Congratulations. At the time of writing this comment, I'm 35 and I found out in February that I have a brain tumor. I've been going through treatment and fighting my absolute hardest. At first I was told the tumor was malignant and couldn't be beaten. I was told that without treatment I had about 13 months at most before it took my life; and with treatment I had 2-3 years at most. Then 2 weeks before I finished my first round of chemo, and completed radiation treatment (4 weeks), I was told by my doctors that somehow my tumor had shrunk exponentially. As a result, they predicted that I have 5-10 years worst case scenario, and best case scenario they believe that I can win this fight and beat this tumor. Creed has been my favorite band ever since the first time I heard Higher in '99 or 2000. And their music has helped me through some on my hardest times; just like how it continues to help me push forward right now and never give up.
My husband just got told that the tumors in his lungs are no longer showing signs of growth and actually have shrank. Congratulations!! Cancer is no easy battle. My prayers and thoughts are with anyone affected by that monster! And if you’re reading this and you’re currently fighting that battle, just know you’re not alone and someone you don’t even know is in your corner. Nobody should ever have to go through that alone.
This song means so much to me. As a kid creed was one of my dads favorite bands and when this song came on we’d always jam out. Last year he died in a semi truck crash. Whenever this song comes on it always reminds me of him and the meaning of this song is so much deeper now.

I remember when I was 10 years old and I made friends with this older kid, Joseph Fisher and we met one day when he and his brother, Michael were passing football and I was passing football to myself until I saw them. I then went inside and told my dad and he recommended that I invite them over, little did I know that this would become almost routine for the next two years. Me, Joe and Mike established a great friendship and I remember we used to throw little parties on my house's front porch and we would take food and some drinks and just listen to music for hours, sometimes until midnight. But one particular night, he showed me this song and I loved it, became one of my favorites, now I'm in 8th grade and I just came across this song on accident and I just thought to myself "Joe." I was speechless, all I could think about is when he moved two years ago, God only knows what he's been doing. Stay safe bro, maybe if you get as lucky as me, you'll find this comment like I found you guys
+Eric Sampson Damn bro that whole paragraph was deep and made me think about something similar too, what amazing journeys we have in our lifetime right? I hope joe and his brother are doing good, do you have them in contact? facebook? phone number. It will be great for you to get in contact with them!
Can't quite believe this was 22 years ago, time has flown very quickly. When you get older it does that to you. Anyway, what a song this has been for me over the years, and I'm sure for you as well. We all have memories to share about this track, I'm in my early 40s now, so I was naive and young when this came out originally. Wherever you are or whatever age you belong to, let's appreciate this iconic song, it's needed now more than ever.
Creed is no longer a band. Scott Stapp(singer) and Mark Tremonti(Guitarist) had "creative differences" but, I just assume it has to do with Scott Stapp's addiction to drugs supported by the fact that he was essentially penniless in 2014. Tremonti is still heavily focused on his solo stuff and Alter Bridge(Check them out) so, he isn't planning on reuniting with Stapp to resurrect Creed in the near future. Evidently they haven't even been close friends for a while now.
Leland Harris i think they tried reuniting around 2014 or 2013. Dont know what happened but im pretty sure loke what you said its scott drug addiction. He posted how people are after him and other delusions.
My brother and I loved Creed - especially this song. I lost my brother in June 2019, but he is always with me in the music that we shared and loved together. 'I just want to say hello again.'

i love creed and nickelback also, i think it is because of their unnatural voice?
I feel the same way! Creed Nickleback and Puddle of Mud killer bans
Nickleback is considered a sell out because they would take any deal offered, and creed got labeled a Christian rock band due to the lyrics and message for most of their songs even tho they argued they weren't plus the lead singer had substance problems which always impacts a reputation and legacy but it didn't stop them from being one of the top 10 selling artists of the 2000s
One of the most meaningful bands back then. Seems like every lyric had an intent. Astounding as I get older.

underrated song which is brilliant! deserves more credit!
I love the way so many of their songs start with Mark playing some mellow licks based on the main chord progression, it's like a little meditation. In general his phenomenal guitar work has always defined the band and helped to make them more distinctive musically, IMHO.

Man, this takes me back to fall/winter 2001. We were just recovering from 9/11... I was 14 years old and just kinda finding myself. I liked Creed, then in my 20s they were “lame”, and now here I am 20 years later at almost 34, reliving my youth through old songs and rocking out. Hope the neighbors don’t mind.

At 40 i beat cancer, i am 46 right now and this has always been one of my favorite songs
Congrats my friend! I pray that the rest of your life remains healthy and cancer free.
❤

It is. Creed is the best band to ever exist, regardless of what smart people think. Wait...what did I say?
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER MADE
Creed got so many hit songs, i'm amazed how this band isnt that famous anymore....why/??
Creed is no longer a band. Scott Stapp(singer) and Mark Tremonti(Guitarist) had "creative differences" but, I just assume it has to do with Scott Stapp's addiction to drugs supported by the fact that he was essentially penniless in 2014. Tremonti is still heavily focused on his solo stuff and Alter Bridge(Check them out) so, he isn't planning on reuniting with Stapp to resurrect Creed in the near future. Evidently they haven't even been close friends for a while now.
:(

Leland Harris i think they tried reuniting around 2014 or 2013. Dont know what happened but im pretty sure loke what you said its scott drug addiction. He posted how people are after him and other delusions.
