@@Runge_was_hereI didn’t see it I think. I had it the other day at a tequila bar and it is one of my new favorites. Edit: I checked his time stamps on the video and he did not.
I actually make my own Grenadine at home following a recipe Anders posted on his channel a bit back. It's delicious. Especially following his recipe for a Shrunken Skull. It's a great recipe to play around with mixing rums. To complicate it my current go to is to use 1 oz. Hamilton's 86, 1/4 oz. Hamilton's 151, 3/4 oz. Planatation OFTD, and a bar spoon float of Rum Fire.
Queen's park hotel super cocktail is one of my favourite cocktails (I must admit I occasionally make it with whatever aged rum I have on hand 😅)! Will have to try the scofflaw this weekend, great video.
Lovely crossover between yours and Anders channel... 😁 love you both equally 😜 and some nice new recipes for tonight out on the patio in my garden.🍹🥃 BBQ is already set up as well 🥩
Great video! Been loving the Mexican firing squad, good drink to make for people. Also, another reason to use fresh ice in the glass is because it’s “dry” and not wet and slippery like the ice in the shaker that’s already started melting. The drink would dilute too fast and maybe run out of ice because wet ice melts faster and it’s already smaller than fresh ice.
Hey Steve, thanks for posting this. I have a bottle of grenadine and have been trying to find some good cocktails since a couple of months. Looks like somehow you heard it😁. I am definitely looking forward to try the queens park this friday. I just have to try this with whatever rum I have but will try to get something specific for this if I get a chance. By the way, I do have a lot of experience with reusing ice from the shaker because I used to be always short on it. One thing I did experience is that it melted pretty quick.
Nah, why throw it out? It's a good time to free yourself to mess with it, see if you can balance it back out. I guarantee by the time you're done, you wont be worried about it anymore. (Because usually by then, you'll have mixed and tasted, and mixed and tasted so much, you'll have consumed 3 drinks worth! heh.)
Great list missing a gin drink(like the Pink lady). Used a lot of grenadine in Shirley Temples (1/2 oz grenadine, 1/2 oz lime juice, top with ginger beer) for teh mocktail and kids. A good balanced grenadine bring flavour without being cloyingly sweet. Funny you should mention the combo of flavours in the Queen's Park hotel, you should look up the classic Tortuga Tiki from Trader Vic.
Never had the Shrunken Skull until Anders released his grenadine. Its like a Pomegranate Daiquiri (over ice) and is absolutely delicious. I ordered a bottle of his grenadine immediately after making the cocktail with a "sub-standard" grenadine. I recommend grabbing one if you're not interested in making it yourself feom the recipe on his channel.
I learned about the Mexican Firing Squad thanks to you @StevetheBartender_ and I can’t thank you enough! I’m a huge sour fan and this is my new favorite drink 🇲🇽❤️ Thank you for always giving us amazing content and an even better smile ☺️
El Presidente is also a fine grenadine cocktail and more on the dry side. The grenadine flavor still comes through. Important to use a good blanc (not dry) vermouth.
Thanks for the great video. As much as I would like some of Anders' grenadine, the shipping from the US to the UK is £35 (about AU$69, US$45, or €42), which is twice as much as the price of one bottle! I do have some Monin grenadine and can get some pomegranate molasses to make my own, so I'll definitely be trying these cocktails.
I like those Portland Syrups, they make a nice Root Beer syrup. But anyway, you didn't make the El Presidente?? The best cocktail ever to use grenadine?
Damn some good looking drink I do love the story of the 12 mile limit of people taking boats to bigger boats for a drink. I need to try that last one I think that is the only one I haven't had
As for cleaning the jigger with the citrus I was always taught to use the 'cheaper' ingredients first, syrup, juice et. Liquor last...if you do screw up you're not wasting company booze...🤷♂️ Ooops, interjected before watching to the end...DOH!
Hey Steve, Is there a reason you have gone heavier on the grenadine in the scofflaw when compared to your old video on it? From what I can see, usually scofflaw doesn't take that amount.
If you mess up a modifier, couldn't you just double your base spirit, then pour half off and store it in the freezer for a couple of days? You hadn't added the acid yet.
Thanks Chris! Glad you enjoy the channel.. buying a single syrup from Portland to Australia is never going to be cheap unfortunately.. this was more so for the US viewers.
Hi Steve! You mentioned in your last video that you worked as a mobile bartender for events, have you ever released a video about that? Something I've been thinking about
@@mark5115 I underpriced myself in the early days.. worked my ass off.. but people loved the service. I’d do it completely different if I did it all again.
Depends on the bar.. a good cocktail bar would probably be familiar with the Scofflaw and the Mexican Firing Squad.. a tiki bar might be familiar with the Shrunken Skull.

@numanuma20 ah, ok. I'm thinking of the wrong video then. It's #7 on his 10 grenadine cocktails video from when he announced the new grenadine.
I like episodes with several cocktail using the same ingredient, especially liqueurs and herbal stuff that someone buys for one particular drink.
True!
Obviously your content is great, but the symmetry of your videos is so satisfying. Random, but yeah. You get an A+ for production.
That’s the first time ive been complimented for my symmetry… thank you 🙏 😅
You're very meticulous with everything you do. 1 million subs soon
That super cocktail is right up there with the Enzoni! Fabulous flavor reminds me of Christmas
The Queens Park Hotel Super Cocktail was FANTASTIC! I can see it becoming a new favorite. Thanks Steve!❤

That's alcohol abuse Steve 😂.. all of these are amazing and you did an excellent job mixing them. Great video sir.
Steve, do you have some cocktail receipts with caramel syrup? Thanks
great video, just in time to use my grenadine
I like those Portland Syrups, they make a nice Root Beer syrup. But anyway, you didn't make the El Presidente?? The best cocktail ever to use grenadine?
My favorite grenadine cocktail is a tie between a dirty Shirley and an azalea.
I find it helpful to pour the syrup first, then the liquor, liqueur and citrus to "rinse" the rest of the syrup
Damn some good looking drink I do love the story of the 12 mile limit of people taking boats to bigger boats for a drink. I need to try that last one I think that is the only one I haven't had
I didn’t do too much research into the background of these drinks to be honest… I just taste tested them and put them together! 😂
@StevetheBartender_ hey that is a lot of science in itself

Is there a reason you have gone heavier on the grenadine in the scofflaw when compared to your old video on it? From what I can see, usually scofflaw doesn't take that amount.
I wanted to try the “modern” specs which I stumbled across on Tuxedo No. 2 tuxedono2.com/scofflaw-cocktail-recipe
Just here to say you look a lot better lately
Thanks, lost 20kg so far
Instead of throwing away, just add 45ml Rum and make a double cocktail?
I already have 5 cocktails ready to go... 🤔
I agree with your wife on a fave!!
If you mess up a modifier, couldn't you just double your base spirit, then pour half off and store it in the freezer for a couple of days? You hadn't added the acid yet.
Yeah of course.. but I don’t drink all the cocktails as it is (not like I did in previous years).
I’d love to buy some of this as I love both of your channels, but 92AUD for shipping to Western Australia ain’t ideal!
Thanks Chris! Glad you enjoy the channel.. buying a single syrup from Portland to Australia is never going to be cheap unfortunately.. this was more so for the US viewers.

I believe it can be shipped worldwide 👍

Long Island tea
Try Roohafza you will forget all rose syrups
you don't have to dump the cocktail down the drain, you can discard into a separate glass for later ;)

When I make a mistake like that, I take it as the gods telling me I should double the recipe ;-)
Make sure you have a glass chilling ......twice 😅😅
Just reiterating 😂😂
Check out Anders Erickson’s recipe. Easy to make at home.
These are all made with his grenadine collab.
Surprised no Jack Rose...
I would have just made a double. One for now and one for later, or one for you and one for another. Waste not, want not. 🙂
I already had 5 cocktails ready…
If I asked for any of these at a bar, would the bartender know how to make them ?
Depends on the bar.. a good cocktail bar would probably be familiar with the Scofflaw and the Mexican Firing Squad.. a tiki bar might be familiar with the Shrunken Skull.
The mis-pour on the last cocktail.... you should've just made two cocktails and walked one over to your neighbor's house.
Neighbours don’t drink..
Nooo Steve don't throw away the booze! Just double down on all other ingredients and drink 2 cocktails instead!
