I told my best friend something similar to what Pink said in this clip.
I had seen Whitney Houston's Super Bowl national anthem, her pitch-perfect voice ringing like a gorgeous bell, my TV connected through my amp & Klipschorn speakers, & I *thought* I'd never hear its equal...an absolute, declarative vocal performance masterclass.
Chris Stapleton's rendition stands co-equal, for the raw, aching emotional strength, every shaded note recalling trials and tribulations, growing pains and wounds of 250+ years of our American history.
No other performers I can recall even come close. Ray Charles' and Carrie Underwood's versions were not inconsiderable, but Whitney Houston and Chris Stapleton are very literally in a class all their own.

I'm sure, but unfortunately the one time I got to see him live, the lovely Morgane was about to have their twins so she wasn't joining him on stage at that point. Show still was GREAT but I missed her beautiful voice with his. Hopefully someday.
So true! Look at him during the performace with Stevie Wonder! He clearly just feels very "lucky" to be there and seems to take it as " enjoy it while it lasts" when he so belongs to be on any stage right next to any artist
I met Pink and her husband at a resort in California, both of them were extremely humble as well. Pink was very cool, politely shook my hand and I remember saying something stupid like don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you are here, like other people wouldn’t recognize her. But she was so cool.

Ricky has said, on many occasions, that Whitney sang into a dead mike on the field, which nobody could hear because it wasn’t turned on, and that they played the pre-recorded studio version over the stadium speakers, which is what everyone heard. So technically, she was lip synching. Ricky’s words, not mine. There’s this thing called Google that you might want to look into before the next time you choose to speak from your rectum. 😊

It's rare (as far as I've experienced) to see a celebrity/star/world famous person who is ridiculously as talented as Pink be as generously complimentary and uplifting and vocal, I guess is what I'm getting at, when talking about other artists. In interviews when she's asked about other songs or artists she goes almost FanGirl. She so often uses Her Moment (to chat up herself) to promote artists she admires ~ could be a colleague with multiple Grammys or an unknown with 2 TikTok followers, singing in her bathroom. And when the convo turns back to herself, her humility comes out and she downplays herself rather than having a pi$$ing contest with another artist, even that unknown she talked about 2 minutes ago The only other celeb I know of who also does this is Miranda Lambert. I think it's beautiful and admirable and even if I wasn't a fan of their voices/songs/genres, I'd listen and support them as a fan of their characters. Pink is 360° of OUTSTANDING in my book.
Well. It's nice to hear somebody like Pink say something so complementary about an individual like Chris Stapleton. Don't forget Chris used to be the singer for the Bluegrass band The Steeldrivers. Who themselves, are absolutely top shelf quality. Chris has grown and developed as an artist A LOT since he has decided to go solo and to have somebody, who is a completely different type of music to which that of what Chris usually sings is very uplifting and inspiring. Thank you Pink. You are a hell of a lot better person than what I would first give you credit for.

They both are insanely humble!! When she said that, I was thinking, Pot meet Kettle.. I can’t remember the tour that she essentially did as a sort of documentary, but watching how she is with all of the people working with her, and the way she is with her fans. I can only imagine how difficult it may be to get swarmed at every turn by fans when trying to do something as simple as getting lunch, but she handles it with so much more grace and class than the majority of big performers
