Guys, I know the Si is more than just HP and motor. The suspension, brakes, center of gravity, (and so on) definitely make what an Si is. But I still think that Honda is slowly putting the Si to the side for the other models coming in.
They put it to the side when they introduced the 11th gen Si….they removed fog lights, adaptive dampers, heated seats, dual zone climate, engine temp gauge, fully digital center cluster, gave it less horsepower, and made it even more identical looking to the base civics. All while making it cost even more what a joke. People that are buying the 11th gen Si are suckers unless you are Canadian since you get all those features plus more. The 10th gen was the last actual Si in my opinion.
@brokentradgedy They also have the stop start feature on the 11th gen Si witch I don't think it should be in a sport sedan
@@yutosi2109 yep forgot about that too such a dumb thing to have. Also the whole “individual” mode that they introduced is the most useless feature of all. Oh wow you can have either “sport steering” with normal pedal acceleration or normal steering with “sport pedal acceleration” dumbest most useless thing ever
@brokentradgedy and it come back on automatically after you turn the car off. I think the 8th gen is the last honda I'll buy.
Well, u know... electricity is coming...
Si will always be sportier, manual, and have the LSD over all the base trims. Anyone who buys an Si for power is kidding themselves. They buy it for a fun manual experience. As far as the motor, 2025 Acura Integra A Spec Tech 6MT are coming with the same numbers stock on Acura listings.
I own an 08 Si, the Type R was not available in the US then. I still love my 08
Damn. Hydroplaned my 8th gen a few months ago. Miss that car. Ended up with an fl5
The Si has been in trouble since they did away with the K series 👀
You’re not wrong lol
You are soooo wrong!
@@Bbc418With a comment like that. And the Fact that the K Series was the best thing in a long time. And the 1.5 is built with trash components. I amongst others will wait for your so called educated comments that will support your soooo wrong Attitude.. Let’s go..
@@Bbc418 Bro the 1.5L is a shit engine. He's not wrong at all

@@BeastFromTheEast79 I wouldn’t know if there is a difference between there and here, all I know it’s hot, humid, huge insects, snakes, them god dam lizards and those annoying crabs that come out at night. I don’t mind the frogs though, they look funny hopping away.
Have a ‘23 si and she’s been nothing but good to me. My daily driver and it’s comfortable, handles great, and I get 32mpg.
Although I think that the K20C in the civic lineup would be unlikely, I think the future for not just the civic’s lineup but sports cars with hybrid powertrains is exciting. I’ll trust Honda to still make the same reliable product that they’ve always made, but I think at some point a decent amount of owners grow out of this stage of sport cars (when it comes to the si) and want something more. Still the best bang for your buck though.
Agree to a point. While the 25 civic has equal hp, its not a manual or a sporty handling car. If they boost the hp in the SI they can get ahead again but with them building so few Si even now, I wonder if they will invest any more $ into it or just kill it.
I have a 2024 si. The L15 is a good motor with a few mods and tune. Handles like it’s on rails. I remember when the 4B11T was a big question mark and I pushed that to 452whp for years. Not saying the L15ca is there but with time they’ll figure out a reliable 450 whp, may be a built motor but gen 10 built motors are able to handle big power.
I just got my 2024 si and love it for the same exact reason handling peppy
I got a 2024 Si as well!! My first Manual car I am LOVING IT so far
My 4B11T is at 500whp on 93, 550whp on e85. Stock bottom end with built head. Fantastic motor.
L15C's are prone to headgasket issues. You wouldn't believe how many the Honda Dealer tech friend of mine has done. Just because of the slits between cylinders causing issues. L15A and L15B blocks don't have those. Built L15B is more solid than a built L15C
Got me a 24 si also for the same reason, engine isn't the most powerful but it handles good. Also here where I live they don't want to bring in the sport in manual for some stupid reason.
The 11th gen Si actually only makes 200hp as well. So they have the same hp but the Si now has 40ft lbs less torque
All they have to do is put the old 2.0 turbo from the accord in it and call it a day
then no one would buy a type R, it wouldn't make any sense to
Nah they won’t. Let’s not even go there. Too much power for an Si in their eyes. If they develop another engine for the Si/Integra, which is the only thing they can do if they want to keep those models alive, it will be in the 200-225hp range. It would have to be a new engine it’s the only route. The 1.5t is getting discontinued for sure. If I had to create an engine. It would be a 1.8L K18t producing 215-225 HP. Still within emission compliance, better designed than the L15, and will also be in the ICE CRVs and Accords. Lower displacement engine. Or they develop a hybrid manual which will debut in the Prelude. They know and probably realized L15 has given them more problems than they hoped for.
@@pevant1314the 2.0 in the accords are a watered down version of the engine in the type R tho which would make since to put in the Si since the Si is kinda meant to be a watered down version of the type R anyways lol
The Si line up has been kinda dead. If they decide to kill it off, we'll our Si are going to up in value.
I’ve seen the 2020 + models hold value. 2017-2019 seen them pretty cheap
@@TdaKidinteresting… 2017+ Civic Si models around me in Arizona are still going for $21,000 + with like 70,000miles and more on em
@@HueyPNathan location probably? Here in California prices are all over the place
All 10th gen Si’s seem to be holding strong💪🏼 it is a Honda after all
@@TdaKidmy dad has a 19’ si coupe and the local dealer offered 22k. He ain’t selling it lol
Damn bro when I first saw the title I thought YOUR si was in trouble. I was worried. Hope your big turbo 10th gen is still going strong 💪
Everything is still very well with it lol
Same here I was like dammn
I have an fl5 type r and I agree with you... they really should just take that k20c4 and throw it in the si and give the people what they want... make an si that makes like 260+.
New civics are crap except for the Type R I love my 10th gen coupe!
As much as I love my 90's Honda's I have to say I'm somewhat glad. Maybe Honda needs to go back to it's roots but then again, times are changing and Honda has to keep up with them. Adult power wheels and battery packs.
The Civic Si has NEVER been about power. That's been Hondas position on the Si for literally forever. The car is about having fun, while not compromising practically, reliability or fuel economy. That is what the Si has always been. I don't understand what it is with people that think every single trim that touts even a slight sportiemess needs 300 horsepower out of the box
Agreed 💯 -- As an owner of a 10th gen Si coupe for a little over a year now, I'd describe it as a practical daily driver that gets great gas mileage. When you wanna do some "spirited" driving, just hit the Sport button. And it does all that bone stock, straight from the factory. Nothing more, nothing less.
The SI most likely will be refresh with some suspension, hardware and interior/exterior upgrade. Technically it can be a performance hybrid but I doubt it.
The 22-24 Si is pretty dope. It's short about 20hp and it's missing some key features like the electric suspension in the 10thgen. When I had a blue 2019 coupe, that was one of my favorite things about it
i think it’s a good car, but compared to other drivetrains in its price point.. it needs more beef lol
@@tasstychezbugu1563 Although it's not a true old school vtec.. I do like the fact they added vtec to the new 1.5T. It's a little more free revving and pulls up top. It's about 20-25hp short of the mark though
All I want to say is you better off without the active dampers, them bish are pricey as hell. For the price of 2 you can get a good set of coilovers. I like that they just stiffened the suspension a bit on the 24 si.
@@Flako92I had them in my 19 Si and now the 24 Integra Aspec. I like having the option to cruise in comfort mode with soft suspension and sport mode for spirited driving. No complaints here at all.
8th and 9th gen so much better
If the Si doesn’t change the motor, that would be ironic, since the base Civic has the K20C2 replaced by the hybrid engine (I think it’s called LFC and it’s based off the R20), but a CVT in place of electric motors
Not sure about that si is a well sorted suspension verses the new hybrid more soft and less g force
might have something to do with the L15 turbo motor oil dilution issue, funny that the k20c1 and c4 dont have that common issue. Not to mention that it seems honda is also going down the line of discontinuing 6MT. Emissions what not as well
Hate to say it but I feel the Si name will be discontinued or be used as the new “sport” level trim package from now on
What do you think they’ll do with the 2026 Integra?
Ever since I could afford a type R I got it. lol I would like to get a 2 door with sun roof and manual transmission but hey type R will have to do. I have the fk8 type R and I’m keeping it forever ❤️☺️
What if they put a detuned k20c turbo in the new Si? Maybe tuned to 252 hp like the 2.0 Accord was.
They shoulda kept the si’s NA and left these other trims booster
The real question is are you gonna get the zelda lego set?
I love this video and find this topic to be interesting & engaging personally for me I love the 10th gen Si & think swapping it with the K20C4 is the move! The 11th gen Si looks too bland you have to really mod it cosmetically to make it decently looking.
Plenty of ppl have done the k20c4 swap. It’s definitely not cheap but overall it makes the Si a “better” car for it lol
I'm a Honda guy through and through. I had a 17' 2D si, enjoyed it, got rid of it for the oil dilution scare. And now I have a 24' si, and I'll be honest I'm very disappointed with it
I highly doubt the 12th gen will get a turbo hybrid. It will most likely be a hybrid with more powerful electric motors
Rocking with my 09 so FA5. Plan is to boost it. Really want a type but they are still over price and with high rates, that’s a crazy ass payment.
Still mobbing my 22 Si, just surpassed 20K miles on it, great car 🤝 Can't stand my stock wheels anymore so time to get some Aodhans ✔
Honda should just bring back the K24Z7. The L15 took away the personality and charm the Si had.
Fr just put a small turbo low boost atleast 250hp would get a lot better mpg that would be the move
Kinda sad that the Si is being left behind. I remember going to the dealer and looking for them in the show room. Seeing all the new interior and exterior changes. Times are changing I guess. Love the channel bro!
How much hp are you pushing on your si?
310whp conservative tune
The 10th gen still hits hard. Give me a 10th Gen si coupe with the accord 2.0T…. And I’m a happy camper for sure.
I got a FK7. I’m waiting for someone to do a vtec head conversion from these newer L15s.
Very well explained sir . 2.0T should be in newer si’s to make thinngs right imo
Just tuning the 2025 Si would be a cop-out by Honda because they know the majority of owners modify them and tune them. We need something fundamentally superior than the current model, such as some actual VTEC cams or a larger turbo or something
I can see them doing a manual hybrid like the crz was
You are correct in that the SI should be closer to 250hp 235 ilbs of torque
much sportier and faster than the base but not quite the R. Honda losing their mojo a bit
Hopefully in the next decade or so when they’ve gone full hybrid or EV companies might pay some attention to the base 2.0L c2s and start producing parts and kits for them🤣 just hopeful thinking
I agree with you 💯, but for me also the dealers are pushing me away, I have 23 si, I was at my dealer trying to get in CTR they have 8 FL5s all marked up 5-10k which is crazy. While Toyota has GR corollas at or under MSRP might have to make the switch!!!
Makes you wonder why the dealers are trying so hard to push the consumers away with the mark ups.
Knowing Honda, they’re gonna disappoint us.
Refreshed TLX Type S had everyone expecting it would have more power than before. Nope!
I have a feeling they’ll keep the same boring 1.5t
didn’t get to finish the video but it had me thinking that honda might discontinue the Si like they discontinued the accord not to mention the SiR. It’s VERY unfortunate but I see a good side to this. I would think that our Si’s would have crazy value when God forbid the time comes all electric bs🤷♂️ would be a holy grail someday lol. btw I follow u on ig
They're gonna change to hybrid, they don't even sell the 1.5t engine in UK for the 11th gen civics. I had to get an fk7 instead of 11th gen because it's literally 10k more for it being hybrid compared to new 10th gen prices
The only thing that is good about the hybrid is the instant torque due to the electric motor. Im not suree if honda doing the same idea that the current nsx has to have that instant torque. either way i dont think it will be better than the Si or faster
If the Si at 28-29k has the accord 2.0T then that would be the best bang for the buck. Type R would definitely NOT be worth 15k over that Si.
It’s more than the motor though, it’s the brakes, suspension, etc that is included. Sure I might be able to go just as fast if not faster, but catch us on the track or in the canyons and they’ll be in the review mirror
If the past is any indicator, they will keep the power exactly the same, strip more features out of it, and charge more for it.
Yes but the new revamp will be Hybrid, typically not going to be a manual. This will turn of alot of buyers plus it will weight a little more, not sure how much, and you cannot easily upgrade a hybrid. If you do it will be alot of money. In my opinion the Si is going to be just fine. I am not hating just stating pure facts.
This is always an SI problem. Their stock HP is always stuck around 200 range. This is truly the end of sports car.
BAM! That's what I've been saying since 2017! (Owner of 2 FC1s '18 & '20)
May we get some more 9 gen si content and builds ?
Keep an eye out on the next video 🫡🫡
Filming today
the si has better handling and weight than the hybrid. the Si isn't for people who couldn't afford a type-r, it was on sale wayyyy before the type-r was available. since '99.
Honda definitely knows this. That's why they removed manual transmission from the 2.0NA. The Si will just change its nameplate from "Most Powerful Non Type-R Civic" to "The Only Manual Non Type-R Civic".
What’s your wheel setup and suspension for the Honda on your thumbnail ?
Everything is in the description
@@TdaKid did you have to roll your fenders for the setup ?
@@supreme_porki9381 no sir

I have a 2017 fbo civic si and newer cars just don’t draw my eye to them to consider switching
I hope your right about the k20 coming back for the newer si I would be on board for that
This begs the question of keeping it stock because im still indecisive about that for value.
I personally think it won’t hold its value as much as a low mileage 8th gen and above.
Seen some low mileage 10th and it price was reasonable for it
Lots of
Ways to tweak the Civics THANK GOD
SI wont go anywhere because if they discontinue it they have to stop making type Rs, im pretty sure honda will keep using the same L series in the 2024s and not the hybrid motors as they are NA only with 150hp or around there...Si sells way too good to stop selling or making them even with a different motor people will buy it and swap the motor
SI will keep going, until they use up all the parts to make 1.5 T. Then it will be phased out. If the SI was in the Hatchback form....i am sure they would sell more than they would now.
I would love a k20c4 in the civic si, give it like 250ish hp. But I would also love a hybrid manual. If honda can somehow figure out a new hybrid transmission with a manual and not like a tacked on electric crank pully assist system like the IME in the CR-Z I think Honda could have a winner. They've done hybrid manuals before so I am holding out hope.
Who knows man. Maybe they surprise everyone with a great hybrid turbo and a solid manual with the 12th
The Prelude will be a hybrid
I have the Acura ILX 2.4 (it’s the same car as a 9th gen si)
Whatever engine they use, I want a LSD, even if it was an auto (still want manual, but at a minimum)
Maybe the Si goes away for awhile like the old days. It was always a trim available on the last year of its generation as a last hurrah before next gen. That woud increase demand.
Only time would tell. Look how Subaru got rid of the sti and the demand is highly there for one.
@@TdaKid I bought a em1 si after 5 yrs of no si trim as soon as I could back then . they were hard to come by but they all sold out kind of like the type r today. Hopefully comes back strong.
Just saw you on the way to Camarillo
Ayyyyyyye
@@TdaKid like the build fr
When you can get an fk8 for 28-30k it makes it pointless to buy an new si.
Not saying the si line is dead but I guarantee the 2.0t motor won’t be in it, also remember Honda is looking to go 75% hybrid in the near future Honda enthusiasts days are kinda over when u look at what they currently offer and what they put out, for the car enthusiast it’s only the type r they offer and that’s overpriced and don’t even talk about Acura they offer more in their line up but the price tag is also more and not worth the price tag for what u get.
si slowly fell off since the fa8. fb6 was really the middle child with only having vtec on the intake cam lmao
10th gen Civic hybrid was the Insight :P
🤔
Yeah i drove the si and just wasnt impressed with the power. Coming from a 20yr old supercharged kseries with less torque than si it felt slow. Went with 2.0t accord instead.
I don't like the mature look of the FL5 and the 11th Gens. Granted the FK8 and all the rest of the 10th Gens look overly aggressive and riceboy looking for some folks but the 11th Gen seems to go way over to the opposite end of the spectrum. It just looks too muted and plain in my personal opinion.
I think the new Si will be a more powerful hybrid. Sadly.....
You are forgetting the fact that the SI is designed to be a sports car. It has MANY features that are not offered to the base model. The HP is a lame excuse for saying the SI is in trouble. Drive any hybrid and you’ll understand that HP doesn’t mean ish.
Yeah I wanted to get an Integra and that 1.5 motor is a massive L.
No wonder they called it the L15
Yea the L15 is a good motor…. If you’re keeping it stock. Once you start modding it, then you’ll be rolling the dice like I am lol
@@TdaKid yes sir
You know what made me laugh, the civic ex has a turbo and the sport doesn't. The EX is faster than the sport. The sport is trash with no turbo. I figured it would have been the other way around
SI is not getting the 2.0T. Next gen Type R is going to lose the 2.0T and be a hybrid. In a few years there will only be the hybrid until they go electric. Terrible move IMO, but that is what they are going to do.
Only one can dream lol
What I am grateful for is the the 2.0t fits the Si like a glove and isn’t hard to do. Just costly 🫤
Uh, I didn't get the SI because I couldn't afford the Type R.
Si has been under power since the 8th gen
Those were literally my first thoughts when I saw the refresh unveiling for the 11th gen’s. It’s really starting to annoy me and I’m sure a lot of people as well that they keep fking around with the Si when it comes to power. When they released the 11th Gen Si and said that it now comes with 200 HP which was 5 horsepower less than the 10th gen, I literally thought it was some hilarious joke. Now they got fkin non Si’s with completely new engines making way more torque and power than the fking Si. And what is Honda gunna do? I guarantee you they won’t do shit just like they haven’t for the last 18 years in terms of horsepower. Fuckers could have given us so many different options but instead go with a 1.5 liter that is already going away
Its very simple... Honda refused to get with the times, and it was just outclassed by the competition. When cars like the Elantra N exist, at almost the same price point, honda did it to themselves. I owned a 10th gen, and it never felt like a honda, and the L15 is a boring terrible engine. I actually went back and bought a 9th gen. Because the 11th gen was based on an LX. So you not only got a worse engine from the K, but then you lost the top features which the OG si's always had. Look at the 8th gen, the 9th gen, and the 10th gen. They were based on the EX. Honda didnt cut corners on features, but at soon as the 11 drops they start cutting features. Honda has really lost their way, and the R is so overpriced, without the markup, they have pretty much killed their new market, and alienated the younger audience that it catered to (the SI)... I have owned almost every gen of Si created, from the 86, si hatch i had in my teens. It is sad what they are doing, but I literally hold zero faith in honda anymore. I love my 9th gen, but I also own an 05 Wrx Sti, and a 22 VB wrx and both those cars are far superior. I got my VB wrx limited for 31k, which is the same price as a new 11th gen, and its better everywhere. long gone are the days of honda being the inexpensive sporty fun car... they are crap now. its sad
Its time for the Type R to get a v6 turbo vtec... But we need an SI with the k20C 2.0 manual
Stop. The Type R doesnt need a V6. The K20T has been swapped into NSX's w/ 1000hp. No one needs the V6
I needa sell my civic asap 120k miles 17k cheap 10th gen.
Honda is eating shit, they don't want to admit it but they SI should have come with a detuned K20T. They know if they did that, no one would buy a CTR.
The other sign is that SI or CTR will get Hybrid but drop the manual. SAD DAYS AHEAD
It will be heavier
If you are only looking at the HP numbers then the SI is not for you.
I mean… If you’re only looking at HP numbers then the civic in general isn’t for you lol
They Gotta give the Si the credit it deserves
Ya buy a muscle car
Amarica needs too continue building turbocharged car's supercharged car's as well as naturally aspirated car's in America. BANN ELECTRIC CAR'S and hybrid cars in America 🇺🇸
the integra has watered down the si. honda wants people to buy the integra.
If that’s the case then they definitely got greedy since they want to sell a 40k “luxury” civic that has almost the same features as the previous model
Honda is caring less for sure. Inventory sucks. Prices suck.
Acura TSX and RDX
The civic as a brand is dying
New Gen Hondas look trash the last good looking Gen was the 10th gen’s
L15 is a dud. Only difference with SI is the 6 speed.
They definitely chose the “easy way” on the 10th and 11th Si
Didn’t really make it stand out as they normaly do
You have No clue on what you’re talking about!
@@TdaKid agreed. A detuned k20 would be nice. Bigger brakes etc. At the end of the day the SI is just a stick shift economy car. It’s its max stage it’s a ticking time bomb. And it barely competes with Other stock cars. V6 NA cars are the only guaranteed wins lol. Anything else you’re getting gapped. PS.. I have a FBO 18 SI
@@Bbc418 I do. I have a FBO 18 SI. I smoke all NA V6 but most V6 with a turbo is dogging me out
@@JosueGarcia-lx3nybro we both know our Si’s (20’) is not meant to go fast str8 line at all shit any car under 300hp is not a straight line car
Why do you care what they do with the SI? That car is for all the Edgar’s to mod
Nahhhh I think you got that confused with the Silverado (takuaches) and the VQ community 🥸
