This song and video perfectly defines that moment we`ve all experienced from time to time in our lives, even if some of us dont like to admit it. I usually feel like this whenever im out at a party or a bar somewhere, surrounded by people I know, and there`s that one girl who you`ve been talking to alot lately and have had ur eye on for quite a while now,...and she ends up hooking up with somebody else. It leaves you bloody and battered and bitterly pissed off with the world, especially when u look around and see everybody else having such a great time. It makes you feel so alone in a life that is so unfair, so you end up leaving early that night, alone, to go clear ur head and lick ur wounds. As painful as it is, its a good, but hard lesson, that gives credence to the fable "what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger". But just like Avril says in the song, it would be nice, if only for once, somebody would just come along and take us by the hand

I still love Avril's music, but I DO like her first two albums the most + Goodbye Lullaby. Basically all the records where her vocals shine and when she does the pop-rock/punk thing. I like the bubblegum songs too, but I feel like she's too deep and versatile for that. She can do whatever the f she wants, but I think she shines the most when she performs great meaningful songs like this one.

Hi Avril. I'm Lance Smith. I told you this a couple years ago..... this song really messed me up and hurts me. I have a large wealthy family and they all have there own house. When I needed them most they made me sleep outside in the cold. So one evening I found myself in a field next to the railroad tracks trying to sleep under a tree. I just warm enough to remain happily half asleep. As night fell a cold rain fell on me and I was so sad I couldn't move. I cried all night with this song running through my head.
