electrolyser is VERY good, if feed to to an hydrogen regenerator it's self powered, and you can safely sieve excess germy water from toilets into oxygen. That is way better than watering plants with warm fecal water, or bothering cooling and degerming. Same for using the steam vent, you can feed the hot water to the electrolyser, it's easier to cool the oxygen going in the base than the water.
Although I wish I could see you play this game blind, I have to admit I’m learning some stuff. I didn’t know the type of material changed how well insulating material worked and I had no idea carbon dioxide helped preserve food.
I really enjoy this game but I can never get past the mid-game (and want to learn by doing, not by wiki). Also, gotta admit, I tend to have the most fun in the early game for all games like this.
What helped me conquer the mid-game was early start Drecko farming for lots of reed fiber and plastic. So I could stick with normal petroleum refinement using the refinery and no custom built boiler. I also used the huge amounts of pulluted water available on the map to grow 10 arbor trees for ethanol refinement. It got me tons of power and fuel for my 2nd generation of rockets.
For my first rockets I used hot regolith to steam up the water. Hatch ranching for food and a self powered eloctrolyzer setup with an aquatuner for cooling the O2 got me a stable base to focus on industrialisation.
In the first episode, you talked about how you liked the game because it got so many things correct.
In this episode, we're using an electric grill to pickle lice.

Hey Pravus, I started to play ONI becose of your series back in 3 or 4 years ago, and i havent stopped to play since, so let me give you a couple of hints:
- You can build diagonally, without to risk to collapsing the roof. So that hot water sealing above your polluted water tank, you would able to do without any extra digging (and risking the dupes to cook themselfs) from above.
- Germs are not that cruitial to deal with anymore. Especially the Slimelungs were frightetning back in the alpha / beta and it was an endgoal to deal with those, now it's significant is quite low, you can have medicine against it, there are worlds which you can choose, where you start the game with a lot of slimelung in the air, and it is the most unrelevant thing there :)
- Pickled meal lice -1 moral, the raw is better, and now you can store it properly in your fridge. It means that the artist is more important than the cook.
- If you dont want to waste material you shouln't do art until the dupe skill is up to 3.
- Animal handling is more important then the gardening, at least at the begining, the meal (BBQ) should be a "highend" basic food which you can cook, and you can automatize the slaughtering of the surplus animals easely.
- You've declined an oxyfern seed. I was cried because of that. One of the best plants in the game especially in the early game, and it's really random to get in your starting world and it's no way to get seeds it's not multiply itself. Oxyfern > Algae Terrarium > Electrolyzer . Wiki: Domesticated Oxyferns convert about 98% of Water to Oxygen, which is still 10% more water-efficient than Electrolyzer (88% Water to Oxygen), with the additional cost of 4 kg per cycle Dirt
- Your world have frozen core, start to dig down and you'll get a lot of ice ;-) I like the geothermic core more, since there is a lot of power there which you can have from the lava.
Pravus subtly takes a note on how naive (and gullible) the dups are, in an apparent reference to them not knowing Pravus will lead them to their horrible horrible demises.

2:37 if you use 3 the peunamatic (prob butchered it) doors next to each other, lock them and use auto dispensers at the first and third door pointing towards the middle you have inf storage without the hassle and the doors block the décor debuff
20:36 coal is great but I highly recommend getting automation and smart batteries because coal generators consume a lot of coal and your base won’t always need the power the generator produces
FYI Compost is pretty useless. Polluted dirt isn't that big an issue. And the reason I say compost is useless is that it turns polluted dirt into dirt yes, but it does not get rid of the germs, and your dupes will use that dirt on your mealwood and thus get that food all germy because they used the dirt that was not clean from the compost that only is more a headache than an actual solution for anything. If you really need the dirt. Look for Arbor trees and pips have the pips eat the trees they poop dirt problem solved :) Hope this helps and I am really enjoying this series and look forward to how this progresses.

In the midgame stuff will start to slow down though and progress will feel scarce but i suppose it's fine
Man.... I recently watched your Surviving Mars Beyond and Below max difficulty run, and i thought to myself... "Hm, what if he started playing Oxygen not included..." And you actually did start it recently. I just LOVE your survival gameplays. My favorites are Surviving Mars, Oxygen nit included, and the Plague inc evolved series. You really know what you're doing.
Have you considered playing Don't Starve? It's a survival game from the same creator as Oxygen not included.
Bathing time will have them auto sanitize everything

Germs are easier to control than you let it. First - seperate your dupes into multiple shifts, slightly set apart in hours - so when its break time for 1/3 of them, they can all use sinks/toilets. (if you make 3 shifts, 1/3 in each shift, divide your dupes by 3 and thats how many sinks/toilets you need so they can all use them at the same time, typically 2 of each is good for 6 dupes this way) Next - dont worry about food poisoning EXCEPT before they eat. Food, Tables, and anything they touch on the way (ladders, etc) needs to be cleaned, it is when they ingest food that Food PSN germs are a problem, otherwise it does basically nothing even if they bathe in food poisoning.
You can also mop up some polluted water inside regular water - if the volume of polluted water is small enough to 'mop' up. It's a strange thing, but works to keep things nice and clean.
Also - DIRT can have food poisoning on it, which your Researcher will commonly touch to resupply with. So that is probably how Alpha kept getting germy.
Even Slimelung is no longer as dangerous, it was really nerfed down - unless playing on specifically harder settings (where even a tiny germ problem turns everyone deathly sick, which you didn'tenable at the start of the game, so your just on "normal")

The burrito food poisoning is an example of a basic design tip of ensuring access to water has a raised lip so if somebody does get sick like that, you have a barrier if anything drips down your ladders

When deakubg wuth hot biomes nearby, I recommend building a hollow walls abd pzno out all gas between them. There´s nothing as insulating as a near vacuum ;)

11:40 quick tip, if you go to the Materials Overlay button, there you can see which air space is carbon, polluted oxy, oxy, hydrogen, and other gases.

Good to see a new series on ONI, just a thought with polluted water reservoir, if you make the bathrooms near the entrance/exit, the dupes can wash their hands as exiting it. Germs are not a huge concern with the new version as I watch other series but I hate spreading them on my games. I feel the normal maps are huge compared with the spaced out versions & I struggle to excavate them more diggers & suit wearers are better to explore quickly to get the volcanos needed. I also use uranium ore as metal doors at the bottom of food/inf storage as it slowly cleans any germs in contact with it.
pravus you need to take those tablets! those things will be a huge help if you have dupes getting sick!

I recommend you use the gas overlay mod. It changes the gas overlay to see how pressurized every gas is with colors, rather than the more useless whether or not its breathable
By the way, he mainly plays Hearts of Iron 4 and sometimes Crusader Kings 3.

Stop pause two seconds later continue start talking pause stop hit continue two seconds later pause to start talking.
