I'm really liking this watch so far. My previous watch was the GA-150. Very similar watch but the new features I'm liking are the stopwatch from home screen, being able to move hands out of the way. and the easy toggle between world time and current time for the analog watch hands. I find the LED is bright enough to use as a quick flashlight when it's dark. Saves me having to whip my phone out to use the touch for quick things. From the images online before I got it, I was a bit worried I wouldn't like the hand design on the GA-700 as I really liked the simplicity of the GA-150 hands. but it hasn't bothered me at all since having it and wearing it on my wrist. It's super easy to glance and tell the time quickly. One thing that is lacking from my old GA-150 is the auto light on with wrist lift. Although I never really used it, it was more a novelty to show off to my friends. I've never been in a situation where I'd need to tell the time in the dark and not been able to just use my other hand to press the illuminator button. So I'm happy to lose that feature if it meant keeping the price down.
I like the clean wide face dial of that model but I never had actually owned one yet. It is to me a very underrated model even though it already has all that quick access to those functions as well like all these new release G-Shock. The auto light is indeed impressive to have especially for that purpose :D

I just bought this in adrenaline red and the watch look beautiful and tough during the day but the led light is useless you can’t read the time when you press the button disappointing but as a day watch it’s a really good looking watch!
Caleb B I know how to read analogs time dumbass it’s the red hands against the red background I own and like the watch but weather you like it or not it’s impossible to see EITHER time at night don’t get butt hurt it’s just a Watch now I wear and like it but the adrenaline red fails the night time test!

Does it have time swapping from world time mode? I mean that does pressing two buttons make the world time mode time zone your new home time and your home time your new world time more?

Then you need to perform the 'H.Set'. Manually set the hands back to match the digital time display. Make sure the DST & all the time setting is already correct and you are at 'home time' not at 'world time' mode. Do the 'hand retraction' again and if the problem remains, send to get it fixed. It should be free under warranty.
I notice on this watch, the labeling (Mode, Start, Adjust, Reset) is clearly visible and readable in white. On my GA700se 1A2, the labeling is black, making it very difficult (if not impossible) to read. Why is that?
Long press the light button. The light is on and when is off release the button and now the auto light is activated you need to turn the handle in the direction as if you are going to see the time and the light turns on automatically
+Pranav Chhajed If the watch had been used or beaten up, the placement of the module might had dislocated. Open up the back plate, remove the module and then re-insert it back into place. The button shaft might had bent as well and result in this same issue. Try to push the button in and after module had been remove to check if it is where it should be. Perform all this at your own risk. If problem still occurring better send then for repair. The 1 year warranty for these fellas should still be available I believe.

The one I got already comes in the way it is. All you need to do is place a polarized film on the display panel after you disassembled the whole watch which is really hard if you don't know what you're doing. I never seen anyone perform that yet on a GA700 series yet. Probably since this model is still very new.

Tough competition. But both of them comes with a different price point hence all the advantages of ga400 over a ga700. They're both lightweight and has quick access to functions. If money aren't an issue, a GA-400 is better. Just try not to be annoyed by its magenta orange backlight though :p
Sorry, I can't fully understand your question. If what you meant is me finding model number aka reference number of a watch then it is located at the backplate. For a whole full reference number, I just remember them. I hope I'm answering the question.

The watch will saved the last worldtime you left it at. You can't technically save it and go back to it after browsing other world time each time you press 'start'. You can try to quick scroll by press and hold the 'start' button to save some time at least
This model was released back in 2011 at 18,900yen about 155 euros. There is a way to change the film inside the display panel but I never tried to perform that customization before. Can't help much on that I guess. :/
How the hell am I supposed to know city? I live in Bellevue, Washington. The closest I can think of is LAX, which would be the airport in LA, which would have my time zone. Is this correct thinking?
The analog hands was built to match with the digital time automatically. But you could manually ‘misaligned’ them at ‘H.Set’ mode. Move the hands forward/backward for how many minutes you’d like away from 12 o’clock index. That should do it.

You could set that using 'reset' button at home time. Press it once to change from date display or digital time display.

That is called ‘SIG’ = ‘signal’. You could turn it off at the alarm mode.

At Home Time - Press (just once) the upper right button to swap between time display or day-date display. Press upper left for city display.

It is an hourly chime or hourly alarm. Reminder an hour had passed. Good way to keep track of time when you're too focus on something.

You can switch between Home time and World time in WT mode by just long press Reset button.
Ordered this in the camo version but I'm gutted the light isn't orange and there is no auto light function
