community effort. The search doesn't end because your video was removed. And the search didn't start because you uploaded a video. You're severely downplaying the efforts of community members to publicize a search and to do their own digging
I agree, I was really looking forward to this video, but downplaying how much the community did and holding your own content on a higher level feels distasteful and wrong. I feel like this is happening more with his videos as of late too, please let the efforts of the community take the spotlight.

I remember first hearing about Me and My Friends back in June 2021… in the form of a FRICKIN CREEPYPASTA MADE ABOUT IT I did not know the search for it was still going on up til last year. And I didnt even know how chaotic is was. As someone who used to watch the Bakcyardigans a lot as a preschooler, I’m not sure if Me and My friends will ever get found, but if it is it would be a celebration for the entire lost media community.
Me and My Friends has to be one of, if not my favorite, piece of lost media, and i really enjoyed this documentary-ish video on the long search for this pilot! And as difficult as things currently seem, I still have my hopes :) Also, i was quite impressed by the editing on this one, Mr Bones did a great job. And dang I didn't even knew Jacine Burgess passed away, may she rest in peace. Oh and happy 15th anniversary! Quite crazy how much history this channel has :)
I can't find the words to truly express how I feel, but the Me and My Friends search is the epitome of everything I HATE about lost media as a nonspecific interest and conducting mass-public searches. Whether the death threat was real or not, the amount of poor behavior, egomaniacal behavior, and bumbling mediocrity around this whole this is just sickening. Just do better ffs.
And without viacom or any other ex workers( producer) finding out, even if it means not telling others for permission to release (have them anonymous with the pilot reveal to avoid legal binding to a lawsuit)
Backyardigans turns 20 years old this year. I get the impression if Nick has anything at all they will post clips same with the Nick digital animation and didicate it to Janice. Reason I say this they did that for the Blues Clues pilot when it was 20-25 so I have a feeling that if Nick has anything we may see something than. Referring to what the producer said about concept of the pilot, I think she means it was talking about how when we are waiting for things to happen, time feels very slow, but when we do things while waiting for time to pass, time feels very fast; and this concept is taught to young children to teach them to busy themselves while passing the time so it doesn't feel like they're waiting forever.

However, I am noticing a handful of people are saying the video is quiet. I agree! There are a few things I'm noticing with the video overall that could have looked better. Though, I'm still proud of how the final product came out. This was a year long project in the making, so I'm glad you all enjoyed!

i work in TV at a major production company and will say right now that no matter the company, unless the company is far defunct, it is incredibly taboo to share unreleased materials. when a production is made, the production companies involved normally have papers on papers of legal jargon to protect media like this from being leaked without the leaker being reprimanded. at 40:45 you say that he doesnt work at Nick anymore and sharing it shouldnt be a problem. far from it. I interned at paramount (a viacom company) a few years back and they were explicit that anything i saw was confidential until publicly released. we employees were shown that knuckles was going to be on Sonic 2 some time before the official reveal came out. by time the reveal trailer came out, i was already working somewhere else. by your logic, i couldve went and told people. but i want to have a career still lol so i didnt and nobody else did for the same reason. confidentiality is king in the entertainment world. since Nick produced this pilot, they own the rights to it. the johnny bravo pilot's rights are owned by the creator so you cant ask LMU for a copy. if someone leaked it, he could easily sue whoever was involved same way viacom can do for this pilot. so while i hope this eventually gets found, anybody who has a copy is not sharing it cus they legally cant

Maybe there’s something on the pilot they don’t want us seeing? Usually that’s the case with lost media pilots. The Johnny Bravo pilot will never be released because the creator doesn’t want us seeing it. There’s probably something or someone attached to this pilot that no one knows about that would make waves.

I have a theory about why people who have copies refuse to release it. If the theory about Viacom taking down your original video is correct, then it's possible they reached out to everyone that they knew had a copy and threatened to sue them if they leaked it. Very conspiratorial I know, but I would absolutely not put it past that company, especially if they indeed shut down your original video under the pretense of a fake death threat. Also, the pettiness of the Backyardigans wiki is very weird. My theory on that is that they wanna find the pilot themselves, rather than watch you and lostcast find it and get all the glory that comes with it. Super petty, but that strikes me as the only reason why they would withhold information or even send spies into your server
I agree. Viacom is notorious for being super overprotective over their stuff. They're not going to just let the pilot be public.

It sounds like the plot of the pilot is that they are waiting for something to start, and the kids are complaining about it taking forever. So an adult or someone says “Why don’t you do -blank- to pass the time?” Or something along those lines
A great lost media search for me is the search of finding the lost fix it Felix jr arcade cabinets produced by Disney back in 2012 that used to be in the defunct Disney quest. Not the fix it felixes that people made out of their own with using an inaccurate sticker kit
Update: one of the cabinets has been found in an arcade in New York. But, the other units are still lost
I’m not sure if this helps but at the strong museum of play in Rochester New York there is one in the arcade cabinet room and I played it. I lost horribly.

I appriciate you guys looking into this kind of stuff, but contacting ex-employees who worked on it is risky. Even if they don't work for Nickelodian anymore, there could be NDAs in place that would dissuade them from giving out information, let alone a copy of the pilot. Even if there's no real legal threat, the treat of being blacklisted within the industry is high. The ones who are brave even to even respond to such requests are the outliers. I think the only real hope of finding it is if it's somehow around out there in public and just hasn't been discovered yet, but I highly doubt it.
Would these ex employees be in trouble since these materials and vhs are still consider confidential company material, viacom would come for them by stating them as stolen company property. These workers may not work there anymore, but those are still legally copyrights and owned by the company. They only way to release is for many of these exworkers to release ot anonymously and without telling anyone or the company permission, from the looks of it

This show is my childhood and has been a massive inside joke in my friend group which drew me to this search. the news of her passing has led me to speed up my want for a pablo tattoo. i originally was going to get it when we finally find me and my friends, but now seems like a good time.

Watching this from my perspective is kind of funny. I can see where you guys are coming from with, wanting to find the media, wanting to see it, and wanting to release it. Why can't you just get a hold of it and make it public? You don't see a downside and you've worked so hard. You guys aren't acting like you are entitled to it, but are disappointed/angry that you can't have it. As an adult that has worked places with sensitive information (more serious than just a pilot video of a series) I still understand where all these workers are coming from. With anywhere I've worked as a full time employee I've been given warning and signed papers as part of the contract for employment saying that releasing information would get me fired and sued, or possibly arrested. Talking about some things like remembered experiences is one thing but sharing that property that I'm sure these people don't feel like is their property, and that they aren't the ones to make the decision to share it, is scary. Scary either legally or ethically.

In the case of a lot of lost media, they usually end up being found entirely by accident or in the most unexpected way Let's remember that Clock Man was uploaded to TH-cam by the original company that made it MONTHS before the Lost Media Wiki found it, so I imagine Me and My Friends will be found in a similar, unexpected manner, and when people least expect it.
I just want to thank you so much for being in the lost media and TH-cam community for 15 years and god knows how long you have been into the lost media community for and for both of the communities you have been there for the ups and downs but you never quit and you inspired many TH-camrs and lost media searchers so just thank you so much from the bottom of my heart thank you!

My guess for the pilot is it originally had one of those, characters are bored doing nothing in their backyard during a summer day plots. Then, one of them has the idea to play pretend, and they end up having a good time. Based off of that weird explanation + what the show ended up being, that's my best guess at an actual plot.

It's a community effort. The search doesn't end because your video was removed. And the search didn't start because you uploaded a video. You're severely downplaying the efforts of community members to publicize a search and to do their own digging
I agree, I was really looking forward to this video, but downplaying how much the community did and holding your own content on a higher level feels distasteful and wrong.
I feel like this is happening more with his videos as of late too, please let the efforts of the community take the spotlight.

I did not know the search for it was still going on up til last year. And I didnt even know how chaotic is was. As someone who used to watch the Bakcyardigans a lot as a preschooler, I’m not sure if Me and My friends will ever get found, but if it is it would be a celebration for the entire lost media community.

I can't find the words to truly express how I feel, but the Me and My Friends search is the epitome of everything I HATE about lost media as a nonspecific interest and conducting mass-public searches. Whether the death threat was real or not, the amount of poor behavior, egomaniacal behavior, and bumbling mediocrity around this whole this is just sickening. Just do better ffs.

Backyardigans turns 20 years old this year. I get the impression if Nick has anything at all they will post clips same with the Nick digital animation and didicate it to Janice. Reason I say this they did that for the Blues Clues pilot when it was 20-25 so I have a feeling that if Nick has anything we may see something than. Thank you Janice for bringing these characters into our lives. Rip.
