    Although I’ve given up trying to type myself, your descriptions of the different types is one of the most understandable that I’ve come across. Please do the body type clothing video. It will be fun to see how pretty you look in the different outfits. How’s Milo?

      I'm a soft natural, but in every test I did, I kept getting soft classic. I think it's very hard to type yourself. What helped for me was posting a photo (faceless) on a Kibbe Reddit group. It takes a while to really see. Now (few years later) I can type mostly everyone I see, but the beginning was haaaaard. But once it clicks, it really clicks.

    Yeah, I can’t figure this out because I don’t entirely fit into any of these categories. I’ll take this quiz linked, but every time I take a Kibbe quiz, I get a different result. More videos on this topic would be helpful since I really want to start dressing for my body type.

    Oh, my gosh. This was both helpful and confusing. I can tell you put a lot of work into this video and it's outstanding!! I love watching you...I will probably watch this again to try to figure out my type. At 5'2" and a little soft (thanks to the covid 19) I am not sure; some classic, some soft natural ( soft, fleshy arms 😔) I like your style/type and think I am more soft natural than classic.
    Off topic, your skin looks flawless and so beautiful.

    I took the online test twice and I always end up soft natural, although I am 178 cm tall. I don't know why. After watching your video and looking online, I understood that I am either a flamboyant natural or a soft dramatic.

Extremely helpful and will help me as I work through my weigh loss journey - keto and intermittent fasting - lost nearly 3 stone now which was actually the easiest ‘diet’ for me as a post menopausal woman in her late 50s. It is now my lifestyle not a diet and I am so much healthier! Can’t wait to shop for new clothes with this info in mind xx❤️👗

    I'm pretty sure I'm soft gamine, or possibly soft classic depending on the definition. My work wardrobe is more soft classic and my leisure wardrobe is soft gamine. I'm pretty happy with those parameters - like you said, you can learn a lot about your style and how to approach shopping from thinking about kibbe types.

I am glad to know I am probably a romantic but I will take the quiz to help me identify which type of western outfits are most flattering to me. I have “figured” it out but I want to be sure, as I just love wearing linen trousers and loose shirt-like tops. Wonder if it is a comfort thing or I like to hide behind the loose fit.

    13:47 based on that, Sarah Jessica Parker wouldn't classify as a flamboyant natural as she's short/petite. I guess this is what confuses me about these types. Are the height definitions strict? What if you find yourself almost equally in 3 - 4 categories. It's super confusing

    I've always wanted to do the Kibbe test, but I find it difficult to rely on photos of celebrities as body type references. Sara Jessica Parker is only 5'3" tall, but she appears so much taller in part because of her long face and legs. I don't see her as a Flamboyant Natural, (Brooke Shields is 6'.0). Her stylist is a magician!

    I can’t figure out if I’m a gamine or a soft gamine. I have a smaller waist and slightly bigger hips..that’s what makes me lean more towards soft. But I also don’t have a big bust. Hmmmm

    • @thehalfbloodserb
      @thehalfbloodserb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other things to consider maybe: eye shape (more rounded or almond), lip shape/fullness, cheek shape/fullness. If they are all rounded/soft then you're probably more a soft gamine, if they're more a mix of sharp and round, then gamine

    Based on your study, and personal experience, do you think one's type CHANGES with age or weight gains/losses? I am sure I was a Flamboyant Natural as a young woman, but I am in my late 60s now, and while far from overweight, I am still 5'10" but not 135 lbs anymore. I still gravitate to long verticals, oversize and bohemian lines, but wonder if I should be going in another direction. Did your type change with keto?

    • @baiyinadotcom
      @baiyinadotcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fabulous Video. I am 5'4 37 27 37 130 lbs. I have a round face with small nose and full lips. I have big legs with a 14 inch calf. My arms are fleshy. I tend to be soft when firm still soft. I look better with fitted clothing. I just recently bought several oversized dresses. I wear with a belt. Which is against how the dresses are supposed to look. I love the bohemian looks and the total classic looks but could never pull them off...my comfort level just shifts...to make a long story short I could never figure out why. Then I watched your video and promptly put the oversized dress and jacket back in the box and sending it back. Getting dressed is so aggravating. I don't wear shorts, sleeveless or a bathing suit. I look way better in a Marilyn type of dresses but I am not large busted. As soon as I lose weight the bust goes down 2 inches along with the waist and hips. Thank you for posting this. Sarah Jessica Parker is 5’3”. So, is she still considered a Flamboyant Natural with being so short?? It’s difficult to pin point which body type I truly am. Do you consider what weight you currently are, or should you go off your ideal weight for your height?? I found this extremely interesting. Thank you 😊

    • @thehalfbloodserb
      @thehalfbloodserb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Weight doesn't affect your body shape as the way you put on/lose weight depends on your body shape. As for the height, unless you are extremely short/tall, I think it is better to consider your vertical line (i.e. how tall you appear to look in a photo with a plain background). Typically this is the head size vs height ratio. If you have a big head for your height, you will look shorter even if you are taller (look at Rihanna as an example, this is why she is theatrical romantic despite being 5'7). Likewise if you have a small head for your height, you will look taller even if you are short (why Lucy Liu is a dramatic despite being 5'3)

    Your video does a great job of more diverse examples. I was doubtful cause a lot of their examples were very skinny white phenotypes (especially the nose types) but I landed on theatrical romantic. The aesthetic and recommended shapes were pretty accurate to what clothes already make me feel my best vs styles that make me feel dumpy. I think this confirmed why some pieces I have aren't working that I couldn't let go of because they're supposed to be essential (a hard straight cut denim levi jacket that I hate wearing and didn't know why). They should have more curvy/overweight picture examples to be more helpful and different ethnicities for the facial features but I feel like this was a great exercise.

    This was a great video and very informative. When I first did the Kibbe test I got soft classic, but now I've gotten so self conscious since asking other ppl and being told I have broad shoulders haha. Not sure my type anymore since symmetrical outfits look better on me than unconstructed (so I'm leaning more towards classic) but I honestly got so much more confused. I like the idea of checking out the clothes that I like best in my closet though to help narrow it down so I might try doing that!

    Yeah…first thought..isn’t SJP a teensy little girl??
    And then..where does a 5’9” solidly built but not chubby gal with small bone structure of Slavic background sort of fit this?? I’m not meaning to be a snot…but I sure ain’t fittin’ in with supermodels…and this list seems to focus on petite to short ladies….

      I recommend looking at Merriam Style's videos, she has a slightly different system now but a lot more intuitive I think (focusing on the overall vibe/look of the person, seeing how lines of different clothing silhouettes affect the body)

    I'm having such a hard time figuring out what I am. If I was shorter I would say theatrical romantic, but I'm 5'8". I have a smaller bone structure with small hands and feet for my height, small waist, small shoulders, but fleshy upper arms and thighs. I've always gained weight in my butt 😂. Maybe dramatic classic or soft natural?

  • @SpongySweet
    @SpongySweet 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I still don't know what I could be... I went from thinking I was a classic, to a soft dramatic, then a soft natural. I am 5'8'' , i have a hourglass shape but not extremely so. Quite large hips and bust, large shoulders, but again, not extremely so. My body has more yang elements it seems, cause my bones are big (big collar bones, big hands,big knees etc.) and I'm tall, but i also have somewhat of a curvy figure with my hourglass shape, and I am not super lean and athletic, especially my arms, they're quite fleshy. When it comes to my face instead, I can only see Yin, I have small round features, visible plump cheeks, small nose, full lips, little contrast between neck and jaw line, which is soft. Anyone have an idea where I could fit?

    • @nicolesmith4371

      At 5’8 you can narrow it down to D, SD, or FN because at that height you have automatic vertical

    • @thehalfbloodserb
      @thehalfbloodserb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like you might be between types. Generally classic/gamine types fit this because they are more in the middle of the spectrum (classic having lots of blended features, not too sharp, not too soft, not too tall, not too short etc) while gamines have a mixture of opposites (some sharp next to some soft, some long bones next to some short bones) so I'd recommend looking at these types first. It might also be best to first focus on what type you are definitely not/which clothes definitely don't suit you as guidance for which type you may be (dramatics are worst in romantic clothes and vice versa, classics are worst in natural, naturals are worst in gamine, and gamines are debatably worst in natural/romantic)

    • @thehalfbloodserb
      @thehalfbloodserb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also I recommend looking at some youtubers like aly art or merriam style for more guidance, aly art's is more by the book while merriam style's is more intuitive/easy to grasp imo
