One piece of lost media that's continuing to be recovered is the canceled DreamWorks movie _Me and My Shadow_ ,which was in production since the early 2010s, but was canceled in the mid to late 2010s as a result of DreamWorks's declining box office returns, and old animation tests are still being found
@Freesmart To be fair, I liked some of his other animated movies like Cloudy with a Chance of meat and two balls, But Me and My Shadow definitely would have been great just for the impressive visuals alone.
@Freesmart A while ago I watched a YTP of the movie that was called _Cloudy with a Chance of meat (and two) balls_ and I've been calling it that ever since.
This may not technically be “lost media” as we usually think of it, but I recall as a kid one random day, Cartoon Network apparently got bugged out in some way and was stuck repeating the same Bugs Bunny short for hours on end. There was actually a caption ticker that was very apologetic about the issue and also joking on moments in the short itself that frequently changed, so I think it was being updated on the fly by some poor worker at CN. This would’ve been in the early 90’s when CN still mostly played content from WB’s vaults.
It was for sure a random day and not April 1? Because it seems like if it wasn't intentionally a joke they would've just pulled the whole channel off the air to put up a test pattern instead while they tried to fix whatever was wrong.
don't sleep on the original recordings of the soundtrack to It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown that were found this august! it's incredible that they just happened to be discovered over half a century later despite being from such a widely beloved piece of media. finally getting to hear all of those iconic tracks by themselves is like a dream come true
Wait, whaaat?!? I thought the reason there was no great pumpkin soundtrack was because they hadn't recorded the music separately from the voices/sound effects?
@@wesleypatterson2284 they were recorded separately, it's just that the original copies of the clean musical recordings weren't found for so long! a few years ago a lower quality version with the sound effects still in was found, which in and of itself was pretty huge given we had never even had that much in the way of an isolated soundtrack from it before, but still not ideal. the ones i'm talking about were vince guaraldi's original recordings of his sessions, so now we have most of those songs without any loss in quality or sound effects! there are even a few outtakes in there that weren't used in the show and have never been heard before, it's really neat
There’s something so heartwarming to me about Lost Media hunts…artists and engineers put a piece of themselves in these media and I am sure knowing that a community cares to find and preserve their obscure labor probably means a lot to many of them.
for real, I've always been so interested in lost media ever since I first heard of it back in 2015 I think?? BlameitonJorge was the one who sparked it. The KH pilot was a big one to me and so it being found made me soar. and the future? I hope more things get found!
These are just jobs for most of the people in the industry. Once theyre done with one thing, they move on to another. Things disappearing after their time is up is standard in media. You dont need to overthink things to paint a picture of sentiment. A lot of artists end up hating the product they make by the end of its life.
Glad to see the zombie bumpers found! The Fairly Odd Parents one terrified me as a kid and was my source of inspiration for how I draw zombies. I actually forgot where the design came from and I've been trying to figure it out for ten years. So happy to finally know!
I will forever thank the lost media community for finding Nicktoons Gets Zombified. One night in extremely early 2020 I randomly remembered the Mighty B one and assumed I could find it easily but couldn't. Then I discovered the lost media wiki and tried my best to describe what I remembered, though it confused with other things and mistook zombies for robots. This then sparked other people to make threads with actual correct information and I was so pumped, but yet again what I thought would be a simple find was what seemed almost impossible. We kept getting closer but never found anything so I took a break from the thread and the day I happen to check back in they were found. I can't explain how much emotion I felt like seriously y'all did an amazing job and ily
Zombified was the first and so far only Lost Media search I’ve been involved in, and man that was wild. I sorta became the search’s unofficial archivist, putting together a summary of the search once it hit page 10 on the forum, and compiling EVERYTHING up to that point in one Google Doc when it hit 20 pages. And now it’s kinda surreal to see my username and things I posted in an LSSQ video.
A small piece of lost media I want to find that led me down a rabbit hole was a segment of Sesame Street that my mom was in as a kid. I found out it was probably from Sesame Street Canada, and that and sesame park have 30 years or content completely unavailable other then three ish episodes. It could also be a backwards way of finding old Sesame Street segments, as they kept about half of them
You know speaking of the nicktoons zombie bumpers I actually remember another set of nick Halloween bumpers involving a green moon turning characters into monsters. I only bring it up because the SpongeBob one upset me as a kid not the scared kind of upset but instead just made me feel sad.
Holy shit, I recognize that same short! The Spongebob one was also a part of The Pilot, a DVD compilation comprising of Help Wanted, and countless shorts of the series, that includes the one you mentioned and the controversial The Long Summer(Fox News attacked the short though Nick confirmed that it taught young viewers about the dangers of global warming). I am sure there are other Nicktoons effected by this 'Green Moon'. Kinda reminds me of the Halloween special to Amphibia btw. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/F5BhWWrwi5g/w-d-xo.html
@@wesleypatterson2284 No, but close enough. I believe these Halloween shorts, comprising of Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Oddparents, Fanboy and Chum Chum and The Penguins of Madagascar(2009 TV Series) came out in mid October of 2010.
A video of those is on crudenood's channel titled nickelodeon Halloween shorts. I think it was a part of a different Halloween bumper series nick made later
I mentioned this in the OG video on the topic, but I vividly remember seeing the Fosters promo bumpers during a viewing of The Iron Giant on CN back when. I believe it was an all day event, showing the movie on repeat. If someone recorded the movie during one of these showings, they my have been able to get a hold of the bumpers.
I remember when CN did this but I'm sure they did that shtick a few other times like how channels will air A Christmas Story 24/7 on Christmas day. I dont have any recordings sadly but man that memory
I vaguely remember watching the bumpers (mostly the wilt and coco ones) but I remember them airing in the late afternoon early evening for me (I’m from the states)
I'll be honest. If I'd seen the zombie bumper as a kid, it might have scared the crap out of me. It's in that trashy 60fps flash animation style. That shits creepy.
I always liked watching Toon Heads late at night when I was a kid, so seeing these newly uncovered episodes pop up on TH-cam was really cool and nostalgic. Now I know how they got there, and why they were recommended to me!
Ive got a lost media memory that goes way back to my childhood memories in the mid to late 80s. My parents had recorded a nickelodeon show which I believe was called Musical Monsters. I cant find any info on it, however, it was a stage musical with puppets and elaborate large monster costumes. Oddly enough, they had the monsters dancing the mashed potato at one point, and the program ends with "Mashed Potatoes" being said by one of the monsters. But heres the interesting part... I believe the lead performer on this was someone like dave coilier or the host of another nick show. I was young and wouldnt remember it at all if not for my parents recording it off tv back then. Ive been looking for this for over 10 years now. I believe it is from 1988. Anyone remember this?
I can't believe those Foster's Home of Imaginery Friends commercials are lost media! I vividly remember the Coco one of Coco walking by, sitting down, standing up leaving an egg there, and then walking away. And then the camera zooms in on the poster with the egg. I never saw the Mac one though.
Speaking of trainwrecks, several pieces of Thomas and Friends lost media have been found this year as well actually. From alternative takes and bloopers of Season 5 and 10, to many leaked behind the scenes photos to lost footage from it’s sister show “Tugs” being found.
Very nice we found the missing F-Zero GP legend Dub Episodes 4, 5 and 9. Now people are looking for more dub episodes from New Zeland recordings or something.
I just started getting into lost media and that got me digging up a bunch of VHS tapes from 2002 - 2005 cartoon network and toonami. Would always record shows when I was at after school or went to friends house so I would have it for later.
This year for lost media FOR SURE was at its top, we got the Shrek lost media video, The Spongebob got milk commercial, and best for last, Episode 847 (AKA the Wicked Witch episode).
I can remember watching Toon Heads so vividly as a kid, almost like it were yesterday. Never would have guessed it’d become lost media, but incredibly happy a piece of my childhood has been rediscovered!
Hearing people recollect Toonheads is so interesting, it's like everyone watched it back in the day but completely forgot about it afterwards. Maybe that's why so few recordings were available before now.
@@LSuperSonicQ Yeah the head in the hay is what always stood out to me,so watching your videos literally took me back 20 plus years lol happy thanksgiving!
there can be no holier grail in lost media than finding something that nobody can prove existed, like unaired episodes of a show that everybody believed were only rumors. only thing crazier than that i can think of is a SECRET holy grail of lost media like the XBLA version Goldeneye 007.
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 i dont know what that is and looking it up brings up something from far too recent for it to be something to be considered lost.
@Arc Ray How do you not know what the Snyder Cut of Justice League is? Also it was atleast 6 years old and there was no guarantee it was even gonna get released
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 ioh so it is that. i never got the deal with that. saw the movie with a friend went "meh?" then i started hearing people complain to "release the Snyder cut" and then they released it after enough complaining i guess and then i heard the general reaction from the people who wanted it was "meh?" cuz it was the same film edited slightly differently. i dont remember the complaining time frame being that long, but i guess it was. i though it was like within 2 years of the original film releasing.
In an odd way, seeing decade long searches like the Spongebob Got Milk advertisement come to a happy ending gives me a lot of hope. Just hope in general.
One thing that wasn’t mentioned in this was a massive lost media find from July of 2022. Someone on youtube posted all of the original recorded footage from Thomas & Friends Season 5, which was upwards of 20 hours worth of footage filmed in 1998
There is this little PBS Kids bumper (or even two) that I've been trying to find that I think might be lost. They're both in the style of the "Gotta Be" bumper that featured kids and PBS cartoons in a montage with Desiree's "Gotta Be" playing in the background. One bumper plays the New Radicals' "You Get What You Give". Another, which I can only remember seeing around 04 was the same sort of bumper that played Stevie Knicks' "Every Day". More specifically, I remember Sagwa the Chinese Cat being featured in that bumper. Does anyone else recall these?
I don't remember that bumper, but thank you for the nostalgia trip that was rediscovering Sagwa! Total chills when I re-watched the opening, no idea why the show didnt seem to stay in my brain but I'm glad I got to find it again 😅
Oh snap! My co-host has been found! Fr that's good lol. This summer was a blast with the channel and it's awesome my old post finally is getting resolved. Here's to finding the rest. I was also informed of the UK stuff when the other video first went up.
Toon Heads is kinda crazy because I have an incredibly vague memory of it. I basically forgot about it until I saw visuals from your video. While watching, a memory clicked of Toon Heads where I remember the dried grass/straw around the wooden box. I have a vaguer memory that I think was a segment on Chuck Jones. The block featured him and talked about the work's he's done in cartoons since his name was so recognizable.
Toonheads is one of my earliest fondest TV memories. So nostalgic for me. I vividly remember the few or perhaps few too many times I would stay up late enough to catch Toonheads or ensuingly early adult swim. It was usually at a family members house during a holiday or something when us kids basically given free reign to do as we pleased and stay up late, whilst the adults got hammered and yelled with each other. Great memories.
A ton of episodes of Attack of the Show have also been found this year. The show was particularly hard to find since it aired 4 times a week for 8 years and I believe that G4 never released a complete collection of the show officially. The earlier episodes were highly sought after due to having Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds, as a guest host. It's always a pleasant surprise when these things pop up.
Way back in the day, my adoptive dad would record hours worth of shows and films on tv while working and the kids were at school because they had a cottage they all went to during the weekend and summers, but since the kids wanted some entertainment still, he'd have a crap load of tapes for everyone to choose from. Point here is, a goal one day is to get a hold of said tapes, because once I got adopted into the family, they had already moved and lived in the cottage, and many tapes already existed. However, I wanted to make my own memories and started recording everything. All the YTV, Family, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Disney DX and many other networks. I know if I ever get ahold of those tapes again, that it could shed a lot of light on many one time airings and lost medies of such. I remember bins upon bins of tapes, were talking close to 5,000 tapes of film and television from the 80s to around 2012 when I ran out of tapes and by that point I started getting more into other newer technologies which end up losing lots of content. But never the tapes. Probably no one would read this, but if you do, and maybe one day when many pieces of lost media start to come to view, you know who it came from! One day..
That's awesome you should definitely a have a look through when you get a chance, who knows what you'll find in there! But that does seem like a lot of media to go through 😅 so good luck! You might have some luck by reading through the wiki and sites to see if people have specific years/months for things, if your tapes are labelled with approximate dates then that would help you narrow down which ones to fo through. Anyway so cool you guys have all those tapes!!!
@dee8722 That would be a smart way to do it for sure, but all the tapes are blank, with zero indication of what is on them. I'm in contact with my folks again and trying to regain access to the tapes. Then it's just after of time of going through them. I can't wait, the nostalgia is going to be insane lol
@@shannongerbes I've tried starting a thread on the reddit page but it never went anywhere. The best way to search is to find old tape collectors but still there would be a bunch of stuff out there.
I mean all the way back to Gotch and Hackensmit there's lost media. Lost or incomplete recordings of all the territories' television. So on and so forth
Something I wish was found in its entirety is My Bedbugs. A majority of it has been found by me via live recordings and old DVD-Rs. Only 7 episodes are left completely lost!
@@taeko3508 A low budget kids show that used to be syndicated during the mid to late 2000’s with only one TV station somehow started airing it in 2016 up until January 1st of this year. Its reputation has been ruined thanks to the current rights owners taking it off the air and making the infamous Oogieloves film.
I couldn't believe when I saw the Wicked Witch of the West episode of Sesame Street was found, I thought it was impossible, that showed me you shouldn't give up trying to find anything you really want to find.
Glad that the Eduardo, and Wilt Foster's promotional videos were found! Now let's hope we can find the rest of the Coco one, as well as the Mac video! I thought the SpongeBob SquarePants chocolate milk commercial was a thing (still don't know for sure if I've ever seen it before when it was still on TV), and it's great to see it fully archived! I've definitely never heard of Mario Kart XXL before, but it definitely looks like a fun, and unique demo game, and I'm glad that somebody was able to get a hold of it (even if we may never found how they did so)! It is a real shame that the Kingdom Hearts cartoon pilot never got a chance to officially since Disney pulled the plug on it, but at least the creator was able to save all of the drawings of said pilot, and has allowed viewers, and fans to see them along with 11 minutes of voice lines (despite Disney's best attempts at trying to take down the videos, only for more to follow suit, and hopefully the fans can keep them going for many more years, if not possibly decades to come)! I am not be super into lost media dubs of movies, and TV shows, mainly due to me not really finding them that interesting, but also out of fear of them being massively butchered from their source material (unless if they're straight up adaptations like with Japan's Super Sentai into America's Power Rangers), however, I do know that there is an audience for it, and, as much I generally hate the Animax anime dubs, I wish the fans nothing but the best of luck to try, and hunt down as much of them as possible! I definitely remembered seeing those Nicktoons Halloween bumpers from around the early 2010's, and while I'll admit even today they are actually pretty terrifying, it's still cool that Nick wasn't shy of giving their viewers something to be scared of, and maybe someday, we'll find the rest of the disturbingly fun promos! That is so awesome that the majority of the Toon Heads materials were recovered! Here's hoping that the others will be found too in the future! I am so THRILLED that we've been able to find so many pieces of lost media this year, and here's hoping that next year, 2023, will be the year we'll find even more! :D Thanks once again, LSSQ, and everyone else involved!
I love it when lost media us found no matter how small the content is it how insignificant it might be to people. It meant alot to somebody... Enough for people to look for it.
Had no idea those foster promo bumpers were lost, I remember them pretty vividly compared to most (theyre really good imo). I think only the 4 main friends got commercials.
same, i dont remember Mac having one. not to mention he’s just a regular dude, not a cool and mysterious imaginary friend… i don’t believe he had a bumper dedicated to him
The toon heads section really made me happy talk about timing i was watching your older videos yesterday about this and to find all this i cant wait to look i dont remember much about toodheads mostly because i was a baby-little kid when it was out but i do remember how much i loved it
Great video as always! I've searched for a lost episode of pixar cars called "to protect and serve." It was said to be cancelled because the writer sadly passed away. But I've seen many screenshots online from a few sites. But I've been searching for a long time and I haven't uncovered a thing.
One interesting search category for me has become 'lost creators', especially after the recent videos by hbomberguy and Defunctland looking into the creation of the 'oof' sound effect (popularly used in Roblix) and Disney Channel four-note theme, respectively
Wow, those Zombie ones from Nick are actually pretty spooky, even as a 26 year old. I'm surprised I don't remember them! I was really hoping someone had found that DBZ episode of JBVO.
I actually saw when the SpongeBob 'Got Chocolate Milk?' commercial was first uploaded onto TH-cam, making it the first piece of lost media I got to witness first before the big name lost media members mentioned it's discovery
I was Mentioned on the VIdeo for FMAB for a Art Showcase submission and I was so Happy, also was Happy that the Animax Dub of FMAB was Found (only for 4 Episodes). Thank You, Yui Senpai
This is so awesome! People are keeping history alive by doing this, it doesnt matter that its video games or more recent tv shows at some point these things will be retro/vintage and peaks into what media and life was like in our era and its so awesome to see people come together to do this! Also I dont know how helpful I'd be in the searching for who may have the media or contacting people but I'm usually stuck in bed and would totally be up for being one of those people that just sits searching for/through & watching hours of the commercial compilation vids. I'm not sure how exactly to volunteer for that kind of help but I got really into reading the lost media wiki and researching different lost media a few years ago and it brought me so much joy learning about all these things I didnt know existed and seeing people working together to preserve media history so would love to be involved with the community even if I may not be much help 😅😊
Really late on this, but thanks SuperSonic and everyone for your comments on Toon Heads (I'm the user formally known as MonaSimpson and now known as Anita. "Chase" is also me)! Been subbed for SuperSonic for a while and never thought I'd ever be a part of his channel. I've always had a respect for the community and their findings, and I feel honored that my friends are I are now part of that history. If all goes well, maybe more will come. ;) If anyone has questions about the Toon Heads finds or anyone has any leads, please respond, I'm eager to talk. I also know a lot of the guys who used to post on Toon Zone with Looney Tunes stuff and still talk to them, so if any holes need to be filled, I'm open.
One last thing before I forget: if you should thank anyone for the Toon Heads finds, it's Jerico. He's the one really motivated to getting the Toon Heads search going, the group I made just ended up being the springboard for his search to go full steam ahead. It never was planned for us to do this, but one thing lead to another: I was the one who recorded the Elmer Fudd and Norm McCabe episodes and got those up. Which lead to the user formally known as Snowpeck to share his recordings, and that lead to another former TZ user sharing his recorded episodes. A friend helped me get that Norm episode up to snuff, and he got Hanna/Barbera up! Sometimes people can forget the story of the searches have their own stories, and I'm always happy to talk about that story if anyone wants to listen.
To everyone who talked about memories of Toon Heads and that our work got you thinking: thank you. Stories like yours, thinking back, is one reason why we did it. Toon Heads was a source of joy and happiness, and we wanted that happiness to spread. It didn't felt right, at least in my case, to just let my recordings sit on a shelf and gather dust forever.
Homage to this channel/lost media will be posted on my channel. My thing was always missing tracks and b sides from songs and finding ones that should’ve been commercial, this has awakened a passion for watching/finding this stuff. I never realized how unique the commercials/cartoon city were until CN changed.
What a heart-warming video! 💖 Thanks so much for the great overview of our search for the Got Milk? ad - my eyes went square watching so many Nickelodeon ad compilations 😂 I can confirm that as of today, none of the individuals I contacted who worked at Nickelodeon have been able to source another copy of the ad. There is one Post-Production Supervisor who worked on both Shanghaied and You Wish, who said he was going to ask someone at Nickelodeon if they still had a copy. It's been a bit over a month since I've had a response, so it may be a dead end, but at least the commercial's found! Will make sure to message if we get a copy in higher quality 🥰 Congratulations to everyone who engaged in these hunts and helped find these bits of lost media! You should all be so proud 💖
Wish the lost games for PlayStation 3, Don't Be Late, Aero-Cross, and Football Genius would be found and dumped online. So far, there's 10 owners of the first game, 1 for the second, and 3 for the third, but almost none of the owners are known. While Football was released on Xbox, it was seemingly cancelled on PS3, with the same being said for Aero. No information has ever come out for Don't Be Late, aside from it being a physical disc.
Watching this it makes me think of a ps 1 or 2 (i dont remember) game i tried researching. I cant remember the game, but i remember the plot. I tried my best searching it buy i cannot find it, i never heard of this game being talked of and my parents dont even remember me playing it even tho i have talked about it alot.
I really want a version of “the wire” with truly fixed audio/music, as I really think the short is a beautiful piece of art/animation, just with a very crunchy soundtrack, here’s hoping we get that with this new archive
I'm sitting right next to a cabinet of VHS tapes, should probably digitize them at some point and see if anything interesting pops up. Might be a 2023 project.
I’ll have to ask the list media forums if they know about the original commercial asking audiences whether they want to see invader zim or the fairly odd parents aired on Nickelodeon. A followup ad revealed that they would both air the same day. I remember being excited and unable to choose, as if I was actually being asked at the time ha
I remember one time when I was in elementary school, my teachers showed cartoons and other videos. I remember very little about this experience, but the scariest thing I remember, was one time, my teacher showed a song about a letter from the alphabet. I thought it was the letter k or the letter j. It was low quality, at least avi level, and the song was quite normal. What happened after horrified me. The song zoomed out on a theater screen, and there was applause. There appeared to be a massive puppet, about the size of Big Bird, but it wasn’t him. It cut to its face, and I saw it. It was a green dragon, much like Dudley the Dragon or somebody like him. Only it looked like a cheap knockoff or bootleg. He had some purple on his body, but I don’t know if it was on his ears. I couldn’t tell if he had teeth or not, but I still remember the eyes. The pupils were vertical slits, much like a cat’s, but the rest of the eyes were white. I remember seeing the dragon in three videos. In the third video, it was a watercolor animation, like a theme song of sorts. I was horrified, and one day, the dragon was left on the screen. I had to put on my backpack and walk out while looking down so I wouldn’t get scared. I didn’t bring cameras or look up the videos, and I forgot the name of the show the dragon was on. Like I said, it isn’t Dudley the Dragon or Eureeka’s Castle, because I remember the theme having something like “learning to read” in the lyrics. I still think about that dragon to this day. I don’t think West Hills Elementary School has those videos anymore. I know those videos exist. I know they are real. I see that dragon sometimes in my dreams. Please, if anyone else knows or at least remembers this show, I would be happy to know.
i remember foster's had promos about "building something behind the curtain" in latin america, i wasnt allowed to stay up late as a kid so could never see the actual reveal, but came to learn the premiere was the movie, the pilot movie, which they kept replaying so that was nice, but between cn city and all that, it stood out as different
While technically not lost per se, the Jumpstart MMO hasn't been the best recorded over the years. There's a lack of recordings of the Dreamworks trailers that were briefly inside the Movie House, some that may still be public access otherwise, while the MMO appears to fall apart. However, the MMOs it was attached to, like SuperSecret and its original, Eat My Dust, Magic+Mythies, and World of Madagascar (non-mobile) are now defunct. Lost without a warning they'd be removed. I fear the MMO getting the same fate, especially as compared to Toontown, Club Penguin, and FusionFall, there hasn't been any notable efforts at reviving or preserving it post-Avatar Change in 2015 or 2016.
As a motorsports fan, among the media I'm looking for are the English language versions of European Tractor Pulling that aired on Eurosport from 1995-1999.
I do actually have a small handful of ToonHeads episodes on a VHS tape, but unfortunately they're only in portions, not the whole episodes. I'll have to check at some point to see if there's any in there that people are looking for.
I'm always interested in anything ToonHeads even if they are partial clips. If you could please reach out to me I'd love to talk about these episodes and maybe help transfer them.
One of them is this chapter from "Mujer casos de la vida real": "Esperame en el cielo" was found recently and published by Unicable, I'm sure they have other lost episodes from that show... geez half of them are lost, and when they're found they get retired from youtube, most of these episodes are from 1985 to 2002, the rest from 2002 to 2007 are not lost
You know what commercial I’ve had the hardest time finding? I wanna say it was a nick online commercial made after the crane episode of spongebob (2004-2006) bc the clip of squidward and spongebob saying “yeah” back in forth was in it. I’m pissed that’s all I remember bc that clip lives in my head rent free bc of it.
Praying for hitogata to be confirmed to exist next year because I love that case so much and it was the entire reason I got into lost media Hitogata news is all I want next year
Okay LSuperSonicQ. I got something for you to look into here. during or after one of the mid 2000's Nicktoon's Film Festivals, it cut to this like, looping animation of a bunch of tentacles from a giant squid tearing up birds and eating it. Blood and all. On Nicktoon's Network. If you ask me, I think it was just a stock video to show when nothing is airing. It was actually in the Nicktoon's Network style of brown paper and ink as well. I vividly remember this because my sister's girl scout troop was over for a sleep over and they all got creeped out by it and made my dad who was absolutely MESMERIZED by whatever spectacle was going on before us change the channel to regular Nickelodeon. I of course cannot prove this is real. YOUR MOVE, LSUPERSONICQ.
I remember a commercial from a long time ago, where it took place in a school at first, then it transforms to a swamp where a boy trying to open his locker, which transforms into an aligator or a crocodile, and is stuck there with his hands on its mouth. There was also a similar one with a dinosaur.
@@maycee2636 its an old screamer video from 2007 that used the "L is real 2401" hoax as a bait, it stars off as a guide on how to unlock luigi in SM64 but at the end the video cuts to the K-Fee comercial screamer
I think about that topic every now and then, it seems like something that will show up when we least expect it. Though of course with how many recreations and fakes have been made, its authenticity will have to be checked by the creator.
Even though this piece of lost media is unrelated to film or video gaming in any way, I will still do my best to describe it in this comment. As you may know, Scratch is a programming language for children developed at MIT since early 2003. However, due to the fact that the first full version was released after over 4 years of development, it made sense that many pre-release versions would be lost, as no one would care enough to archive them, especially since 90% of these versions were only available through very exclusive beta testing programs conducted at MIT. In 2014, several early developers of Scratch were contacted, and 6 pre-release builds of the program dating from February of 2004 to July of 2006 were found. Unfortunately, it seemed unlikely we would get any more. However, in early September of this year, 6 prototypes of Scratch's even more obscure predecessor, LogoBlocks, were uncovered, dating from April 1995 to September 2001. These were discovered by contacting one of the only developers of the program, who happened to have kept many versions on old hard drives. These finds spurred the search for early versions of Scratch, and after stumbling across an old developer's website, over 100 versions, dating from December of 2003 to June of 2009, were uncovered on the website, and, by contacting said developer, we were able to get a version from October of 2003. Many screenshots, PDFs, and sample projects were also found later this year. As of now, the Scratch archive consists of over a gigabyte of data, although each individual build is only a few megabytes large.

One piece of lost media that's continuing to be recovered is the canceled DreamWorks movie _Me and My Shadow_ ,which was in production since the early 2010s, but was canceled in the mid to late 2010s as a result of DreamWorks's declining box office returns, and old animation tests are still being found
The one piece...
@@renji4619 IS REAL!!!
@Freesmart To be fair, I liked some of his other animated movies like Cloudy with a Chance of meat and two balls, But Me and My Shadow definitely would have been great just for the impressive visuals alone.
@Freesmart depends on your gender/ the weather I assume?
Interesting
Love this memory, wonder if it was a global or regional thing?
hope this gets found because it sounds pretty funny
That's hilarious, I hope someone finds it too
It was for sure a random day and not April 1?
BRO when i found out about that, i was SO HAPPY!!!! i got it on vinyl!!!!
@@JTBPercussion i'm so glad they released it on vinyl! i definitely would've gotten one if i actually had a way to play it lol

There’s something so heartwarming to me about Lost Media hunts…artists and engineers put a piece of themselves in these media and I am sure knowing that a community cares to find and preserve their obscure labor probably means a lot to many of them.
L flag el salvador better
for real, I've always been so interested in lost media ever since I first heard of it back in 2015 I think?? BlameitonJorge was the one who sparked it. The KH pilot was a big one to me and so it being found made me soar. and the future? I hope more things get found!
Don’t listen to 2002, keep rocking that flag.

So happy to finally know!
thats nice
Also weird because it was done during a time where recording stuff and putting it online was easier and commercials weren't as forgotten
Epic job archiving everything :)

A small piece of lost media I want to find that led me down a rabbit hole was a segment of Sesame Street that my mom was in as a kid. I found out it was probably from Sesame Street Canada, and that and sesame park have 30 years or content completely unavailable other then three ish episodes. It could also be a backwards way of finding old Sesame Street segments, as they kept about half of them
Did your mom give you any other information about the episode that could help you to track it specifically down?
Here's the link:
th-cam.com/video/F5BhWWrwi5g/w-d-xo.html
Could you be talking about the Faily Odd Parents and Jimmy Newtron Halloween episodes? They both featured the charracters turning into monsters

The Saban Moon pilot find was the highlight of my summer.

You could've mentioned that Snoopy Flying Ace XBLA game was found in mid 2022 and it's one of the greatest most underrated games of all time.
I need that
Huh? This was lost media? I had that game as a kid
I'll be honest. If I'd seen the zombie bumper as a kid, it might have scared the crap out of me.
It's in that trashy 60fps flash animation style. That shits creepy.
You can never find too much lost media. Always good when something is found, no matter how well known it is
Don't know if anyone said it yet, but the UK Eduardo promo was narrated by Jess Parnell using his Wakko Warner voice
I love the got milk Spongebob add, it looks like a bit from the actual show and is pretty funny
The zombie ones man..... Those fucking scared the shit out of me. I'm so happy to know it wasnt all just a fever dream.

I actually remember the Nicktoons Zombified bumpers from my childhood. This video just dug up those memories.
Maybe that's why so few recordings were available before now.

there can be no holier grail in lost media than finding something that nobody can prove existed, like unaired episodes of a show that everybody believed were only rumors.
only thing crazier than that i can think of is a SECRET holy grail of lost media like the XBLA version Goldeneye 007.

That sounds amazing. Hope others can recall. I’d love to see it.
I remember the "Gotta Be" one... but there weren't any cartoons in it, and it was just for PBS
@@linainverse9369 Hmm, that might be a bumper I have yet to see! Have a link to a vid, by chance?

Always makes me happy to see the little Fuji VHS at the end of your videos, as a Fujifilm employee.

This is something I'm interested in seeing more about
Way back in the day, my adoptive dad would record hours worth of shows and films on tv while working and the kids were at school because they had a cottage they all went to during the weekend and summers, but since the kids wanted some entertainment still, he'd have a crap load of tapes for everyone to choose from.

I can confirm that as of today, none of the individuals I contacted who worked at Nickelodeon have been able to source another copy of the ad. There is one Post-Production Supervisor who worked on both Shanghaied and You Wish, who said he was going to ask someone at Nickelodeon if they still had a copy.
How do y'all get scared of puppets?
@@ChangedMyNameFinally69 I was just a kid. I didn’t know any better, and that was the only puppet I was scared of
Maybe it was from Between the Lions, they had a dragon character, but he didn't have cat-like eyes
@UC1FeVYKlkTAUD6YkCqR6E8A Still no for me.
@@CJolieTV don’t think that was it
@LSuperSonicQ the spongebob got milk audio was restored by my after it's discovery I would love for you to check it out if you have the time.
8:16 If you're fast enough to catch it. I WANT that Pokeball Toaster. Nevermind the Pokemon PopTarts.
i remember foster's had promos about "building something behind the curtain" in latin america, i wasnt allowed to stay up late as a kid so could never see the actual reveal, but came to learn the premiere was the movie, the pilot movie, which they kept replaying so that was nice, but between cn city and all that, it stood out as different
I’d also still love a full set of Salute Your Shorts
Ayeee I’m on the Reddit post of the “who’s that” bumpers for fosters! I made it mom. Lol, I’m in the video. 😂
i know it may not have been as much of a hit in 2003, but !!!! the kingdom hearts show would be AMAZING and i’m so sad that we never got it :(
You know what commercial I’ve had the hardest time finding?
I wanna say it was a nick online commercial made after the crane episode of spongebob (2004-2006) bc the clip of squidward and spongebob saying “yeah” back in forth was in it. I’m pissed that’s all I remember bc that clip lives in my head rent free bc of it.
Praying for hitogata to be confirmed to exist next year because I love that case so much and it was the entire reason I got into lost media
Hitogata news is all I want next year
Okay LSuperSonicQ.
Cool, found media
I wonder when we'll find the Super Mario 64 Big Star Secret
it's unlikely...but there is hope :P
I haven’t heard of this! Can you explain? :)
I'm really happy the Spongebob got milk ad was found! 😊
