Absolutely!! When I first saw that film I thought I had just watched a documentary, the writing and acting was sensational!!
Totally agree, Rays character is terrifying, i think they were allowed to ad lib and improvise which helped it look so credible.. Actually met Jamie Foreman whilst on a stag do in Dublin, he was with a group of london lads who looked pretty scary, all dressed immaculately@@stephenhooper8287

He was a customer in my Mum and Dad's Off licence for years, and was a truly lovely person.

He had done stuff in TV and film but hadn't really made it big time then, it was around the time he had his own sitcom, 'Get back'. As I say, a great guy.

Nil by mouth is just mind blowing with Kathy Burke and Jamie Foreman and supports..if you want a harder watch War Zone time rRoth directed Ray..an incredible piece of cinema
Having come from a similar home as a child, watching this film was very upsetting as it is very realistic: a superb film.

My favourite geeza, LOVE LOVE Ray. Such a great actor.
If you watch one of the early episodes of The Sweeney circa 74/75 you'll see a very young Ray , remember him in Auf Weidersehn , Minder and a film called That Summer bought the soundtrack album which was than the film .
For me as a 61 Brit he's an iconic British actor up there with Mr Caine
he is in an episode of Band of Gold too. he is sat in a club when Tracy goes to London.

I remember that film from when I was in my teens. Put me on the straight n narrow 😅
I was working on a Walt Disney film at Elstree Studios in 1984 "Return to Oz", Ray payed us a visit in the studios, think it was early on in his career.
He was beyond brilliant in (Sexy beast), and (Nil by Mouth) and (44 inch chest)-he was absolutely brilliant in those and every film he's been in. One of the best British actors ever. Up there with the likes of Daniel day Lewis, Gary Oldman. Great actor.
And the graham swift novel with bob hoskins and helen mirren, Last Orders

Nil by mouth was brilliant. He was also in a similar movie directed by Tim Roth, The War Zone.
