You can buy a brand new one in 2021. Hard to believe my dad is in his 80's and Bonneville's still look almost exactly the same as they did in the 60's, (and probably before that). Still have the same 90 degree vertical twin cylinder. Also, "pea shooter" pipes and straight across handlebars that you have to take off and throw away the day after you buy it==th-cam.com/video/v0f2tRHSx1s/w-d-xo.html
I went out and bought a triumph loved it . I'm watching it again and thinking about getting another one. I have a 66 in my garage that I'm rebuilding again. My Harleys are for long trips. Can't look at movies with motorcycles in them gets me stupid.

Steve McQueen was also the German bike rider that leads the convoy chasing Hilts. While Hilts hiding on the side of barn pointing his pistol with German uniform. Bud EKins did the motorbike jump….The magic of film editing.
6.29 love to the bike what a legend
Boy I do you love motorcycles!
Fun fact: The German officer was telling Steve McQueen's character, 'Hey buddy. I wasn't talking to you. Hurry up and get going.'
You got it wrong, sunshine. The german soldier said: "Your sis is available for a bonk tonight but she's fat and hideous".

He actually says ''Show me your identification'' or something similar.
Before all of the technology that we have now -- I used to watch this movie (in re-runs of course) just to see the motorcycle chase scene.
Same bubba. My buddies and I were around 10 or 12 when this came out and we spent our allowances for something like 10 weeks
in a row to watch this movie mostly to watch the chase, and the chase mostly to see the jump.
I can remember watching this film at Christmas with all 6 my family I was about ten, my older brother had a triumph 650 Saint he was quick to point out the engine was a triumph he was my childhood hero sadly taken like McQueen by stomach cancer at the same age .
M W: So sorry.
@Frank Kelly: Right ! The jump ! What a memorable scene.
-- and playing pitch and catch against the wall with the baseball. I just never forgot those 2 scenes.

The man loved to ride...check out an old clip of him on a Elsinore...

I remember watching this scene vividly when I was a child.
I saw this scene some time ago, and I remember that time he made it!
Modern movies don't give you those long shots.
Absolutely bad ass!
Cinematic perfection
